Awesome video. What I love most about your videos is there is NO Music. Love it! Thanks for just providing the sounds you encounter and your commentary. I look forward to your videos every week! Thanks!
I’ve lived in Oregon most of my 43 years. There is nowhere else I’d rather live. Sometimes I take the natural beauty for granted. This channel really helps me appreciate what I have here.
It’s interesting how much a short video can capture of the wonderful scenery in your videos today. It’s like taking a bit of sunlight and putting it into a bottle. And then opening it late in the night and filling the sky with sunlight. Thanks for this video presentation, I enjoyed every second!
I couldn't be happier for you. I know you don't read these comments but you have to know that you have inspired me. 2 years ago my 1999 Jeep wranglers blew a head gasket with 300,000 miles on it. After pulling the head I realized the engine needed to be replaced. I gave up on exploring with the Jeep, the one thing that I loved doing the most. That was until I started watching your videos. My daughter ( 6 years ) watches your videos with me on occasion and asked," why we don't do that". She loves road trips in my 2019 scat pack 392 Dodge Challenger and the mountains of the PNW. That's when it hit me. What am I doing!? There is an adventure minutes away and what better person to share it with than my daughter. I would be a horrible father if I didn't put a new / rebuilt engine in the Jeep. Now she wants to film the adventure from the beginning. You and your videos have changed my life for the better. Thank you.
I hope he got the Ursa Minor top replaced for free. He is the single best advertisement for their product, plus he often represents them at Overland Expo.
Chris, I like the simplicity of your meals. Stay healthy and thanks for sharing. I like that you give just enough info to get me interested in the area and then I have to go and find the things you are sharing. Thanks
This man is proof all you need is coffee, Costco hot dogs, a Jeep, and camping with no reservations required to be happy. Well, adding a dog would make it perfect.
My wife says it’s so weird that you were in Lincoln city at the same time we were and Ursa Minor a day later. It’s probably a good thing we didn’t run into one another because you would have probably gotten that weird stalker vibe. You are our favorite celebrity and this is our favorite show!
The Oregon coastline is one of my favorite areas in the world. I was stationed at North Bend AFS in '69 as a young medic. Lincoln City and Mt. Hebo are beautiful. I used to travel with our dentist and his technician up to Mt. Hobo radar site to help provide medical support to the small contingency up on the site. If I ever move back to the west coast, Oregon will be my choice as it is a true paradise for us outdoorsmen. Thank you, Chris, for sharing this episode...a special one for me.
Glad you managed to see more of Oregon. Coastal beaches, rain forests, lush valleys, snow covered mountains and high deserts. Pretty much a little bit of everything, and no sales tax.
I just got back from a 2k mile loop through CO. I have a new appreciation for both your filming work and Jeep living. I never launched my drone or set out any action cams, just used the iPhone and dash cam. The dog and I did have a good trip even with the insane crowds currently recreating to get out of the house... Keep up the great work!
Welcome to my neck of the woods!... And we just traded paths.. I returned from Montana yesterday back home in the Sherwood area. And aint that return hike from heart a bastard? Straight up!
I think if you were to drag a small “drift sock” behind that inflatable kayak it might help stabilize that side to side motion while paddling. They are light and don’t take up much room. Just a thought.
Chris, Once again, a fabulous episode. You really have a way of stirring my wanderlust with all of these beautiful places that you take us. I can't wait until Thursday when I can watch this episode again with my granddaughter. She always asks me about your videos. "Papa, did the Jeep Guy make another video yet?"
Incredible shots, camera work and editing. It is really professional. I like the ambient sounds. It reminds me of the last clips on Sunday Morning on CBS on Sundays.
It reminded me of Jason on the Primal Outdoor Channel in his recent vlog, "4x4 Van - I'm your Huckleberry". 2:00 minutes into the video, Jason who always has a chain saw, is stopped by a fallen tree across his path. Instead Jason pulls a pruning saw like Chris' and starts sawing this 20" diameter tree...I am thinking WTF? Then after he saws 1/2 was through it, he pulls a change of tools and out comes his familiar Remington chainsaw and saws the tree properly! Ha! Chris and Jason always the jokers!
Hello Chris. First, thank you very much for sharing your experience! I am Walter, from Buenos Aires, Argentina. With my family we started doing "Overlanding" about 7 years ago in our Patagonia. I must start photographing and filming these trips ... Amazing timeshare. Regarding the zipper that is failing in your tent. You can make a temporary arrangement for it. With a small tweezer you can give it a slight squeeze on the back of the zipper carriage, that will make it tighten and bring the teeth of the zipper closer together and will make it last at least one more time ... until its replacement. Good luck with that!!! Thanks again for showing what we can do when we really put our minds to it. Cordial greeting !!! (I´m sorry about my poor english...)
We love your channel and love exploring too. Glad you are enjoying our State. When I first watched this I automatically said "he's at the coast" because that coastal forest is so lush.
I tried to wait to see this, but....well, I couldn’t! Awesome forest! So beautiful! And to see forest and coastline is so different from here on the east coast...cant wait to see Montana. Stay safe, Chris!
Wow, thanks Chris that opening sequence instantly made me feel calm and incredibly jealous at the same time. You are truly talented as a cinematographer please don't ever stop!
Just discovered your channel while looking for an overview of the Ursa Miner (great video). Glad your enjoying our little slice of heaven. We have a residence in Waldport OR, south of Newport. Love the Lincoln city area, especially during the Kite Festival. Look forward to watching some of your future adventures. I have a new Bronco reserved and I understand Ursa is looking at a similar setup for the Bronco. Happy Trails.
I lived on the coast of Oregon 400 ft above the ocean with 100-mile views for 3 years in the Siuslaw National Forest near Florence. It is beautiful there, but the wind blows 20-30mph every day all year long after about 12 Noon and continues until sunset. In the winter it can blow harder and with rain or rarely sleet. In Summer the temperature never really gets above 75 and it is 5-8 degrees cooler on the beach with that 20+ mph wind. I think I wore shorts maybe 5 times but always wore fleece.
Great content Chris, Great video, Beautiful shots for the forest and coastal areas. I really want to visit that area. I alway look forward to you next adventure. Safe travels..
Chris, love your channel. I think of your work as a scout, detailing places to visit for the troops that follow. You ever consider bake potatoes? Wrap in foil and throw in fire. Save some for next morning for hashbrowns.
When I saw the views in the opening of this video I thought... “I want to win the lottery and build a home right there!”. Then I figured it wouldn’t be the same with a house sticking out of the ground there. So I scrapped that idea, and now I am just settling with winning the lottery! 🤪
I love Oregon, some of my best memories as a kid was when we visited my relative's farm there (I even remember seeing the sun one day). I was however a little disappointed to see you bypass Idaho altogether. I'd like to visit a relative in Idaho and do some overlanding in the near future.
Just heard about your channel from the podcast The Grey Nato. With your new zippers consider cleaning them regularly and using a basic paraffin wax on the teeth now and then. In an emergency, crimping the sliders just a bit can help keep old zippers from separating too badly, but with your new setup you should be fine for years to come. Safe travels!
I was wondering if I was gonna see some of my favorite places in my local woods, within this video!. South lake is an awesome location. Its usually super hard to land a campsite on the weekends of summer though!
It’s a pretty nice area indeed. I road tripped thru there from Canada, with 2 golden retrievers. I have pics of them on those two beaches. Thank you for the memory 🤟🇨🇦
Hi, Although I tried to post this in the "Running of the tripod" video I found the comments were off there. I remember watching a guy years ago named Dick Proenneke doing a similar thing. But this was back in 1967 and he was in his 50's. It was a PBS show. He was living in Alaska alone in a shelter he built himself and he shows all of it via video much like the You tubers today do. At the time I was watching it I thought he had a film crew with him but he did just what you were doing with going back after the camera after getting that walking away shot. Anyway I enjoy your videos and have a new appreciation for Jeeps! All the best! -Jon
Somethinf about your videos i love. Its peaceful lol. Keep them coming. Make another trip to NL also. Would be awesome to meet up for a trip in jeeps. Fresh cod , crab watever you want, its all free in a few mins away..
You're right - is absolutely beautiful scenery. Would be cool to see the work done at the Ursa Minor place. Where's your little gal-friend? Drive safe and see you next week in Montana.
Go to the pizza schmizza public house in sherwood is the bomb, i live in tigard.. welcome to town my friend! Ooh and if you want to hit up one last great trail before montana, take bennett pass road in to badger lake
Wow, great work Chris. I'm loving watching your travels. I really appreciate the fact that you share the tough decisions on maintenance and all that along with the good times. I also like the way you don't edit out some of the goofs you make like falling and slipping when hiking. It makes it more real. Have been cooped up here at home for the last year and am ready to travel myself and have enjoyed sharing your experiences with you. Btw, what is it with people and not liking ketchup on hotdogs? Is there any other way to eat hotdogs? What was the green stuff you put on the hotdogs at the beginning of this episode. Keep up the good work.
Chris, I wish I knew ahead of time that you were going to be in my neck of the woods this week. I'm only about 35-40 mins north of Sherwood and could have got a beer/pizza with ya. Unfortunately, strarting tonight the 4 days is 12 hour night shifts. Happy trails to Montana!! Come back and see Oregon again soon.
Only you could pull off the first 4 min in silence with stunning scenery and already begin to tell your story. Great job!
Yeah the silence/ no music of this channel is so under rated.
I think it was Living the Van Life did either close to or an entire video like that.
It’s interesting how much a short video can capture of the wonderful scenery in your videos today. It’s like taking a bit of sunlight and putting it into a bottle. And then opening it late in the night and filling the sky with sunlight. Thanks for this video presentation, I enjoyed every second!

Ursa Minor and Jeep have been flawless these four years.
This man is proof all you need is coffee, Costco hot dogs, a Jeep, and camping with no reservations required to be happy. Well, adding a dog would make it perfect.

absolutely gorgeous locations this week, Chris. Thanks as always for taking us along!
Man my OCD was hurtin with the direction you put those hot dogs on that grill.
Absolutely stunning scenery. Thanks for sharing. :) I'm definitely going to invest in usb sockets like yours for my vehicle also.

It's about time you posted...I've been drinking coffee all morning waiting!!😀
Keep up the great work!!
No Dutch Bros? You do t know what your missing, coffee wise! Thanks, Chris, for sharing your adventure!
Yep, strong and tasty
Beautifully done. We love Oregon, both western and eastern .
Oregon coast is another amazing marvel of our planet.
Glad you managed to see more of Oregon. Coastal beaches, rain forests, lush valleys, snow covered mountains and high deserts. Pretty much a little bit of everything, and no sales tax.

Bigfoot shaking the brush saying hello in that one clip, lol

One of my favorite videos
Chris,
Once again, a fabulous episode.

Incredible shots, camera work and editing. It is really professional. I like the ambient sounds. It reminds me of the last clips on Sunday Morning on CBS on Sundays.
Okay, you made us laugh out loud when you switched to the air compressor to inflate your boat!
It reminded me of Jason on the Primal Outdoor Channel in his recent vlog, "4x4 Van - I'm your Huckleberry". 2:00 minutes into the video, Jason who always has a chain saw, is stopped by a fallen tree across his path. WAX your ZIPPERS. Removes a lot of the stress of using the zipper. Candle wax works. Doesn’t attract dust, and stays on the zippers pretty well.
I think Ursa Minor did not intend for them to be used everyday. Like someone was going to live in one. I do that on my tents.
Enjoyed a lot. Awesome footage of beautiful Oregon. Thank you.
From Surrey, Beautiful British Columbia, Canada

Those forests look so ancient and mysterious.. great stuff.. Thanks Chris...
Those water sounds are so great
I literally laughed out loud when you were airing up the raft! Really love your videos Chris. Keep up the incredible work! You inspire me
My lunch break is too short will watch this evening thanks for posting
Wow, thanks Chris that opening sequence instantly made me feel calm and incredibly jealous at the same time. You are truly talented as a cinematographer please don't ever stop!
watching your way of life is so inspiring.
Western Oregon is so beautiful. You always bring us fantastic footage.

We were sightseeing on Road's End Beach the same day you were. The Oregon Coast is breathtaking.
Coastal Oregon is breathtaking... I love taking my jeep up 1 and 101 from far Northern Cal up the Oregon coast.
I've camped in that exact spot. South Lake is a nice hidden gem.
As always Chris. I enjoyed tagging along. Thanks for sharing the adventures. Make it a great day.

Holy Moses I need to go explore Oregon!!! Another awesome vid
You need to share those hotdog recipes with us. Your a culinary wizard my friend. And not to mention a cinematic genius.
This area is so much like New Zealand, it's uncanny.
That video was truly a work of art! Thanks!!
Wow what an amazing part of the US. Just beautiful.
Great content Chris, Great video, Beautiful shots for the forest and coastal areas. I really want to visit that area. I alway look forward to you next adventure. Safe travels..
I love your freedom living.
All my wish.hope you be safe.
Love that you're out in all the places I go explore on the regular 😊
Being from Oregon I loved this one . Really tho I like all your videos I’ve seen . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A.

Wondrous Wandering!
Oregon is beautiful. Try and visit Port Orford. The coast line is amazing.
Great scenery and better video work, this one was outstanding.
Hart's Cove...always a nice trail in the early morning. Decent trail for running.
Great scenery along that hiking trail, especially those double arches on the ocean.

I swear to god I'm going to amazon air drop you a cordless sawzall.
Your video is awesome. My wife and I live in Roseburg Ore. You should adventure the Umpqua national forests as well.
You are truly a wonderful person. Greetings 💐💐💐
Only a little farther North you may like the HOH rain forest in the Olympic National Forest, breathtaking.
