This was a beautiful result considering how little experience you have with textile art. Okita's pieces look deceptively simple, which is part of their beauty. Many of her pieces are mostly embroidery and/or hand sewn parts. Embroidery of that kind takes a buttload of time, like I'm not even kidding, so long! (I'm not sure how important a sewing machine would be.) When embroidering, the floss builds up and creates alot of stability, thereby you can begin with a thinner fabric and use it as kind of a "skeleton" and build your own custom fabric around it, such as colouring and patterns of a moth. It's easy to get discouraged and if you don't enjoy the craft then scrap it but there's alot of development and progress waiting to happen if you stick to it. Sry for the long comment, I just want you to know that it's harder than it looks and any initial results are not necessarily a reflection of your creative abilities but your experience and knowledge of methods and techniques. Very entertaining and inspiring video like always 10/10

something I've always struggled with in craft is choosing what to make, because I'm always scared I'll make something I don't want or need (I've been this way since I was a kid, and now I have a lot of "kid makes firstbsock puppet" type sets because of it). perhaps inadvertently given your "why did I make this" you've helped inspire me to make stuff regardless of whether I know how to make it the best it could possibly be or whether it's something I actually have a purpose for. so thank you for that!
Aw no worries, and just so you know I have and still struggle with this! especially making something with no purpose! (Which results in me throwing away a lot of stuff I make but oh well)
