Friday Night Funkin' is a rhythm game in which the player controls a character called Boyfriend, who must defeat a series of opponents in order to continue dating his significant other, Girlfriend. The player must pass multiple levels, referred to as "weeks", each containing three songs. Each week, the player faces a different opponent, though some deviate in structure from this via the inclusion of multiple opponents. During gameplay, the opponent will sing a pattern of notes (represented as arrows) which the player must then mirror by using the arrow keys or the W, A, S, and D keys. Some songs introduce more complicated patterns, with the player's pattern sometimes varying from the opponent's or both singers engaging in a duet.
This song is not for Friday Night Funkin: Vs. Sonic.exe V3, Vs. Imposter V4, Mario's Madness V2, Sonic.exe Rerun, The Pibby Doof Mod, Antipathy V2, Ourple Guy V2, or any other popular FNF mod. This is for the Rerun UST/Rerun Unofficial Soundtrack which is a fan project directed by DJ Awesome featuring songs like Gamebreaker DJcore, Post Mortem, Yousti, Enterprise, and many more to be announced! i love portrayals of sonic.exe where he doesn't seem to command that much respect. Like he's a rookie demon that just so happened to also be a fan of Sonic, so he's still kind of learning the ropes and trying just a bit too hard to seem scary and edgy (especially when compared to someone like Ultra M from Mario's Madness, who is almost always in control).
Like, Ultra M had to wear down BF both physically and psychologically for over 8 minutes to finally get him to lower his guard enough so that he could kill him mid-song.
But then Diablo over here came looking like so much of a pushover that BF willingly lowered his guard to try and throw hands, only to then inmediately get his shit rocked.

throughout my time being an fnf fan, no song has made me so excited as this fucking song.
diablo is such a fucking awesome take on exe, actually he doesnt feel like an exe but his own thing, which is fucking awesome he feels like a legitimate villain instead of some extraterrestrial demon or something.
what i was also not expecting were the LYRICAL sections. diablo has such a powerful voice that shows his power. but what i TRULY wasnt expecting was for BOYFRIEND to bite back with his own lyrical segment. his voice was also great to listen to, and it really makes it feel like boyfriend can actually fight back against diablo, despite the unfortunate and brutal demise he faces at the end.
overall this surpassed my expectations so high that my 'expectations met' meter fucking blew up. this will forever be in my head for the next 3 weeks i guarantee it.

The use of "Play With me" legit gave me chills. I love this new trend of atonals for the featured exe, he always sounds so cool which is...a feat for any version of X. I've been waiting for this song to drop (lol) for a while, and I gotta say, it did NOT disappoint, this was an absolute treat, both visually and musically, the visuals and animation were genuinely jaw dropping, and the song itself is pretty much just as good, this is leaps and bounds over what I would've expected out of any exe song and a major improvement over Post Mortem, everyone involved did an amazing job, bravo to the whole team
