My story and experience. My husband drives and I was passenger at the time in Catford. A car drive reckless and got upset when my husband horn. They stop sudden and we too stop. Two young men come out and behaving gangster like and their hand in their coat, which look like the shape of gun. Subhanallaah I ask my husband to keep calm and don’t make eye contact. He agreed. They both move towards our car and look agitated. One of them saw me, and I make eye contact briefly. He look at me and he look shocked , he lower his gaze and walk back to their car. His partner look at him and rush to their car. Alhamdulillah we both fine. I believe it’s my hijab and Hisnul Muslim protect us. 6:13

I’m a revert. I’ve had so many misconceptions about the hijab while growing up in the US. Much of it being how Islam is portrayed in the media. Now I understand that the hijab is a safeguard. It’s a way for a woman to be judged based on what they say and do and not on how they look.

Exactly, my non-Muslim male teachers at college lower their gazes when they see me in hijab, and again they're non-Muslims, and when they talk they talk necessary with utmost respect, while my Muslim brothers don't. But there is no doubt hijab empowers you infront of men.

I haven't tried yet, but I would assume it shouldn't take that long, is there no masjid near you? If you regularly pray there, the other men that pray there will know women looking for husbands like their daughters and sisters. Btw, you didn't say it exactly but beware of saying phrases like "destroyed an entire generation". There's an authentic hadith from the two saihihayn where the prophet peace be upon him says "Whoever says the people are ruined, he is the worst of them".
So then why not marry a revert? A lot of born Muslim have prejudice towards reverts but they forget that the best of ummah (the sahabah) were all reverts.

One of the most misconceptions so many Muslim people keep saying is "the coice game". This idea obviously came from the liberalism and fiminism movements. There is no such thing as a blank choice as adapted by people in Islam. We have COMMANDS from Allah we must stick to. If we disobey, that's a SIN. Our soul can be either guided or strayed, the key control is in our hand. That choice is ours. Allah says in the Quran that he succeeded who guided it to the straight path, and he losed who spoiled it (chapter 91 the sun).

People need to assimilate that the 1st of all things to do any kind of worship is because it's a COMMAND from Allah ﷻ, The One Who creates us and give us oxygen to breath and eyes to see and brain to reflect and heart to submit! So He didn't ask for our opinion or needed our permission before giving the Command and He doesn't have to give us the wisdom behind every command or prohibition. If one believe that The Creator is the All-knowing, All-wise, Capable of all things,... they wouldn't question every single law (that probably doesn't go with their whims and desires) and that's what we call ISLAM (Submission to the Will of our Creator ALONE over any other will). Still it is a CHOICE (Allah ﷻ has given us) to choose to submit to Him or to reject His commands and DENY HIS FAVOURS UPON US. Yes nobody can force her to wear the hijab but we need to also mention it is a command from her Lord and obligatory one.
