I want to agree with you, but it's true that Chen's existence came out unexpectedly, so I'm nervous. I hope that characters that harm balance will not appear often in the future.

If Caster Amiya wasnt frail, she could do the same. Also, while on the subject RIP Amiya's True damage role. At first some Ops only had it as a small bonus like Franka, Cliffheart, Nightmare. Now HG is just giving it to everyone

I like her so much. I mean, she's pretty good for every gameplay and content. If you want helidrop? Just use skill 2, want to use her like blaze? Use skill 1, if you want true damage? Use skill 3. Her damage might not high as chelter. but for utilities, all of her skill pretty good af
I'm really partial to the S1 because A- I really like permanent upgrade skills like that and B- it would allow me to drop her in first, get the skill going, then plant Blemi in front of her and dare the planet to break through that lane if they can.
She really does play the role of a duelist. Good for deleting a target but her effectiveness falls off drastically when surrounded by mobs. So many people are quick to assume she's OP when there is one glaring blindspot on her skill. If anything, she's niche like Weedy. Her true dmg is a nice feature but not something that impressive. Exu/Ash can outdamage her with we start talking about team synergies (and AK is all about skill synergies). I'll probably rate her a tier lower compared to Surtr and alter Chen.
I remember seeing people talk about how much better Weedy was than W back before EN had 1st Anniversary, saying things like "Weedy is OP." or "Weedy has more uses than W." or things to that effect. Then Anniversary came around and I never saw another person say Weedy is OP. In truth, Weedy holds true to her class; a Specialist, she specializes in one thing and does that job well. Nearl is similar. I've seen people, even in this very comment section, saying she's better than Surtr. Hell, there were people saying that before she even got released! Although that's nothing new for EN. People see big numbers and True Damage and immediately want to say she's better than Surtr. People want to overhype stuff. The concept that an Operator is just decent isn't something some people want to accept.
I definitely think Nearl has some glaring weaknesses. Her S3 may be stronger but I feel like I'd use her s2 a lot purely because it ignores deployment limit. If I need huge damage then both Kalt'sit and Surtr s3 seem like more consistent choices that are also easier to use.

Her damage is pretty nutty, but the shield mechanics are rough. Extremely good at assassinating one big target, but not great when crowds come in (almost feels like melee Rosmontis S3 to me)
NTR Knight is nice so I'll be pulling for her once she comes to EN. Although I'm not going to burn all my resources for her. Looks like they keep releasing units that summons an entity or something.
They really just took CN community's suggestions/ wishlist for buffs to base Skadi (True damage & way more lenient sp requirement) only to retooled it for Nearl Alter..... NTR knight aptly named.
Man the new Blemishine skin looks absolutely stunning. As for Nearl while i do like her design alot and i will definitely get her, i still feel like Surtr will be my go to when i need a boss killer. Really wish her S3 did a bit more dmg especially since it's ST. Still overall a pretty great operator
Why not both?! Since you can only deploy 10 operators (sometimes less) while you can take 12 operators with you (usually), just go with Nearl's second skill and drop her to burn the boss even faster. Unless they are the physical super-tank type of bosses. It's not like there are that many maps that require shifting operators around to need all 12 slots for lasting characters. Skill 3 is certainly nice if you don't have an alternative for frequent bursts, but skill 2 is the one that has the most application. It can speed up maps where no other operator can speed them up anymore (due to deploy limit), as well as speed up burning bosses even while you already have a horde of operators dealing with the trash on multiple lanes.
Don't worry Skadi, you are my only duelist guard. Let's wait till they give you a module that gives you a critical chance and let you to ignore enemy's defense. For now, you shall stay in your idol form
I'll cope with a module that increases the initial sp of her s3 for it to be a helidrop skill. Also will finally have an excuse to bring gladia anywhere

Keep in mind that iirc, Chen is 2nd most earning banner after Skadi(exc limited), and they have been struggling to recreate a successful(read:mega earning) banner since W. Then they managed to pull it off at Skalter. So yeah, they probably took notes from Skalter. Popular+Alter+Strong seems to be a big hit so next it was Chen Alter. This time they amplify the strong part into surtr level broken.

When I saw her 3 skills, there was something more regrettable than other OP guards. I think 2 skills will be more valuable.
She's very powerful with skill on but apparently her prime defense numbers are still weaker than many other defense defenders
