YES, finally people giving some love to TeiN. That game is very underrated. It has connections to Isaac, the fandom should be more interested on it. The mod seems to be very inspired by Øuroboros, the scrapped game that became TeiN
It’s interesting that the Steven monster calls you Steven if you encounter him in the future because according the Edmund Steven is what isaac would have turned out as if he hadn’t died as a child.
I think the best interesting fact aside form its obvious amazing implementation is the fact that it replaces Depths 1. Most floor mods either wanna create a completely separate path or just replace basement or downpour, making runs die down fast in excitement after the first chapter cause the modded content drops from 100 to 0 immediately. We need more of these custom craftable runs.
No offense but I'm a bit confused what this comment is referring to, there's currently only three new floor mods for Repentance (including this one), none of which replace the Basement
Oh, oops, in my head I count basement and downpour to somewhat the same chapter as you already have to make a decision what to leave behind there. I was also factoring in several mods that were in developement (and probably cancelled idk) that all seemed to wanna take the Revelations approach. Which is fine dont get me wrong! But most of them are stuck in dev hell for years and were planned to have the first chapter be playable eventually or sth, maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. The comment wasnt particularly to bash on said mods but to highlight the Future approach of having a special extra floor that doesnt really take away from any path but still revamps and spices up the experience! I heard there was a Rehaul mod planned for cathedral that does sth similar but I have no idea if that is still in active development so take it with a grain of salt

It’s really nice seeing The End is Nigh getting the respect it deserves, I’ve been a fan ever since 2017 and it’s become one of my favorite platformers, right up there with Celeste. Also love how the pipe enemies use the Pizza Tower pipe sound effect
FINALLY TEIN GETS SOME ATTENTION!!! As a huge TEIN fan and modder I had a huge grin on my face all throughout the video. ESPECIALLY with the custom boss- all the little details are so good. If you haven’t ever played The End is Nigh, you really have to. Even Ed considers it his favorite game that he’s made, it’s a painfully under appreciated masterpiece
I kinda feel sad that repentance doesn't have any End is Nigh references, it's such an amazing game and in my opinion it could blend in Isaac very well
i think there's a lot of enemies in gehenna that are inspired by tein's zone by the same name, both gehennas look quite similar too, all red, hellish and stuff

i screamed of joy when i saw the skull thing that comes from the water in the sewers level, and this mod just made me scram all the way of its duration (sorry bout my english man, im still learning)
This feels like a mix of TEiN and Time Fcuk elements to me, what with the time loop and Steven giving you a higher change to encounter the room needed to access the floor.
pretty neat how the boss of this floor resembles the protagonist of the end is nigh, and the tumors surrounding him represent the locations in the game
i always thought the world of Time Fcuk and The End is Nigh was so interesting and the way it was implemented here might actually somewhat make sense in the canon
I never played The End Is Nigh but i kinda want to. Also i hope we get to se more items and bosses in this mod! Maybe if they are crazy enough they could make a floor based on super meat boy, the other edmund mcmillen platformer?
So any character picks iron cart become Ash except... Blue Baby becomes Friend after picking up Iron Cart Keeper becomes scalper after picking up Iron Cart And finally... Apollyon becomes a different statue with a face of a random enemy after picking up Iron Cart!
Doing that would be quite the task as every costume consists of 2 separate files that need to manually be created into an usable image... so unless I think of some automated way to speed up the process, I don't think it would be doable.
