- If you raise your volume up or down and can see the volume bar move but can't hear any sound but can hear sound with your headphone or headset in then your headphone mode is stuck. Try this easy step before you take your phone to the repair shop. It is highly possible that link, dirt, dust, water, etc is causing this issue inside your headphone jack.

This really does work, my speaker sound went out after dropping the phone, twice. It's not internal wiring that broke. The first I fixed with the qtip. Second time didn't work with a qtip, but did work with a pin (not the sharp end, but get one with a really small flat end. Probably would be same as paper clip.) Just move it all around - doesn't have to be hard.
I did everything and still cant hear anything, lol. I can ONLY hear with my headphones, thats it. !!!

At first it didn't work. I just thought wow, another thing stressing me try playing the music. I just wanted to start another video. After 10 seconds I realized that I heard the sound without headphones so it worked! Thank you!

Thank you so much, my wife used a q-tip and cleaned it out where the headphones go for 5 seconds and the volume worked on our daughters phone. Saved us a trip to the phone store. Thank you again, very much appreciated.
The tip trick worked for me.
Another hint is to see, whether the video suddenly pauses, when you try to clean the jack, because in newer models, when you remove jack when listening to audio, it pauses music / video. Hit play and it should work again

In case anybody needs another idea, I found a different fix for mine. Under my Spotify it mentioned Wired Headphones instead of phone speaker.
So if you try clicking, and connect to another Bluetooth device that is disconnected, it may jumpstart your device back to phone speaker.
You might be able to access it in your pull down menu at the top of you have a media player playing something. It worked for me.

If this method doesn't work I fixed my phone by downloading this app called "SoundAbout"(if you search this up in the play store you should find it).Download it and then set the audio to speaker and it should work!

@@its_me6345 lol hi i wrote that comment 11 months ago but i still remember how i got the sound working again! I just downloaded an app its called “Headset Toggle“ its a grey icon with a microphone with a slash thru it! I hope this helps! If you still need help feel free to reply back :)
I've got an iPhone 5s and no earphones work on my phone. Without earphones, it works but with, it doesn't

So my phone fell in water and sound stopped coming from my phone. Only sound that was coming was from the bottom speaker when i called someone and put the call on loud speaker. I did this method and my speaker started working again. Thanks a lot bro

I watched this without sound and followed the video (it's not that difficult to do for those complaining they can't hear the vid bcse of this or that, luckily you still have a visual). This worked perfectly for me after dropping my phone in water 😉 I can't believe it did

Thanks, worked for me...sort of....did the Qtip thing, and yes, it was dirty in there...still did not work. So I simply plugged in a set of speakers (which had sound) and then unplugged, and it started up...

My sound wasn't working so I kinda did what you said. I took a toothpick and wiggled it in the headphone jack for about a minute and then blew into it and the sound worked.
