I'm currently writing a graphic novel, and listening to this kind of music (Heather Dale, Heather Alexander, Mercedes Lackey, ect) really helps me with this genre.
I wrote a fanfiction that follows this ballad. And HOLY SHIT. I had written in Arthur dying under the same tree Merlin became, but I JUST read that that actually happened in one of the legends version. Holy shit e.e
I'm wearing earbuds listening to this, when Heather came in on her own chorus, I thought someone was singing this to me over my left shoulder, I turned around and everything. 😂
Most people dont look into well enough but the maid within the story is actually reference to the maid of lorraine who was later known as Joan D'Arc. 800 years before she were ever to exist even historical scholars attribute the prophecy of Joan of Arc having first been told by a "fictitious" Sage. and thus so it was that Frane was destroyed by a woman and saved by a virgin. Look it up. History so much stranger then fiction.
Im late in the comment section, but this is so beautiful! First time hearing this. I`ve seen in the comments section that there is another version of this song. I`ll go check it out!
I've never heard this version! It's lovely. The one I HAVE heard is pretty too, but it's a lot slower, I like the beat of this one. They're both nice, though, I guess.
I was reading an Artemis Fowl fanfiction and had TH-cam playing a semi-random selection of songs in the background. This song caught my attention, so I looked at the comments--- and what did I see, but your username, which is a reference to the Artemis Fowl books. The coincidences I encounter continually astound me.

Ah, a song about Merlin... my favorite figure from the Arthurian legends. Even if this is the story of his death, it is still beautiful.

This is an interesting song. stumbled upon it by a mistype but I'm happy I did.
Disco/dance version of one of my fave Heather songs. Nice for a change of pace but I definitely prefer the original.
