Let me know if you want me to build this tone for Helix/HX Stomp - also if you've got any suggestions for improving the clean tone with the JCM800 that'd be cool....

Always appreciate the Pod Go love. That's what I use and still love it. If I ever spend any more money on modeling, I would go all in and probably get the Helix floor just for the technology.

I also own a Pod Go and am thinking that just adding an HX Effects to the Pod Go would come pretty close to a Helix Floor for about 2/3 the cost.

Awesome! Ive been looking for some "classic rock" tones for a HB + marshall sound. Would love one for the helix! Could never really got the brit 2204 to sound good. I believe the version line6 based one of their marshalls on is a weird modded one.
That very last clean/push tone was badass! I find myself more and more going for that slightly distorted 'push' tone on my Helix, rather than a labeled &processed clean tone, because it sounds so awesome. If you have a guitar that is in HSS or HSH, you can always flip to the single coil and get a really nice, janglepush sound that is really chime-y, then flip to the bridge humbucker and get a slashing kind of Pete Townsend tone.

Best lead tone I’ve gotten on the HX Stomp is with the Placater and the Phil X IR from York Audio’s Marshall M25 pack. *chef’s kiss*.

That’s cool the pod go shows each pedal and amp as a symbol like that. Too bad we can’t turn that style on with the floor models

Such good sounds! Please put in the PodGo folder. What folder is the IR cab in?
I've found that I prefer the LIne 6 2204 mod for JCM tones and that it will have more usable clean and edge of breakup tones than the stock JCM model. I also end up using the Studio Tube Pre model directly after the amp block to give a little more life and dynamics before hitting the cab block(s).

Awhile back I started using the Studio Pre for the same reason.. it is subtle but man it’s the ticket! Really keeps the dynamics up front when rolling up/down on the guitar volume or tone knobs.. which is critical for me.

Your playing always makes me smile/stank face, one of the two! Have you heard of Patrick Droney? His music is very different to this, but I think his lead tone is really cool and it’d be cool if you could take a look at some of his sounds?

Are you using an impulse response cab that you purchased or does this come with the Pod?

Nice! Were those active pickups? They sound really clear. I am stuck on P-90’s myself. I always go back to them lol. I don’t really play this type of music anymore though

What do you use for your drums on your tracks?
Jason Sadites did a video for the JCM800, but I can’t remember if he focused any on cleans. I followed along and made a preset-it was very Megadeth-ish. If I get a chance to turn on my stomp I can check if it does since I haven’t play in that one for a good spell.
I found the designated Marshall’s in the Helix to be among line 6’s worst amps. The JTM45 blows.
I think the Marshalls in Fractal world are one of the areas that they really got some stuff very right.
If you’re not already make sure your tone knob is all the way up and you’re on the bridge pickup, I made the mistake of not doing so a while back and couldn’t figure out why this exact preset didn’t sound good haha! IT’S NOT THE POD GO’S FAULT!! Don’t be like I was!

Interesting! You don’t use a compressor with humbuckers? I always have troubles with this combination humbuckers/compressors. Can you recommend a compressor for using in a Helix preset?
High gain is already highly compressed. What would you need a compressor for?

@@SjaakShirly6559 depends. For blues I don’t really use compressors because you want all those dynamics intact. For low gain and clean in other styles I’ll sometimes use the LA Studio comp at the front of the chain. Just a little compression
