- How to properly wash & protect your RV from damaging UV sun rays which are brutal to RV's & keep it looking new.
The last 2 to 3 years we have finally figured out what the right RV washing tools & products we need to keep our RV Motorhome looking it’s best and protect it from UV rays. We have finally got the right gear, & have honed our RV washing skills to do a full wash & detail in one day & the Motorhome is good for 6 months. This system we use is 10x better than what you’ll pay a RV camp ground wash crew to do and it will be done right. I'm also going to share with you a great power tip on how I now longer use wax, but introduce you to a product that is way better than wax and is easy to apply. I use this product every 6 months when I do my full wash and detailing. Our Motorhome is going on 11 years old NOW & everyone that stops by to chat with us thinks its nearly brand new.

My wife and I are truly saddened to hear of Martin's passing. Our hearts go out to you, Joanie, your family and all of the RV family that have become subscribers to your fabulous channel. As we are just getting into RVing ourselves and have yet to even purchase one, we have been planning for the past year. When we came across RV Street (w/ Martin and Joanie), we became hooked and watched at least one video each night ... more often a bunch. Martin's patience and method of instruction intrigued us to watch, learn new ideas and purchase items for what we will eventually need. Shocked to hear the news that our beloved mentor has passed, for us, he will live forever in our new and future life long adventure and we'll continue to watch all the videos the both of you have created. Thank you !! .... R.I.P. Martin
Thank you so much for your support. Martin will always be in my heart and greatly missed everyday. It does help knowing he is still helping people from heaven. 💔
From a Canadian viewer and fan. My heart is broken to read of his passing. I'm sure he's up there enjoying his new journey. We miss you terribly. A good thought for you Joanie.
Thank you so much ♥️
Same here. My best wishes for you Joanie. Martin is and was a great real man. Old school and I loved that. I will remember him watching your videos and I always will use these words on my coach: « I will Martinized my coach!!!👍👍👍 » . Rest in peace my friend, from Montreal Canada
Thank you so much. This comment made me sad and happy both at the same time if that's even possible.
Joanie. I am grateful for all of you and Martin videos. They help me and my wife so much. I know you both enjoyed making them as much as I enjoy watching and learning from them. I will continue to support as much as I can through my needed purchases. Continued prayers to you and your family. I am a veteran also.

Martin and I loved making the videos. Martins passion was helping people and fixing things so the videos came very naturally to him. Thank you for your continued support. ♥️
Thank you for your service to our country, (I noticed your license plates), and thanks again to the rv community, for your resourceful information. Sincerely yours, David Bailey.
thx David. 🇺🇸 🙏
Martin is a blessing. I continue to learn from him. Rest in peace brother.
Really good to know that there is a solution these days to UV damage. Wish the previous owners of my Class A had known this. I think I'm going to have to repaint the entire fiberglass RV and then use your techniques from there. Mine is 23 years old or more, and all the finish is worn off, and the fiberglass is rough and damaged, worse on one side than the other.
So sorry to hear of Martin's passing !😢😢 Best RV channel for sure !
Thank you so much.
Martin is the man. Thank you Martin for showing me how to do a thorough cleaning job.
Awesome video Martin! Go grab that beer now! Thank you for your time and your service to our country.
🇺🇸 🙏
One thing you need to know and add to one of your videos is my brother-in-law owns and drives a 18 wheeler for 40 years and he said when you get new tires for your RV have them put a quart of antifreeze in each tire, it balances the tire, soon you reach like 40 miles per hour. This the best thing I have ever done. I owned a motor home for the last 21 years. (Francis)
I was going to look for y his video. Thanks Joanie and of course, Martin.
I love that you jump right in and show us what you do without a bunch of fluff and wasted time! Usually I have to fast forward to get to the real info. Second video, new subscriber.
thx you so much for subbing GOW
I agree 👍
Great tips! Ordered the REJEX. Had a gallon of 303 on hand...it is the best.
I love your channel! You're a great teacher. You work hard with taking care of the coach and showing others your do-it-yourself techniques. Thank you!
your coach looks fantastic Martin, you and Joan do one fantastic job of keeping it up and looking good. Great Video.
Thanks Frank so much. 👍 💋

Really really. Liked your paint job. And the RV washing. Learned so much. Thanks
Most people who buy an RV don't read the manual or do their research to maintain it. You are wonderful in doing these videos- the information is a blessing! God bless you!
Thank you so much Tina.
Hi Martin, Today I received the last of the products I purchased through your list to wash my RV! Tomorrow will be partly sunny and 72 degrees in my neck of the wood -- a perfect day for applying Rejex. This Saturday will be the first time I'll be using my newly purchased RV (2016 Trend). Thanks again to you and Joanie for making the video series. Never having had an RV before (camped in tents since a small child) your videos have taught me so much. You and Joanie are an awesome team!
Jeanette thank you so much. We're so glad we have helped you. Pay it forward. 💋
@@RVstreet Hi Martin, I purchased the pressure washer from your list and washed my RV Saturday. The problem I encountered is that the soap did not come out fanned like in your video. I am not able to attach the soap canister to the extended wand; it has to be attached directly to the gun. This configuration does not allow for the spray to shoot very far nor, as I mentioned, fanned. Is there an accessory piece that I need to purchase that doesn't come with the unit?
@@jeanettejeffrey3896 You probably are using that useless plastic bottle that comes with the power washer. I don't know why they even include that thing. In order to get the nice fanning soap spray that you saw in the video, you have to buy the soap canon that I use. I put the link for that right under the power washer. So go back to the video, to the description text, and you'll see the link for that there. Pls follow up once you receive that and give me a report. I've had several people comment in the past that this set up worked just like the video showed.
th-cam.com/video/7KmgneT3HPs/w-d-xo.html
@@RVstreet Yes, the useless plastic bottle is exactly what I used. Somehow I missed the soap cannon when I was purchasing most everything else off your list. I just ordered it and look forward to putting it to use.
Today I'll be programming and installing the EszTire E518 System on my RV, also purchased through your listing on your video regarding monitoring tire pressure. Last weekend I was going to take my RV on its maiden voyage only to have the tire pressure monitoring system flash a warning symbol on my dashboard 20 minutes from home. Unfortunately, the OEM system doesn't give the exact location of the tire in question. After pulling off the highway to hit a gas station and check my tire pressure and top off with air, the system still indicated a warning light. I read on a Trend forum that faulty tire pressure system sensors are an issue but I really don't want to take a chance, hence the purchase of the monitoring system. It will give me peace of mind being able to monitor my tires during the ride. Thanks again for all the education you provide.
@@jeanettejeffrey3896 Ok good I'm glad you got the canon.
As far as the TPMS make sure your high and low pressure alarms are set properly. So for example, let's say your tire pressure-according to your weight-should be 85psi. Your high alarm should be set around 102-105 because your tires will heat up as you move down the road and tire pressure will build up. If your high pressure alarms are set to low as your tires warm up the alarm will go off. Your low pressure alarm should be set at 82psi. That way if you start to low any air in any tire it will only lose 3lbs. before you are alerted and then you can investigate why your losing air. Having low pressure in tires is where bad things happen. That's really the most important alarm you want to be watching.
I am a new owner of a class A and I am so lost how to clean and remove oxidation. I watched all your videos and looked up all the cleaning products you mentioned in your video. I learned so much here and your videos are just like text books!! Thank you!
Thank you for those words 🔧 👍
Start small first. Like on the back. That will give you an area to get into the rhythm. Compounding to remove oxidation takes time. As you compound the pads will load up with material, so as you remove it constantly by keeping cleaning them. If you have heavy oxidation, you'll have to use the wool pad and the diamond cut compound, otherwise use the other material and my red pads. Once oxidation is off, then polish. It probably will take 2 or 3 passes to restore the shine. Don't do it in the sun. An overcast sky is the best to polish and apply RejeX as your final coat. Again keep your pads clean, keep wiping off the polish off the RV each time you make a pass. Do small areas at a time. It's also better and goes faster if you have several pads. Just be patient, be methodical and it'll come out nice. You can do this.
Great timing on watching this video, just came back from over 6,000 miles driving Maine to Cali and back. Bugs, dirt, black streaks everywhere. Just did a quick wash to get the bugs and crap off so it doesn't become permanent and ordered a bunch of this stuff from your links to do it right. Your videos provide all the details and information needed to duplicate your results and I can't wait to see the Winny clean and shiny once again. Thank you Martin and Joanie for another great one!
Thank you so much Michael and also for using our links to support our channel. 💕
Someone just informed me about you and wife. Can't stop watching your segments
Just found your vlog. Becoming a 100% full timer soon and keeping my rig clean has been a major concern. In House maintenance is what keeps our day's fulfilled. A ladder, 3 feet of softbrush broom and my rig is perfect.
I love this! I wish I had all these great products when I was younger, when I was able to work like this. I have a teardrop, so I should still be able clean it like this. Thanks Martin!!
Martin, My camper’s outside walls are made with Azdel. Do you know if I can use your products on them? I sure hope so. Should I ask my manufacturer? It a NuCamp TAB 400. A teardrop! It’s about as big as your bedroom!
So very cool! Can’t wait to utilize all these great maintenance tricks
Great vid!....I remember seeing one of your vids and it just took me seconds to see that this "guy" takes care of his equipment. Everybody likes a clean coach but most are too lazy to do the work! Thanks for helping others that may work up the energy to clean their vehicles.....david
Wow!!! This is amazing!!!. I'm binge watching your videos and keep having to send them to myself so I can find them when I need them.
You don't have to that. Just go to our Playlist Page and there's a category right there that has them all listed right there for you. Or just use this link:

Great job man. So appreciate how you break it down for us. We'll done.
Glad it was helpful!
I had just really tapped into this great channel. I had no idea that I would run into your sad news and it was heart rending. I am also a veteran and so appreciated all the videos and tech tips from such a hard working and dedicated man. This has been so inspiring and makes me want to do better and pay as close attention to my RV as you have both done. Thanks for all you have done. @@RVstreet
I've been watching many of your videos over the last week; I'm impressed by your attention to detail and your specific HOW TO explanations. Tour tool "kit" is excellent! Thanks for sharing. Aloha
Wow, thank you Cha. I see you've been binge watching. That's very cool.
I just commented on a your latest video but I wanted to let you know we appreciate all your videos. We are new to RVING and have found everything you share very useful. Thanks for uploading such informative videos.
Thx RD so much.
I am Impressed!!!! So impressed that I bought the Wash, the Rejex and the Foam Cannon, and we have tried the Soap, and the Cannon, WOW, what a great job they did. Our Motorhome hasn't been washed since last summer, was covered up all winter, but still dirty. The wash and Cannon was so easy to use and made the job so much easier. Cleaned the Black Streaks off almost as well as if I had used just my "elbow grease" and a sponge.
Thanks for sharing your method of cleaning your RV and for providing the links to each item.
Now after we get the whole thing cleaned, we are going camping!!! Great video, good instructions and good items to review and recommend too.
Thank you Sharon so much. After we got thru all the NO's and got to the YES's on what really works, this is what we share. I'm so glad to hear this. Thanks for reporting back. It means a lot. 👍😜
@@RVstreet You are very welcome. I like to give out more praise than complaints, lol, and when something works I like to give recognition to the person who suggested it.
I know how hard it is to get good reviews, especially here on YT, most people only want to talk about all the negatives, so I have to give good reviews when they are warranted.
hello from the Ozarks mr. martin!! thanks for your time and detail information! tight lines and cheers!
Thanks for the video and recommends. Ordered stuff just now from your store. Now off to find the cracked decal video!
Thank you so much for your support
Best video ever on washing my Rig. I will definitely implement some of these ideas.
Thanks so much Alfred
very nice thanks for all of the tips!!!
WOOT! I just got the pole and the power washer from your Amazon store, along with a few more goodies! Thank you, Martin!
Thank you Dee. Your such a loyal fan 💗
I just used your coach washing devices. I got your soap, your foamer your brush and extension. All worked perfectly.
I used a product called ProtectAll to protect coach. It polishes, waxes and protect. It is easily applied and can be used on paint, plastic and windows; it can be used on anything except fabric.
I just spray on coach, wipe to spread evenly and light buff by hand. It looks great and lasts up to 6 months.
I enjoy your videos. I am getting ready to do the greasing. I am 73, it is a little hard getting on the ground under the coach. I will try though.
I am familiar with Protect All.
The problem with Protect All is it doesn't have any UV blockers which is the number one destroyer of RV's.
You have to read closely what the label says and "WHAT THE LABEL DOESN'T SAY".
Here's what there website says verbatim so you don't think this is my opinion:
Protect All is one product that DOES IT ALL: cleans, polishes, waxes, protects and treats all surfaces - front to back, inside and out. It is quick and easy to use and leaves an anti-static, water repellent lustrous shine on hard surfaces, while treating the vinyl, rubber and plastic.
No where does it say it "blocks UV rays or has UV blockers.
Here's what Rejex website says verbatim:
This very thin film, only tenths of a micron thick, reduces adhesion of all common contaminants such as road grime, exhaust, oil, bug splats, bird droppings, brake dust, tree sap, pollen, tar and grease. RejeX also provides exceptional UV protection. It is even effective against the dreaded love bugs!
Did you see that? RejeX also provides exceptional UV protection.
FACT: 2 coats of RejeX blocks 100% of UV rays....and that's what destroys RV's over time.
Over the years I've used many, many different products, waxes, etc and nothing comes close to "protecting" an RV from UV rays like RejeX, That's why I recommended this particular product in my video. I want those that watch our video's get nothing but the best.
I just wanted to clarify the facts and differences of these two products.
I do want to thank you though from the bottom of my heart for using our links to buy our other recommended tools that we used to detail our RV. And I'm glad that those products delivered the results as I explained and showed everybody in that vidoe.
So I'm still sticking to my guns on RejeX.
thx Stephen my friend. 😜
My ProtectAll says it does have UV blockers. I just watched two videos emphasizing the fact it has UV Blockers. One guy is a detailers and has used it for years.
Merci!
Thank you so much Denis. A great way to say thank you 🙏 💕
Wow! This video is great. I will now start buying the pressure washer, polisher soap and jetx. Thanks for sharing this important instruction.
Thank you Eldon and a real big thanks for supporting our channel. Your RV is going to look better than it ever has. 👍
I’m new to the RV world. I’ve been binge watching all your videos. I bought an older RV but the info you are putting out I can tell will benefit me in the future. You are very thorough in all your explanations. When watching this video, I was thinking stilts that a drywaller would use would work so much better than a ladder. You can keep moving and not up and down a ladder. Maybe a game changer.
Really appreciate the attention to detail Martin. I purchased the soap cannon, telescopic pole, soap, soft brush this week and cleaned our Class C yesterday. All of the products are as you’ve described - they work very well, especially love the soap cannon!. It’s been too sunny and hot here near Conroe TX (96 yesterday ) , for me to apply the Rejex ( I need to order the Meguiars polisher as well). I’d be remiss if I didn’t compliment Joanie on the camera work! Love all your videos , and keep up the good work!
Thank you so much Keith.
What you can do is hit it with RejeX early in the morning. Do 1/2 of the coach one morning and the other 1/2 the next. We lived in Houston, Texas the past 30 years so I know what you mean about the heat/humidity. That's why I got into a regiment of doing this full detail late in the fall and then again in late spring before we get on the road again. It's cooler in those times. BTW...Thousand Trails in Willis/Conroe is our home park.
@@RVstreet Martin, as a follow up , I bought the Meguiars polisher and Rejex and both are awesome products! I took your advice and did the Rejex job in two mornings to avoid the sun/ heat. My RV looks new and could not be happier. I didn’t realize the 6” polisher backing plate wasn’t included when I ordered the polisher , but found one that fits and works well ( Harbor Freight) ...got me out of a pinch. Keep these maintenance videos and tips videos coming....everything you’ve recommended has deserved 10 stars in my book!
hey RV Street, I just wanted to say thank you to both of you for sharing all of this knowledge with us. Wish I would have had it around when I bought my class c 3 yrs ago...I am looking fwd to your roof cleaning video even though I found my answer in the comments. I even watch your videos that don't pertain to my situation.
Thank you WC. That means a lot. 🔧👍
love your videos ...thanks for the education ...so glad I found you
Absolutely love your videos! Thank you so much! My wife and myself sat up last night watching the videos. We are soon to be rv’ers. We are in the market for an entry level motorhome. I am subscribed to your page. Intend on watching every single one of them. I have learned so much already. Once again, thank you!
Thank you so much Sidney. You two take your time and pick the right coach for you guys and the way you plan on traveling. There's a lot to consider.
Nice job. JUst wanted to mention; I have a Joni too. They are gems! Havagudun Martin.
Yeah Joni and Joanie. 💗 💕 💗 💕💗 💕💗 💕💗 💕💗 💕
I’ve been using rejex on my 5 th wheel since 2008 . Still looks great. Also Chemical guys soap either citrus or watermelon . Great products .
Good-looking coach you keep it nice and clean really looks nice
Check out the werner pro platform, way easier than a ladder , thanks for the great video
Great job you really take a lot of pride in your rig. picking up a bottle of auto wash. Great DIY videos.
Yeah it's a labor of love with me. Thanks so much guys.
Thanks again for another great video Martin
Another great video from RVSTREET, I’m going to have to try ReJects!
Mark...it's RejeX. Stay OFF the Happy Campers OK and read the text. LOL
OH..I get it...sarc. Got it. We Luv you guys.
man I love you Video's....very detailed...thanks
Very informative. Thank you for sharing.
Just paid for the wash and wax here in Conroe, but will try your method next time it needs to look like a new 2014 Class C Nexus Phantom. Great video again RV Street.
I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I bought $530 of equipment and supplies on your site, but I couldn’t afford the Maguieres dual action variable speed polisher so I bought one that had reasonable reviews on Google for $117 - BOCATO brand, and I hope it works as well. I also hope that by searching for it and purchasing it under your umbrella you still get credit for it. My RV has a lot of discoloration and some chalk, though I do try to keep up with it. Since you seem to favor Maguieres to some extent, and it is liked by one or two other TH-cam presenters, I purchased it, but I had to do that on EBAY as Amazon was sold out. Thank you for your clarity. Great job!!
Thank you so much for supporting our channel Augusta. It means a lot. And yes, anything you buy thru our Amazon Store whether it's actually in our store or not we do receive a small commission from each sale. So again thank you for that.
FWIW...concerning my polisher, other than the variable speed features it has which you need for different applications, another really BIG deal is it weighs in @ only 5.4 pounds. Weight is really not an issue when your at ground level working on say your car. But when you're polishing an RV you're on a ladder, reaching up a lot, covering a lot of real estate and a heavier polisher will really wear your arms and shoulders out. I don't know what yours weighs but I just wanted you to know why I choose the model I did.
So since your RV has chalking going on (aka oxidation) is your plan is to compound, polish and protect?
@@RVstreet Yes, I have decided after studying your video, to wash it as you demonstrate, then use Maguieres Compound One Step in 2x2 foot areas, wipe it with microfiber cloth, then Rejex and buff. I decided on that by amplifying your discussion about what to do with black marks - the marks and chalk just require an increased cutting product than polish. I wouldn’t know how to approach the problem without your instruction. Thank you. Oh, and our messages kind of crossed in the night, so to speak, because I didn’t know you had already noticed that I bought the stuff like I did. I wasn’t trying to make that big of a deal. Kind of embarrassed myself. :)
I recently discovered your channel on a show with water softeners. This video on cleaning your RV was great. I would also like to commend you on how you set up all of the products with a link to Amazon. Great job, thanks.
Thank you Joe. BTW...Do you remember what show that was?
We followed your link to purchase rejex (by the way makes it really easy to purchase and makes sure we buy the correct supplies) tried it out works great rv looks brand spanking new.
Thank you so much Martha. Wish you were here with us.
I've learned so much. Excellent
Great channel. Can you do a video on the initial buffing compounding and polishing of your coach.
Yes that's in my plans down the road. But pls be patient.
No problem, it’s summertime and as you said it’s not a good idea to do it in the summer.
I had a green works pressure washer for about a year. The o rings in the wand started leaking and I could not find any o rings that size. Good luck!
This is one of many great videos I've watched on your channel. Just recently purchased a coach very similar to yours. You are a treasure chest of information. Subbed a couple of days ago. BTW you just cost me $300 on Amazon, money well spent. Thanks and keep them coming.
thank you so much loborob.
I see your Purple Heart plate. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
My honor. 💕
Going into the service was one the best things I've done in my life.
Using your advice to help cleanup our RV. Will buy from the links below. Y’all are such a great inspiration. Thanks!!
Thank you Hinde so much. Your coach will be the envy of others wherever you go. 👍 What kind of RV do you have?
RVstreet Thank you! It’s an old Class A - 1995 Coachmen Santara QB280. 113K miles. Needs brakes (rebuild rusty lines and send off the hydro boost? to be rebuilt) and a few odds and ends that you might expect with a 25yr old vehicle. Exterior needs a little love, too, and this video (and your exterior decal work) helped us see what is possible. We bought her in Tampa and drove to Columbia SC with zero issues - engine tranny & AC are solid! In “dry dock” now in our driveway to repair and reconfigure into something that works better for us.
Our 5th wheel has bad oxidation. Started to get the products you suggested/use to give our girl a good deoxidation scrub and wash then polish with Rejex. I think I am going to be very busy.
Ya but it will be worth it when your done 😎
First of all Martin thank you for your service. Really liked your wash/wax video and the attention to detail given to the various products used. Thanks and look forward to future videos. Mike R
My honor.
GREAT DEMONSTRATION THANKS!
Ps. The apron…great idea for a “tool belt”
Rejex is the bomb!
I have also tried many expensive products that kinda worked. I have a 2014 Vista with sun damage from the last owner. I polished it with Detail King products but it doesn’t last long. I’ll be trying this!
If you have a nice high polish on your rig, trust me, Rejex really works to protect the RV.
Love your so informative and attention to detail Maintenance Videos
Another great video, with explicit detail. Thanks again Martin and Joanie !! I've recently purchased the Greenworks pressure washer, soap canon, all the Meguiar's items and the polisher as well. Ironically though, the Meguiar's Ultimate Fast Finish G18309 direction on the box states "not recommended for glass/windows". Although I haven't used it yet and I'm confident with it as you have shown, but do you have any comments why it may have this printed? .... Oh yeah, and I've got the fabulous pole on order as well !!!
I'm sad to say that Martin has passed away and I don't have the answers to your question. Thank you so much for watching our videos.
The telescoping pole is back in stock. I put the link in the list of items in the description text. Just go to the top of the page and click SHOW MORE to see them. Joanie & I really appreciate you guys using our affiliate links. Doesn't cost you a penny more and it really helps support us making these video's for everybody.
Hello Martin and Joanie! This is such an informative video, I came back for another viewing. Plus, up here in Ouray, CO, it was still the dead of winter when I watched this 2 months ago. We are just on the cusp of the mostly freezing temperatures at night to start fading (though, Memorial day is when you should hold of for planting).
A few questions....and I would like you to review my summary for accuracy:
1) My travel trailer is 4 months old (the fiberglass should be finished repaired from that snow plow strike in about a week!). And, our 2 toyotas are 3 yrs old with not having been waxed. And, our F350 is 9 months old. I assume, all of these vehicles and trailers could use a complete (foam soap and rinse, polish, and a rejex wax) works?
2) The process, as I understood it from you:
a) foam canon a section, wipe with the soft brush, and rinse.
b) on sections that still appear to have streaks, spots, or feel roughness on the surface, etc, do the polish with the polisher
c) then do a coat, maybe 2 (initially), of the rejex
d) do this complete washing twice per year (the other times can be just a maintenance wash)
Whenever you visit Ouray, you'll see we only have like 1 or 2 paved streets in town. On our dirt road is the second most popular tourist site, a water fall. It gets mega dusty! I almost feel our cars would need just a rinsing before we do your wash wax all process for the quick washes.
For your black hard plastic trim items, such as your mirrors, coach door handles, etc, do you use the 303 Protectorate......or would you use the rubber seal conditioner that you also use on your rubber items?
Also, the ladder that you use, is it 13ft if you unfolded it straight out? Or , with it folded in the a-frame mode, could it articulate up so that it would be 13ft high? I guess what I'm asking, is can you use this ladder to access your roof from the side of your coach?
Safe travels!!
Another great video. I really appreciate the specify on brands and techniques. Three questions. First, do you use RejeX on the roof or another product or no product? Second, did you or would you ever buy a paint protection plan from the dealer when you first pick-up your new RV? Third, did you use the On-The-Go softener with the electric power washer or a home soft water spigot?
#1 - No I don't use RejeX on the Roof but stayed tuned because I have my roof video coming out next month I show everything I've done.
#2 - No I wouldn't. If you really feel you need that, you find other parties that offer that and extended warranties much cheaper. Just a word of caution on extended warranties...Don't just check what they cover BUT what they DON'T cover.
#3 - Sometimes I connect my hose and use the water softener when I wash and sometimes I don't. Depends on where I am, the hardness of the water and the weather. But I've learned to wash and wipe dry as I go. I never want to deal with water spots again. So...eeh it really doesn't matter much. But if I'm in a place where I know it's really hard water there then yes. I hook up my pressure washer hose to my water softener.
"And your windows are just like glass!" HAHA! I see what you did there!
Loved your video on painting graphics... I have same issue on mine.. 03 flair
I’m going to have to try ReJects!
RejeX.

It's great stuff.
Great video and Thanks for my freedom.
Freedom is what we are all about.
Beautiful!!! I just did mine for the first time since buying him May 22, 2020 and just getting the bugs off the front took me at least an hour! I’m going to buy some of that Rejex stuff...I’m assume it’s in the link and in your store...I will probably grab that wash also. I want to protect George the best that I can and I know that bugs and bird crap is terrible for the paint! I got some new tires on him today so things are coming together! Thanks for all your info, it truly is a HUGE help!
Yeah it's important when you land somewhere after driving a long distance to get those bugs off the front of the coach ASAP. If left there and they bake in....it can hurt the paint and really make them hard to get off. Applying RejeX makes this task a whole easier.
Great video. You explain everything and show what you are doing. Thank you for your service.
I appreciate that!
Martin- this video along with the RV Wash Wax All video are two of the best I have seen at keeping RVs clean. Another fantastic tutorial. I will be ordering the supplies to do it on my Class A. One question: can I use the same technique and supplies to clean my autos? Thanks and have a great day.
Absolutely, yes you can. 👍
Thanks for video, purchased the washer and spray. Did the RV this week, wife’s car next. Lol.
You have video on properly cleaning the awning?
I have an awning care video coming up later this year.
BTW...Thank you so much for supporting us using our Amazon Store. It means more than you know to Joanie & I.
Love your videos!!! Washing ours for the first time today and bringing the power washer, something we hadn’t thought of before!! Thanks Martin!
Thanks J. If you have a high power-power washer be sure to stand back a lot further than I did especially when rinsing. And really watch it around those vent areas.
Glad you liked the video and was helpful.
We're getting ours washed again today but by RAIN and lots of it.
Martin! I just discovered your site and videos. You're amazing...thank you very much for your advice. I'm working my way through all of your videos. In this video on detailing your coach, you mentioned getting rid of water spots. How did you get rid of yours? What product did you use? I appreciate your recommendation. Thanks.
The ONLY way is to polish them out. That's why I explained in the video to wash and dry as you go along. My variable speed polisher, my pads and polish that I showed you in the video is the only way to get them out. One of those cheap orbital polishers won't cut it for a job like a RV. Once you get all the water spots out, and have now restored a beautiful shine to your RV, use a light coat of RejeX like I showed in the video twice a year and your RV will look like new.
Everything I use to keep our coach looking nice throughout the year is in the description text of that video. So go back to that video: th-cam.com/video/7KmgneT3HPs/w-d-xo.html
and right underneath the video you'll see SHOW MORE, click that, scroll down and you'll see the links right there. Using our links is a great way to say "thank you" for making these video's because it supports our channel.
Thx Omer and good luck. 😜
Makes me want to get to work😊
Where would we find the extension pole and the 2 sided mop head. Buying only that. Not the whole package? Thank you
Martin,
How do I get spots off my aluminum wheels caused by tire cleaner?
Using my foam Canon on my coach is so rewarding. I soak it with foam, let it set a few, rinse it off, foam up again and scrub with a micro fiber.
They have a product to remove water spots on glass. Really easy to use. I forget the name of it.
I'm a brand new subscriber and have been enjoying your channel. I love the common sense millwrights have! Can you talk a little about your bike rack? My wife and I just purchased a used 2016 Vista 27N and she has a jeep we're planning on towing with a Blue Ox tow bar. I've been looking for a bike rack that might work and saw the one on the back of yours and it looks interesting.
Thx Greg for subbing 😍
I talked some on my tow package and bike rack here at 15:48 in the time line:

My bike rack is in my Amazon Store in the "Towing Equip. and Gear" category:

Fantastic video. Can you talk a little about your water softener you mentioned. Thanks
I covered that here towards the end:

But I am planning soon to cover a little more about this soon. So stay tuned.
Great info. I use a pump sprayer to apply soap then brush and rinse. My pressure washer has too high of pressure to use on the RV. I plan to try the rejex. Have used Meguiars for years but not that particular product. Thanks!
Yeah, those high power...power washers you got to watch out for those. They're good for somethings but not RV's.
We are learning so much from RV Street. Thanks for your DIY videos! I can’t seem to find show more for the links.....
Found the links, thanks!
Thank you Connie so much. 💕 🙏
Thank you for ALL of your videos! I love them. I just purchased my first Class A RV (ok my first RV). It's a 2001 that is dull and has lost is luster and shine. I am excited to try to restore her beauty and follow your RV sticker repair. QUESTION: Do I wait to Rejex polish until I try to restore the sticker graphics? And is the soap going to be what removes the oxidation?
Evelyn, I get this question a lot about the DULL look and has lost it's luster. It's called oxidation. Once oxidation has been removed, then you polish, then you apply RejeX for the final protective coat.
*Here's the process and a few tips I tell people to do to remove oxidation*
The light weight Meguirs MT300 Dual Action-5.4lbs. is an awesome machine. Be sure to buy the back plate too. It's sold separately. It's the exact unit I used to remove the oxidation that my coach had when I first bought it in 2016. Having the right polisher is important. My coach at the time had heavy oxidation on the drivers side and back with light to medium oxidation on the other areas. My large slide on the drivers side was the worse so I had to use the wool pad and diamond cut compound on that area. I didn't have a YT Channel at the time, so I don't have a video on it. But I wish I did. I've actually been looking for an RV that has some oxidation so I can do a video on the process in a camp ground. But I haven't had any owners willing to cooperate with me. But I use the MT300 for everything to keep our RV maintained. If you have oxidation, once oxidation is removed, don't ever let it oxidize again. That way you won't have to go thru this process again.
If need be like you saw in my polishing video, if an area needs a little polishing, polish it then apply RejeX. My secret to keeping it maintained and shiny is using RejeX for my final coat because RejeX blocks the UV rays from the sun and that's what causes oxidation.
For compounding start small first. Like on the back. That will give you an area to get into the rhythm. I used a 12' rolling scaffold so I could stand up straight and do the top half of the coach. The bottom half is much easier to do than the top. Compounding to remove oxidation takes time. As you compound, the pads will load up with material from the RV, so you have to constantly remove it, by keeping them clean, washing them out with water-warm water is best-in a bucket and a small hand held brush wring them out, put them back on the MT300 and continue. OR if you really want to make it easy to clean them and go fast get my Adams Car wash bucket to keep your pads clean. If you have heavy oxidation, you'll probably have to use the wool pad and the diamond cut compound, otherwise use the other compound material in the blue bottle in my store and my red pads. Once oxidation is off, THEN polish with my Meguiar's Ultimate Polish also with the red pads. It probably will take 2 or 3 passes to restore the shine. Don't do it in the sun. An overcast sky or inside under cover is the best to polish and apply RejeX-or wax if you prefer that instead-as your final coat. Again, keep your pads clean *AND DRY* when applying polish, keep wiping off the polish off the RV each time you make a pass with a microfiber cloth. Do small areas at a time. It's also better and goes faster if you have several pads. Just be patient, be methodical and it'll come out nice. You can do this 👍
Everything I use is in my Amazon Store www.amazon.com/shop/rvstreet
The stuff you’ll need is in the "Compound, Polish, Finish Coat" category. Above each product is a text bubble where I describe what each product is and what I use it for.
Here's a link to one of my PLAYLISTS that covers other aspects of how I take care of the outside of my coach. These will be helpful to you also. Especially the first 3 videos:

Hope this helps 👍
I did not see you do your aluminum rims. Do you use the same method on them as the rest of your coach? I've watched all your videos. Some more than one time. It takes a lot of effort to make them. Thank you
Thank you William for watching our channel. It means a lot to Joanie & I. I'm glad we've been a help to you.
So as far as the rims are concerned...
Yes I wash them with the same soap that I use on the coach, rinse then dry them. Then once a year I use Mother's Polish and hand polish them including the holes in the rims using my cone shaped polisher on the end of my electric drill. My aluminum rims are coated so it doesn't take much effort to kept them up. 👍
Do use Di after to rinse
You touched on cleaning the sides of the Slides at the end, can you do a 'moving day' video that includes the Prep for Retracting the Slides? Especially if it is raining when bringing them in - I have searched everywhere and not found anyone who has addressed this. I am asking you because I like the way you explain maintenance items, thanks and keep up the good videos.
The process is the same whether it's raining or not. We do plan on producing a video on our setup and break down in the near future.
thx for watching.
Do you use the rejex on the roof as well? If not, is there any protectant that you put on the roof?
What do you do to help protect the AC cover and other covers that are up on the roof? I imagine those plastic things would degrade due to all of the sun exposure over time.
Do you clean the underbelly of your coach?
Really great video, thank you very much for doing this!
1st question: No I don't. Here's what I did to my roof and with that coating the only thing I have to do now is wash: th-cam.com/video/H00oNtbvtrk/w-d-xo.html
2nd question: Our AC covers are 10yrs. old and other covers are 5yrs. old-which I've replaced- and I haven't treated them but wash them often. They're all white which repels heat and are all good. Sun has not damaged them much at all.
3rd question: I don't clean it per se other than some periodic wipe downs as I inspect certain areas as I crawl under there often to look for any problematic areas, but I also don't run it on salty roads or park it on beaches. Which both can be damaging to the chassis. For a 10yr. old RV the under belly is in remarkably good shape. However, I have treated it for some minor rust issues which you can see here: th-cam.com/video/QQnsKk1he-M/w-d-xo.html
Thank you Anne for taking the time to ask questions. 👍
Martin....your coach shines like a brand new penny. Great video...and I assume you had something ice cold to drink after all that work. Take care.
Oh you bet cha. Several Margerita's on ICE.
If you are using the Aero Cosmetics waterless wash & wax: when you are ready to apply Rejex do you need to strip the waterless wax before applying the Rejex? Thanks, really like your videos.
I'd like to know what to use on your awning material to clean it
Woolite delicates mixed with water
