It's nice to see you actually listen to critique and feedback unlike other TH-camrs. You easily could've ignored them with how many likes the old video got. Shows that you actually care about the fans and what they say.
because not all criticism is great criticism. If a TH-camr chooses NOT to address what you want, it is no one's problem but your own. It does not make him any better than anyone else. It just meant he took a route that no one else took. Example: If Dunkey was given tips for anything he'd probably never take you seriously. He has over a million viewers average, why would he? I think this is that self-entitlement that many of us have: believing that just because people do not address our needs that they are against us or "just want money." After all, it is his channel and he doesn't even obtain much money doing so. If anything, he lost valuable time correcting while other youtubers would just move on to a better financial decision. Not completely dissing your statement but it is a tad pompous and passively annoying.
That would be smoughs and ledos but vordts is not distracting I personally love vordts and it’s my favorite great hammer and it’s so satisfying to get frostbite plus the high damage it does
Sloomoon I feel bad for faith users(myself among them) since it doesn't feel like there are very many good faith weapons along with the faith infusions not being very good either.
Lothric K***ht Sword: S in Faith (both Blessed and Lightning), and it's a Straight Sword with 110 crit so you can't go wrong. Low stat reqs, and Raw + Darkmoon Blade isn't half bad either. Best choice IMO. Crucifix of the Mad Arena Slayer: basically the best you've got for killing your average arena meta monster. 800 AR after Dark Blade, Great Club R2, Halberd R1, practically unbreakable poise on the WA. Shares the Sunlight SS weakness of being outlasted except it's worse at chasing people. Dragonslayer's Low Level PVP Meta Axe: 503 AR Blessed 60fth/min reqs, 513 Lightning. And War Cry to both buff it even further and change the moveset. Also Raw + Lightning Blade hits like a fucking truck. Not a bad choice at all. Sunlight PLS NERF Sword: A straight sword that isn't very good... until you buff it. Then it's pretty good, though post-nerf I think it's balanced because the WA is worthless in PvP and the opponent can just run until you run out of buff and then apply just enough pressure to prevent you from buffing again. Lothric K***ht Greatsword: 715 AR Blessed 27str/16dex/60fth 2-handed. Easily 800+ with Heavy infusion and Lightning Blade. Absolute 3v3 monster, but pretty meh in duels. (descending order btw, also opinions HO!)
I love the HCGS, hits like a truck and the weapon art comes out so fast people usually don't have time to react, and when they try to panic roll away you can just catch them with the jumping attack. I use it with lighting blade and wreck face with it.
there is a problem with this. i tested the damage between the harald and the exile on my 66 strength character. i noticed the ar of the exile being higher than the harald and thought it was because of base damage (both heavy infused duh) and sure enough, the base damage was higher, but what i also noticed was that the scaling damage of the A scaling from the exile was higher than the S scaling from the harald which is ridiculous imo. plus i find the weapon art of the exile more useful, great hyper armor and ridiculous damage.
good thing that from make their best to basically genocide anything that doesnt only rely on roll spam and parrying, it would really be too hard for me to chose between a fun build and another one that is so boring as fuck that i die from old age by using it
Best Int weapons (IMO): -*Moonlight Greatsword*: B scaling for Int. Huge magic damage with high intelligence. Relatively low requirements (16 Str / 11 Dex). Great moveset. Quite difficult to obtain, defeating Oceiros with a mage character can be tricky. -*Immolation Tinder*: S scaling for Int. Really high AR, but also a lot of requirements (18 Str / 18 Dex / 12 Fth). It deals fire damage instead of magic (good against magic resistant enemies). Can be used as a staff, so you can combo sorceries with melee attacks. It requires to farm fire witches in order to get it. -*Crystal Longsword*: A scaling for Int. Ok AR with really low requirements. Can be obtained really early and infused with Raw gem, than change to crystal gem with +30 Int. Straight sword moveset, versatile and balanced.
I picked up the Splitleaf for my STR build because there's really not many good STR weapons for PvP that I actually like. Splitleaf is one of the ones I do like. Drang Hammers are another, though they don't fit well on my build unless I equip them over the Splitleaf because I'm fat feelsbadman.
I got it because i like guan-yu in chinese mythology, and he uses a halberd, and the splitleaf looks like his halberd. Found out it was the right choice soon after :D
I found very cool from you that you took into consideration the feedback your work got and that's just really mature and shows compromise with your content :) Have an amazing new year!
Some tips for Ledo's GH; The weapon art that collects the stones is also a damage buff in general. If you leave the rocks on, you'll see that your AR went up. Also to conserve FP, unless you think you will land the charged R2 after collecting stones don't use it. Using the charged R2 right after collecting stones will cost you FP but if you collect your stones and wait a second or try it later then a charged R2 won't cost you any FP.
I think Astoria greatsword infused with magic is one of the best since it is incredibly caster friendly due to the fact that it has s scaling in intelligence and it is the lightest ultra greatsword in the game with a devastating but easy to parry weapon art.
why isnt milwood battle axe not mentioned it can reach close to 600 damage when heavy and using its buff and is a fast and really light weapon and can be infused and buffed
Cory Seavers I think it's because of it's weapon art inconsistency, wheter you get the attack after doing it or not. Other than that is a fast and reliable weapon that deals tremendous damage
Icard even without the weapon art it still beats out the split leaf nobody can ever get a hit with it its move set is way 2 easy read and he barely mentions any weapons at all also the exile greayspwrd is a dex weapon mainly lol
Thanks for the video, not new to the Dark Souls series but finally have time to sit down and play DS3 with dlc. Fan of STR users so this helps a lot because I hate not knowing what weapon to lvl up and wasting all my time on the wrong one.
Awesome that You actually go back and update your videos man! Also, In my opinion, The Best Int weapon in Dark Souls 3 is The Moonlight Greatsword. Despite being Late game, it is very powerful. Also, a Drakeblood Greatsword with A magic Buff could hurt in PvP.
Best Int weapon: Heysel Pick (especially when paired with the Dragonhead Shield) It lacks spellbuff but makes up for it with its utility and its R1 to Soul Greatsword true combo. Here's a video I made with the Heysel/Dragonhead Shield combo: th-cam.com/video/GoIR2Sl3qpQ/w-d-xo.html Honourable mention goes to the Immolation Tinder (as you can tell i have a thing for weapons that can also cast spells)
I am so happy that you actually listened to your community. I remember posting a comment on the last video being like "wtf why isn't the greatclub here" I have no idea if i was the one you listened to as a lot of people most likely said that. But either way, its great to see that you are listening to your community
Awesome, you adressed the topic from a better point of view than in the previous video (just my opinion). Props for the channel, been around pretty much since you started in ds2 and I love it.
Infused longsword or Lothric knight sword. Both are absolutely amazing int weapons, with great damage, solid reach, an amazing weapon art that roll catches AND breaks guard, and of course, early availability.
I feel like that might honestly be the best option if we were talking pure int builds, I think all the other int weapons require too much of a stat investment to claim one is using an int build.
Yup. Investing more stats in INT is always better as a sorcerer and not waste stats on strength and dex. It's low weight is also a +1. I think it does around 200 dmg each hit with is pretty good for a secondary weapon.
The Astora GS takes 15 points of investment to wield, though it isn't an immense investment, it's still a bit hefty for what is supposed to be an int build. It's also a bit on the heavy side at 8 units, not to mention faily slow as it is a UGS. Though it isn't a bad choice, I think a UGS somewhat conflicts with the playstyle of mages. Of course one doesn't necessarily need to be a mage to use an int build, but if you're going to infuse to go int build, you might as well just go Sharp, or quality build, would probably be more damage since it's all physical.
I feel a lot of people miss out on the Millwood Battle Axe. Great quick 1H weapon and you can pretty much suicide sprint to get it very early in the game if you have the DLC.
Greatsword of judgement good Int scaling and damage. Nice Range with weapon art Then the buff that adds more magic damage + magic clutch ring that adds even more magic damage to both the sword and buff. GG
Yuno Gasai same thought but a luttle more detailed why its good with more focus on moveset than stats and scaling. (if you find it and arent as lazy as i am you could create a combination of both so your comment comes in :)
With 40/40/40 and the buff I was getting around 690 damage with both good physical and magic. Managed to win a 2v1 with 9 kills 0 deaths in the arena, luckily they chose to 1v1 me rather than gank.
As a few others have said already, huge props to you for taking on criticism and updating the video. Few TH-camrs listen to their followers nowadays. Thank you! Also, in terms of intelligence weapon for PVE I'd definitely recommend Friede's Great Scythe. Great AR, can proc frost fairly easily (similar to Vordt's weapon) and has a brilliant AOE moveset for groups of enemies in PVE. Not to mention good reach and the fact that it looks awesome. Unsure how good it is for PVP, since people got used to it's 2-h L1 combo, most people won't get caught off guard. However if you do catch someone it can be deadly, especially with the frost effect. Thanks for your awesome videos!!
Also to add to this. Recently made an intelligence build using Moonlight Greatsword (nothing new to most, first time for me) and with STR/INT at min/60 its damage often surpasses that of strength beasts such as Dragonslayer's Greataxe etc. (I had the Magic clutch ring on too, but not crown of dusk). Very useful considering this all comes from your INT and therefore that stat is also used for your spells. Crazy good in PVE, untested in PVP for me atm. Imagine it's good since you have a greatsword moveset with crazy shield piercing damage and utility of spells.
You should have mentioned the Millwood Battle Axe. It has 541AR at 99 STR (66 2H). And it's relatively early game since you can access it from the first bonfire in the Painted World, which means you can get it as soon as you reach the Cleansing Chapel. Don't know about PVP but it's a beast in PVE.
Heysel's pick is a fantastic int weapon. It's light, has hyperarmor when you two-hand it, has a weapon art that buffs both spells and attacks, has thrusting damage for leo-ring counters, and it comes with the ability to cast spells which hit surprisingly hard relative to other casting weapons. It's main weakness is that you're limited to r1s on its moveset, but the ability to use melee spells like SGS, farron flashsword, dark edge and old moonlight gives you mixup potential at the cost of using attunement slots. Personally I love using it either on its own or with a GMS buffed weapon-art shield. Depending on what you do with it, you can just as easily play as aggressively or as passively as you'd like.
I've been trying a soul level 140 Pure Sorcerer build for quite a while, and I do have a favorite weapon I most often use. Crystal infused Lothric Knight Sword. Straight sword move set, when crystal infused, has an S scaling in Intelligence, making it a very nice option for a right handed weapon when using a catalyst in your left hand. Since its crystal infused, you don't have to take the time or the FP to buff it. Also, as with all straight swords, it has the r2 move which is able to roll catch, which can very easily put a lot of pressure onto your enemy, as it may bring them down to 1 hit ranged. Another new favorite of mine is the Aquamarine Dagger. The only issue with the Aquamarine Dagger is its low damage, and very high skill ceiling, but when you practice with it, you can end a fight without ever having to roll. While I don't think its the best, I do have to give Friede's Great Scythe a mention, as it does have an amazing weapon art that can be used to trade, but to do so, you'd be giving up your catalyst in your off-hand to use it, which can make it very obvious you're trying to trade. TL;DR Crystal Lothric Knight Sword has an S scaling in Intelligence and the Straight Sword move set. Aquamarine dagger is amazing but has a super high skill ceiling. Friede's has an amazing weapon art but very easy to predict. *Edit*: This is from a stand point of a PURE intelligence build. If you're going for a Intelligence and Dexterity build, you're much better off using the Friede's Scythe in terms of damage, if you practice its move set. Due to my build being a PURE intelligence, I use the Lothric Knight Sword. Build link, in case you were wondering: mugenmonkey.com/darksouls3/198567 Have an amazing day :)
I've been having fun with an Int-based build and crystal-infused twin daggers (plus Carthus Beacon and the Pontiff ring that increases attack with successive hits). It has some downsides but the damage output is better than I thought it would be, and it seems to catch people off-guard in PvP.
cool thing about dark souls is we can all have a different opinion..what weapon is the best can differ per individual depending on playstyle, pve, pvp, or specific weapon matchups..if i have a heavy infused mace many times it can counter the DUGS's yet may be less effective vs splitleaf so weapon matchups can play a key role in this as well..i personally chose the splitleaf cuz it's quicker and i dont like slow weapons cuz any competent player can roll for days and if they play reactionary u may never hit them..however I had no issue with ur choice of the dual UGS's cuz in the right hands and playstyle they work wonders..all that said I've got nothing but respect for u bro for listening to the community and caring enuf to consider their opinions..love ur channel, ur vids, and the type of dude u are..wish u the best fam
Great club is my strength weapon of choice. The only thing I don't like is the silly R2 after warcry is completely useless. Just leaves you wide open and damage is terrible unless fully charged. The regular R2 (without warcry) is AMAZING. And it true combos into r1 so you can basically one shot phantoms all day with two hits.
Awesome video, one thing I wish he mentioned was how the R2 goes into an R1 really quickly in the great club. It combos, but can also be used as bait, combining two R1s.
Great video So intelligence build weapons, imo PVE Moonlight Greatsword PvP Raw Longsword +10 with Crystal Magic Weapon buff. Assuming 60 int. the damage is above 500 a hit! What sells it is the ghost range the buff adds. It's really easy to roll catch and deliver damage due to the ghost range.
he never mentioned gundyrs halberd, harald greatsword, millwood axe longsword, zweihander, mornes hammer(if str faith builds count) dragon tooth, dragonslayer greataxe, all of those get amazing str scaling
they're good but not really worth considering among the best. For pubstomping fun probably gundyr's halberd but generally speaking those aren't mentioned due to certain flaws (e.g. axe class isn't good in pvp, mornes requires crazy stat investment even though quakestone or ledos works about as well on top of being better base greathammers)
Herald Curved Greatsword with dark/chaos infusions since it has an A in both int and faith. Has 717 AR and if you L2 then R2 the second smash then R1 for the leap, you one shot people.
Clerics Candlestick. It has a SS move set which is VERY good for both PvP and PvE. It has a ton of utility tripling as a catalyst and torch simultaneously. The ability to mixup with spells and attacks while having your offhand free to use for shields parrying or another catalyst/casting tool lets you mixup your attacks to where you can be extremely unpredictable. The easy to use straight sword move set allows you to fall back on fast swipes to punish overaggressive enemies. The downsides are that it cannot be infused, has a faith requirement which can mess with PURE INT builds, and low damage on both the AR and spells. If you're willing to sacrifice damage and a little INT in a meta build for utility and versatility, this weapon is your best bet.
First of all, I love your videos since a long time, so many cool and creative builds and I used a lot of them with pleasure. Keep up the good work! Also very nice to see you noticed your mistake on the Splitleaf Greatsword, it's quite a mess to fight this weapon in the arena considering how easy it is to land an R1 attack with a halberd, followed by a 1000 damage combo. Just one remark for your next video: Please check out Heysel Picks 2HR1 + Old Moonlight combo with Sage Ring +2! This combo is a MONSTER(!) and an entirely different way to play your mage in pvp! When I first used old moonlight in the arena, I thought this spell is 100% non-viable in pvp, but with Heysel Pick and reactive gameplay, it's a different story and really fun to play. Heysel Pick is such a nice tool combined with fast follow-up spells, I really love this weapon as an alternative to the good old moonlight greatsword or crystal infused longsword. Again, keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to your next video!
Awesome update. With my INT build I mainly used moonlight greatsword for PvP, solid PvE complimenting the spells. It's moveset is legit, especially catching people with the charger TwoHandedR2 ;) hue hue hue
Ahhhh yes this is awesome XD An obvious one comes to mind is Friede's scythe. Beyond the hyper armor and stylishness I think its something ya have to consider that is also does frost. And a lot of int based weapons sometimes suffer from not dealing good damage or as good of damage due to the split damage. Friede's suffers this to a lesser degree, especially when you get the frostbite which also decreases the physical defense. For a split damage weapon thats definitely a major advantage because it gives you that extra edge with lower stamina regen, the hp lost, and then the defense lost. One I can't say I'm certain of but i'd definitely look into would be the Cleric's candlestick. Its like the demons scar that it casts sorceries as its strong attack. It may not have a weapon art worth a damn but the things you can do with the spells available no doubt gives it a huge variety of options. Although you can also argue the Heysel's pic is better with its weapon art buffing the spells damage and the weapons overall attacks, while still getting to cast sorceries. Either or though ya should definitely look into man!
I loved that you actually listened to your fans constructive criticism. That said where is the greatsword and gundyrs halberd. For me gundyrs halberd is the best for PvP with splitleaf taking a close second and the greatsword is great for pve.
To anyone who is watching this, one of the best weapons to trade with split leaf gs and ringed knight pgs is the quake stone hammer because of the weapon art
Thank you Pvpskills, Glad to see you actually care about feedback and criticism, made me regain quite a lot of respect. Splitleaf Greatsword is a great choice for this video. I feel there could have been some room for Yhorms Great Machete, due to its insane damage, hyperarmor, reach, and decent speed, but that is a minor concern. this is a great do-over from the original video.
The Greatsword of Judgment is the best intelligent weapon in the game. Its scaling is nice because you can do a intelligence/quality hybrid. It also gains a pretty big magic buff and has two useful sword arts.
The Greatsword of Judgement is the best weapon for a quality/intelligence hybrid build. However we are talking about pure intelligence builds, with really high intelligence and low Str/Dex/Fth. That sword requieres a lot of investment in other stats in order to be viable. On the other hand, the Moonlight Greatsword gets really high AR with just 50 intelligence, so is best suited for a pure int build.
I always have an int build, I LOVED Crystal infused astora greatsword, or crystal gotthard twinswords. I also really adore the moonlight greatsword (a mage staple)
I don't have that much experience with inteligence weapons and while I could easily name the most obvius one, the Moonlight greatsword, I decided to go with two other weapons. 1. The crescent moon sword. Its a fast weapon and doesn't require any out of order skill points for an intelligence built. 2. maybe an Drakeblood Greatsword infused with an chaos gem. It requires some level ups in strength but the chaos gem adds intelligence scaling to the existing magic and lightning damage and adds fire damage so except for darkness it deals every sort of damage. For a great sword I think it's quite fast so I think its a good weapon for a mage if the opponent is getting to close
I find that the best melee weapons for a sorcerer build need to be fast. Your melee weapon will force your opponent to keep distance from you, which then gives you the chance to cast some dope spells at them. Straight swords are top tier with regards to moveset, so a crystal infused long sword will be extremely useful to sorcerer casters. Alternatively, the Immolation Tinder is a halberd that doubles as a catalyst. Using farron flashsword with it gives you speed, good damage, and insane range for close combat. The biggest downside is the stat requirements to use it. There are also 2 greatswords that compliment a sorcerer build, namely the Greatsword of Judgement, and of course the Moonlight Greatsword. The MLGS may actually be a top tier greatsword just by itself, and when you can be unpredictable with the use of spells, it becomes insanely good for PvP. I've tried each of these weapons, and in the end, that straight sword move set is just too good in PvP, so i usually use a Crystal infused Long sword. It also has minimal stat requirements so you can really focus your stats to 60 int and 30 attunement and still have the freedom of whatever else you're comfortable with for vigor and endurance.
I know this is not a recommendation about a specific strength weapon, more an idea I've subscribed to about using strength weapons in PvP. But I want to find out if anyone else will agree or disagree? Here it goes: Almost every Pvp player/youtuber I've listen too state that "In competitive, high level, pvp matches strength weapons are always outclassed by faster more reactive weapons". To which I agree, sort of...at any soul level above 101. But at that soul level you can get a lot of variation in builds. The vanilla quality build has to sacrifice some health or stamina which creates which makes a more even playing field for strength weapons as a whole since their damage is normally only based on 1 stat. The down side of stopping your build here is that inevitably you will be facing a lot of higher soul level hosts/invaders, but, not always. And when you do they are mostly at level 110-115. What do ya think?? Anyone?
I've been absolutely wrecking in pvp with Vordt's. It procs frostbite in 2 hits, and I use it with Pontiff's right eye, Sacred Oath, and Deep Protection at 66 str, so I'm frequently around 700 AR.
While making the assumption that the video about int weapons will not just be about which int weapon makes a decent riposte tool, I'll give my vote to the Cleric's Candlestick. It requires a small stat investment to wield, gets an A in int scaling, and can also be used as a sorcery catalyst. Would make a decent secondary, or perhaps even primary weapon if one were so inclined.
mmh, my go to for infused weapons (no matter which path) would be the thrall axe or (if I plan to invest on dexterity) either the corvian greatscythe, friedes scythe or the astora greatsword. the good thing on the thrall axe is that you can use it without pretty much any stat investment for str/dex, its very light, gets decent scaling from being infused and is one of the more damaging ones in its "weightclass". It also has the quickstep weapon art which comes in handy if you have to switch onto melee for some reason. the cons would be that its rather short, does split damage, deals (if viewed with all weapons in mind) not that much damage and can not be buffed. one of the bigger pros would probably be that you get it quite early, also infusing it with raw might be a good early alternative if you do not plan to invest into str/dex anyways. the corvian greatscythe too gets good scaling when infused while still keeping a rather decent dexterity-scaling, making it one of the better dex + int/fth weapons out there. gets utterly outclassed by friedes scythe later on tho, but thats a long way to go before you get your hands on that one... if you plan on using buffs a raw drakekeepers greatsword might be the best choice for int builds (can't really back this up because I'm not really into weaponbuffs so I never did that). I'm also not sure if buffing counts as "weapon for int builds"... If you dont mind some investment into str/dex then the greatsword of judgement might be the best choice due to the buff it receives due to the weapon art. aquamarine dagger and crystal sages rapier would be options too, especially for fashion souls, their actual use for pvp is kinda limited in my opinion tho, especially since their magic damage component does not work with counter damage (including the leo ring), which hits the rapier kinda hard in my opinion. and, of course, the moonlight greatsword, probably the best weapon for int-builds, but for pve you get it quite late (granted you dont do dancer early)
Here's my thoughts on Intelligence Weapons: Best Pure Int Weapon: Moonlight Greatsword - it doesn't have much competition, but non-split magic damage is really nice and the moveset's as good as ever. Best Hybrid Int Weapon: Friede's Great Scythe - not a fully Int weapon since it can technically function well with minimum Int, but still fantastic. My favorite build recently is running this on a Dex/Dark build with Murky Longstaff, since that stops scaling at 45 Int and you don't need much Faith. Best Weapon that doubles as a Catalyst: Heysel's Pick - the Soul Greatsword combo alone makes this worth considering. Best Crystal Infused Weapon: Astora Greatsword - this one's the hardest to choose, but Astora has the best balance of AR, moveset, and stat requirements. Honorable mentions for Zweihander (very comparable, more AR overall but heavier), Broadsword (very low stat reqs, great scaling, straight sword moveset - even makes a great sidearm), and Longsword (Ditto Broadsword, less AR but better moveset)
I really like your demon scar videos, I would like to see what you think overall of pyromancies or I guess anything relevant to the standard 40/40 int/fth. I have found that the dragon head shield to be very effective at roll catching and one of the main things (besides the demon scar and black serpent) that makes a pyro build versatile enough for pvp.
The cresent moon sword has 3 things going for it:1) It has the curved sword moveset which is the fastest so you can trade even with straight swords.2) It's weapon art charges up really fast, has good tracking so even when running sometimes you can't escape it and it can combo with 2 R1's so you have a 3 HIT combo there.3) It's viable in PvE & PvP. Unlike Friede's scythe, which works better on skilled hands in PvP, but they both use the same build so you can switch between them and the Aqumarine Dagger.Just my opinión but feel free to comment your favourite one or tell me if you think I'm wrong.
yeah vordth´s greathammer i used in NG all way through. creeps and bosses were an ease by the tremendous damage it deals while it hits like a fires by staggering enemies all alike. I would recommend this weapon for whole NG and then swap to a better scaling one in NG+ THanks for the videos i learned some more about DS3 once again
It's nice to see you actually listen to critique and feedback unlike other TH-camrs. You easily could've ignored them with how many likes the old video got. Shows that you actually care about the fans and what they say.
Seconded! Tons or respect to you skillz, really appreciate the effort you put out for us! If I wasn't happilly subbed already this would seal the deal
The best strength weapon? Yhorm's great Machete.

The Harald curved greatsword get's an S scaling when heavy infused, just saying...
Björn Eggert and the WA poises through everything
Björn Eggert I don't think it's the best strength weapon
but It's easily my fav
I love the HCGS, hits like a truck and the weapon art comes out so fast people usually don't have time to react, and when they try to panic roll away you can just catch them with the jumping attack. I use it with lighting blade and wreck face with it.
there is a problem with this. i tested the damage between the harald and the exile on my 66 strength character.
i noticed the ar of the exile being higher than the harald and thought it was because of base damage (both heavy infused duh) and sure enough, the base damage was higher, but what i also noticed was that the scaling damage of the A scaling from the exile was higher than the S scaling from the harald which is ridiculous imo. plus i find the weapon art of the exile more useful, great hyper armor and ridiculous damage.
wtf, that makes no sense, god dammit dark souls some consistency please.
am i the only one triggered by the fact that pontiff eyes dont trigger whit crow talons/ricard's rapier weapon art ?
now i am because i did not know that and the fact that pontiff eye rings dont trigger on the use of the crow talon or ricard's rapier weapon art
Mandrake It makes no sense you can't, especially considering how badly you can be punished if it missed. Does it work with the Frayed Blade's WA ?
good thing that from make their best to basically genocide anything that doesnt only rely on roll spam and parrying, it would really be too hard for me to chose between a fun build and another one that is so boring as fuck that i die from old age by using it
does it work with old wolf curve sword on your off hand?
no way, its the same mechanic
Best Int weapons (IMO):
-*Moonlight Greatsword*: B scaling for Int.
I got the splitleaf cause I thought halberds were cool, and I've been using it since. I had no idea it was so good.
same here! but i see it more and more, wich is good cause fighting the splitleaf is challenging.
You can see me using it in his Gael's greatsword vid, haha. My name was Birdman.
Found out it was the right choice soon after :D
i like using the light weapon art instead of the heavy
aquamarine dagger but dont tell anyone

Other than that is a fast and reliable weapon that deals tremendous damage
there are so many strength weapons. give him some slack
Icard even without the weapon art it still beats out the split leaf nobody can ever get a hit with it its move set is way 2 easy read and he barely mentions any weapons at all also the exile greayspwrd is a dex weapon mainly lol
not saying split leaf is bad but any souls veteran could read its moves
Cory Seavers it's a slow weapon for its size
I really respect that you made this. Few youtubers actually listen to critiques and even less make videos addressing those critiques, thank you.
Gottharts swords are really good when infused with a crystal gem
Thanks for the video, not new to the Dark Souls series but finally have time to sit down and play DS3 with dlc. Fan of STR users so this helps a lot because I hate not knowing what weapon to lvl up and wasting all my time on the wrong one.
Heavy Battle Axe is what I used to finish the game my first time.
You can just pick the Warrior class and never need to swap gear.
Nearly everbody finished the game first game with battle axe
@@gregoryinsanovic2925 what if you picked knight tho
The astora greatsword is pretty good with a crystal infusion, since it gets S scaling in intelligence
I'm so glad this game is still played today :D
very good follow up video, both of them together make for a very cohesive guide(ish) video. keep it up man!
Best Int weapon: Heysel Pick (especially when paired with the Dragonhead Shield) It lacks spellbuff but makes up for it with its utility and its R1 to Soul Greatsword true combo. Here's a video I made with the Heysel/Dragonhead Shield combo: th-cam.com/video/GoIR2Sl3qpQ/w-d-xo.html
Honourable mention goes to the Immolation Tinder (as you can tell i have a thing for weapons that can also cast spells)
Long Sword +10 with crystal infusion gives it an S Scalling in intelligence. A solid option.
I believe the Astora GS gets an S in INT when infused too. That and it's the fricking Astora GS.
Yeh good point.
THE REAL TOP STRENGTH WEAPONS

I feel a lot of people miss out on the Millwood Battle Axe. Great quick 1H weapon and you can pretty much suicide sprint to get it very early in the game if you have the DLC.
It is kinda sad that there is so little reason to use Gundyr's halberd over spitleaf now.
Imagine it's good since you have a greatsword moveset with crazy shield piercing damage and utility of spells.
thanks for making this
Crystal infused Astora Greatsword gets an S scaling in Int if I remember correctly, has thrusting attacks and great base damage to boot!

Have an amazing day :)
I like the millwood battle axe. Great damage for its speed. "Interesting" weapon art. Can be aquired early on
The Strong attacks for Ledo's Great Hammer are amazing. They're the biggest reason I was able to beat Midir way easier than I should
I've been having fun with an Int-based build and crystal-infused twin daggers (plus Carthus Beacon and the Pontiff ring that increases attack with successive hits). It has some downsides but the damage output is better than I thought it would be, and it seems to catch people off-guard in PvP.
Much better video, good on you man for listening to feedback. You have some of the best DS3 content, keep it up!
cool thing about dark souls is we can all have a different opinion..what weapon is the best can differ per individual depending on playstyle, pve, pvp, or specific weapon matchups..if i have a heavy infused mace many times it can counter the DUGS's yet may be less effective vs splitleaf so weapon matchups can play a key role in this as well..i personally chose the splitleaf cuz it's quicker and i dont like slow weapons cuz any competent player can roll for days and if they play reactionary u may never hit them..however I had no issue with ur choice of the dual UGS's cuz in the right hands and playstyle they work wonders..all that said I've got nothing but respect for u bro for listening to the community and caring enuf to consider their opinions..love ur channel, ur vids, and the type of dude u are..wish u the best fam
Anybody else hearing Gael's theme in the beginning of the video...chills man.
Good job, nice to see you change your opinion based on feedback and not state it's fact
Great video
So intelligence build weapons, imo
PVE Moonlight Greatsword
PvP Raw Longsword +10 with Crystal Magic Weapon buff.
For pubstomping fun probably gundyr's halberd but generally speaking those aren't mentioned due to certain flaws (e.g. axe class isn't good in pvp, mornes requires crazy stat investment even though quakestone or ledos works about as well on top of being better base greathammers)
watch the previous video
Herald Curved Greatsword with dark/chaos infusions since it has an A in both int and faith. Has 717 AR and if you L2 then R2 the second smash then R1 for the leap, you one shot people.
the aquamarine dagger paired with Friedas scythe and a weapon art shield is an amazing intelligence set up
Clerics Candlestick.

I had no idea Fire would reset the Frostbite back to zero. I mean, it makes sense, but still had no idea that was a thing. Neat.
Zweihander with gold pine resin. Its weapon art beats all trades and the moveset kick ass.
Crystal short sword:Low stamina consuption-Considerably high damage-Low requirements-Low weight and finally its a straigth sword so its BEAST
For me gundyrs halberd is the best for PvP with splitleaf taking a close second and the greatsword is great for pve.
smough's great hammer, when you can't see anything but space jam ptsd wrecks face
I’ll stick with my +10 Heavy Sword and +5 Dragonslayer Swordspear and also a Medicant Staff in my third slot because souls
Waaaaait! You can reset the frost meter?! Ooooooh mah gaaaawd that's going to change my streams so much now! Thank you so much for that intel!
Good job going back and fixing your video. Props to you!
I like the splitleaf because while actually a polearm, it counts as a greatsword
Much more accurate.
As for the next topic, I personally would ride with the Moonlight Greatsword due to the mix up potential.
I always have an int build, I LOVED Crystal infused astora greatsword, or crystal gotthard twinswords. I also really adore the moonlight greatsword (a mage staple)
The Splitleaf Greatsword has been nerfed. It now consumes so much stamina and is significantly slower.
I'm kinda surprised the quakestone hammer didn't show up, with it's good range, moderate/high ar, and monstrously powerful weapon art.
BKGS is my all time favourite weapon and what I love playing with. The R1 -180 - R2 ....my favourite combo
now you have come to your senses
3:32 i didn't know this thank you,i complete the game la 10th times and I'm still learning new things about this game.
Anyone?
a fun fact for the splitleaf is that its spin attack can deflect projectiles
I've been absolutely wrecking in pvp with Vordt's. It procs frostbite in 2
hits, and I use it with Pontiff's right eye, Sacred Oath, and Deep
Protection at 66 str, so I'm frequently around 700 AR.
Vordt's Great Hammer with a fire infused offhand or pyrofist :) Stay in 2 handed until you want to reset frostbite.
Because you absolutely must cosplay an Abyss Watcher while using Farron Greatsword. I can relate to that.
Here's my thoughts on Intelligence Weapons:
Best Pure Int Weapon: Moonlight Greatsword - it doesn't have much competition, but non-split magic damage is really nice and the moveset's as good as ever.
Wow this is the best update to a video that I have seen in a while...
Unlike Friede's scythe, which works better on skilled hands in PvP, but they both use the same build so you can switch between them and the Aqumarine Dagger.Just my opinión but feel free to comment your favourite one or tell me if you think I'm wrong.
quick update:ina a 40dex 40 int build you also have access to evry dex weapon
yeah vordth´s greathammer i used in NG all way through. creeps and bosses were an ease by the tremendous damage it deals while it hits like a fires by staggering enemies all alike.
I would recommend this weapon for whole NG and then swap to a better scaling one in NG+
THanks for the videos i learned some more about DS3 once again
