Something worse than the Mamasapano clash happened during Marcos. It was the Patikul Massacre of 1977. 35 military soldiers including 1 General were sent without weapons and back up to meet up with MNLF rebels. The 35 men, including my 20 year old uncle, were helplessly massacred. Walang kalaban laban. General Teodulfo was decapitated. The aid that Marcos gave to the families of the fallen soldiers in the massacre is insignificant compared to what the families of SAF44 received.

Hindi ako supporter ng liberal party at lalong hindi ako supporter ni Pnoy pero Taos puso po akong nakiki dalamhati sa pamilya niya at ng mga taga suporta. Politics should be set aside when somebody passed away no matter what is their political color. He may not serve the country right and his policy may not always be perfect but the bottom line is that he serves our country of 100 plus million people and I understand that being a leader is not always that easy. I humbly extend my condolences to the bereaved family and hope that this will be the step to unite us as one country regardless of our political color.
