To understand infertility, it is very important to understand the female reproductive system, which includes a uterus, two ovaries and two fallopian tubes. Every month, in each menstrual cycle, one or 2 eggs gradually gets matured inside the ovary in a female body and eventually get released in mid-cycle, after attaining full maturity. The released egg gets sucked into fallopian tube and waits there for sperms to come, to get fertilised. The fertilization process done inside the fallopian tube and after that the formed embryo gets implanted to the uterus in blastocyst stage.
The whole process can be hampered and desired pregnancy cannot be achieved in the following circumstances
• If count or quality of the sperm is not at per
• If both fallopian tubes are blocked or damaged
• If quality of egg is very poor
• If ovarian reserve is very low
