I kinda feel where they are coming from, when they say they don't date broke men. It makes sense for the way they live their lives. But broke men need love too I suppose.
It's just that dating someone with potential can be a dangerous game. 1) That potential may never be realized and she's attached herself to only a dream lol. 2)There are plenty of women who invest all this labor into supporting men and motivating them, only to be left by them for someone new. It's noble, I guess, but it's also a risk.
I'd say don't neglect your own dreams or sacrifice things you can do for yourself to support a partner, bc there is a chance u end up alone with nothing lol.
That's one thing I will say a lot of men are smart about. They may invest in a woman's dreams, but not at their own detriment. Black women in particular are almost taught that we aren't good women and aren't down enough if we don't, and that's def bs.
