Funny how y'all don't mention Fire/EMS. Perhaps y'all think we wear FlipFlops or something... But that's okay because none of those boots soles will last 365 days on concrete anyway. Trust me no boot has in my 31 years of service...
Lowa Desert Elite...got me through 2 out of 3 tours of Helmand...the first tour I used the British Army issued garbage and had endless issues with my feet (and the boots falling apart on me), smartened up and spent my own money on 2 pairs of Lowa`s each time I deployed...still have one of the last pairs I bought back in 2012 and they are still going strong!
Lowa Zephyr (GTX or non-GTX) are some seriously comfortable boots but they do struggle when the ground is icey or if you’re walking on certain types of floors that are “slippy”. That said, they’re great for everything else, really supportive, doesn’t crush your feet, comfy and good design. They don’t look out of place if you’re wearing jeans. If Lowa are able to resolve or improve the grip issue then their boots will continue to fly off the shelves!
In my opinion Lowa zephyr are the best boots I have ever been using. Also, myny people in my unit use this shoes and I have never seen these boots unstucked or something like that... I personaly used this boots also for long marches like 100km and I also didn't suffer for any blisters.

Yeah the Under Armor in my opinion are complete garbage. The Bates at number one , Bates used to make good boots, the last pair I had. The right boot completely came apart , all the stitching came loose.
I am a contractor working in Iraq, I walked on average around 7500 steps daily on hard surfaces and after reviewing the Zephyr GTX GF, I decided to purchase from Back Country (Feb 2022). I bought a pair, half size bigger, based on reviews. In Iraq, the summer temperatures and heat conditions can go as high as 124 degrees F It rarely rains and it is dusty. The boots are gore-tex and I really do not need them based on weather conditions. After using the boots for several months one of the left boot eyelets snapped. The boot is hot for the ambient temperature. I use a good pair of socks and used Dr. Sholls CF 440 insoles. The vendor will replace the boot.

Same as Oboz. I loved them for the comfort but when the temperature gets below freezing, the rubber gets so hard it feels like you’re ice-skating. My go to is always the Saloman forces. Any version will work. With my job I do 40 miles a week through different terrains, so trust me when I tell you these are the best options.
Seriously no Soloman GTX4??? 10 years ago Merrell was a good product with good customers service. Now all they make is junk accross the board and all of their shoes fall apart in less than a year. Not the same company they used to be. Rocky has always been good for hunting, and they are still strong in the market accross the board. 511 "Is great on flat surfaces". LOL Yep all their stuff is junk as well. If any boot has "Venting holes" that let the moisture out to dry isn't waterproof enough and is junk as well.
Danner rat is the best imo because of the stitch down construction and the Vibram sole, that will be able to be repaired in the future, whereas all the others are either cemented or fused and will have to be thrown away instead
Danner is reliable - that's it. No comfort, heavy veight, bulky. If you get your feet in Lowa you will fill the real difference, it's like jumping from some mid 80tees Chevy or Ford to 2020 Europian Audi A6 Allroad. Completely different world.
@@sir.fountain I undestood you, but my Zephyrs GTX TF are already 7 year old, bought them in early 2015. They were like new after my first war with ruzzia experience, 2015-2016, and now they help me on the other war with ruzzians which is still going hard in Ukraine. And I wore them as a civilian hiking and outdoor shoes regularly, but they still going really strong, still waterproof, no problem with outersole or innersole, nothing has fallen appart or broken.
