    Hey cool review, kitchen installer here. Haven't had a tool belt on for a year as can't afford panel damage.
    Bit of damage to the old credit card, and could be a long wait .
    Here in the South west Pacific my vest have got some flying to do!
    (New Zealand) thanks for a upfront review.

      Sweeeeeet, I love building cabinetry and shelving, I do a lot of custom built ins. I set this rig up much more sparse for what I need and keep things out of the way. I hear there is quit the delay, especially for that flight. May your work be tighter, faster and more profitable than the last job, every job!

    I appreciate the time you took to make this review video.
    I absolutely love the quality of Atlas 46 products but despise their ability or lack there of to deliver products in a timely manner. Waiting 3+ months to receive an order is ridiculous. Professional tradesmen know time is money and god forbid you need a replacement to your rig… Good luck getting it quickly from Atlas 46 in a timely manner. This means your work flow will suffer and you’ll take longer to complete jobs.
    The solution is going with a quality product that also delivers to the customers hand quickly. I found Diamondback Tools fill the need. I’m left with putting Diamondback pouches on my Atlas 46 Saratoga vest, not because I wanted to but out of necessity.
    Atlas 46 could make products made by God himself but it does nobody any good if they have to wait forever to use them.

    I used to carry very heavy tool rigs, now I try to go as light as possible. I carry a open tool bag that keeps what I need close by, it does not weigh me down and sweat me to death.

    I got the vest with screw and nail v2 attachment, tape measure pouch with bendy metal, speed square attachment for when I dont want big double bag. 2x pencil holder attachments, drill holster, hammer holder, safety glass holder, 2x 3 inch weak magnet panels, 2x 3 inch 26lb pull force magnet panels (my favorite), 2x magnet wraps, and 2x the 52 lb magnet shoulder attachment or w.e. I loooooove it all, but here are the cons. Screw and Nail Pouch v2 weights about 1.5 lbs... Drill holster is only needed if you were go be on a roof with change of drill or impact falling. Otherwise just clip to vest. Tape measure pouch is nice for screws or nails, but I just clip tape measure to my vest again... faster and holds it just fine. Speed square attachment is awesome. Light weight for people just cutting all day that don't want to put speed square in back jean pocket. Also holds 4 spots for perm markers and pencils. Hammer holder is amazing. Better than any other companies, BUT I still prefer to just hold hammer with one 2x 26lb pull force magnet. Only time I use hammer holder is if I am on a roof. Love the 2x 26 lb magnet panels and the 1x 52 lb magnetic shoulder panels. They hold any tool up to large hammers just fine. You can jump and it does not drop. I do not own the strong magnetic panel they have which is 2x 52lb pull force in one panel, but if I did, it would LITERALLY not be possible to jump and shake a hammer to fall off of it.

      Overall I love all Atlas products except the screw and nail pouch v2. It is wayyyyyyyyyy to heavy and could be designed in a much lighter way. Drill holster needs be the larger version . Tape measure pouch needs to be the larger version. Other than this, Vest is #1. I love the magnetic panels the most, I love the pencil holders, safety glass holder, hammer holder, speed square holder, 326 tool holder, OH the PORON shoulder pads are awesome also. Blows old school stuff like Occidental or any other LEATHER tool company away.

Do you feel like it keeps a good posture when kneeling ??? I have a bad habit of bending and using my back rather than using my legs...do you find that it restricts you from doing so? Because I think if I had something like this it would remind me to do so

    • @sawdustadikt979

      Glad I could help. I also had a problem with that. In a way yes, because you have the feed back from the vest to not slouch forward. I’m not a physical therapist or anything but I have spent thousands on time with them for back issues. One of the big things I learned was that I needed to put my hips back, to counter my shoulders going forward, instead of just leaning, or stooping forward. You know your not balanced by all your weight is on your toes, not across all of your foot. Second thing was learning hip hinge. It takes time, lots of time and repetition to retrain your muscle memory to do new movements and fixing imbalances. The best channel on TH-cam that I have found that caters to fitness and better movement for trades and laborers is Mark Wildman. He has drills and cues how to do things like load bags of cement for hours on end with good form. May you jobs be tighter,faster, more fun and more profitable than the last one you just completed!

    Hey man, nice review..
    I like the looks and functionality of this chest rig, but I'm beginning to lean towards the diamondback 701 vest instead, due to its better thought out toolbelt incorporation..
    This set-up looks to be geared towards most of the weight being put on the shoulders. But if one does add a belt to share the load, it looks like it might sit a little low on the hips for optimum comfort and function/mobility, which would defeat the whole purpose. But I haven't tried one out yet, so that's pure conjecture at this point.
    One thing I do know, is that all of these vest systems are designed to be snugged up to one's torso to help distribute weight. Otherwise, what's the point, I might as well stick with my bullshit bags and suspenders..
    If you live in an environment with constant varying temps and conditions, or constantly in and out doors, it could prove to be a real pain in the ass readjusting fitment every time you shed or put on layers of clothing..
    These rigs aren't cheap.
    Anyone have experience with both chest rig systems?

    • @sawdustadikt979
      @sawdustadikt979  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! I did add a belt and it made the fit from great to awesome. As far as to low on the hips you can mess with the hight of the over all rig on the shoulders. I was considering diamond back but they did not have a vest at the time. Im in New England, so we get a decent swing in temperature here but it’s nothing compared to some areas. That being said I wear little cold weather gear due to a cold shower regime (makes you very cold tolerant)or have a coat to throw on an leave it open. At the end of the day, DO YOU. There is a lot of rad innovations and great quality flooding the market which is awesome for us in the trades. I hope some of the commenters here chime in and give some perspective. May your jobs be tighter, faster and more profitable with every job you complete. And most of all, HAVE FUN using whatever rig you choose!

      @@killzonehpa3581 I haven’t looked at the 701. I have really messed with my set up over and over for different tasks till I figured out what works for what, that’s what sold me on the platform in the first place. It’s so modular it comes down to me asking myself, “am I using this to its full potential?” Maybe I should do a follow up video on how I have it set up now, what I carry daily, how much it weighs, bla,bla,bla. I remember when I took the expensive leap into this, I remembered that it’s called atlas46 because they have a 46day full refund for any reason. They sell returns as well because of this. Not any different really, I used to run suspenders on my belt before. However they have that 46 day return policy so if you don’t think your into it, return it and get something else. Hope that helps.

    Did you have any back , shoulder or hip soreness with belt and suspenders, and did you notice any difference with the vest?

    • @sawdustadikt979
      @sawdustadikt979  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Everyone’s individual experience is different, that being said for me I did have less soreness with the vest setup in comparison to the belt and suspenders. I also have had a career long relationship with chiropractors. I did add a belt to the vest to lower the bags a bit. Tightening it when I got a couple pounds of fasteners in it helps. I think when I got the vest to fit right, it distributes all the weight evenly, but it moves. As where with the belt and suspenders, you yank the belt super tight and then when you are working over head the suspenders are pulling on a belt that will not move up with them as where with the vest the whole vest slips up just a bit. Does that make sense to you? I’m not very articulate, sometimes I try to say things and wonder if I make any sense. I had the same concerns, with that eye watering price. But the no questions asked 46 day return policy, I took the risk and I’m still happy I did. These have been out long enough that I’m seeing them for sale on marketplace here and there, you could save a buck that way but the risk of no warranty will be there.

      They breathe ok, you will have a sweat vest when you take it off. They do make a open core version of this vest. I live in southern New England, we get similar hot very humid summers, especially inland where the trees just seem to trap the heat and block all the available breeze. Just remember that you can return anything, in any condition in 46 days. If I were you, I’d get both the Saratoga and the open core vest and send back the one you don’t like. They didn’t make a second option when I got this set up, that’s what I would have done if they did. Love my Saratoga vest. I bought the basics to get started with as far as add-ons, and have slowly completed my rig over the last 4-5 months. $500+ dollars later I have no regrets. It's worth every penny. My trim carpenter set up weighs 22lbs. (when not carrying an impact driver of course) That's 22lbs not cutting into my hips anymore, or pulling my pants down. I had the Occidental shoulder harness rig and although nice, does not distribute the weight the way this gear does. Versatility is key. Having my tools dispersed exactly where I want them is a huge advantage. Build quality is hands down superior. Watching these videos does not do justice to having this rig in your hands. Everything is high quality right down to the thread. Anybody on the fence about getting this rig should just pull the trigger. You won't regret it.

      Sorry to hear that.Ya, I got a couple small items recently. It took like 4 months. Way different from before COVID. I hope they get it sorted out.
