Our most recent Celebrity cruise was on Silhouette. 13 days/Scandinavia. While we enjoyed the ship, staff, food, entertainment, etc., I simply feel the Edge class ships offer a better Retreat experience. The lounge on Silhouette was comfy, but no real windows to the outside, or outside seating. Make no mistake, I enjoyed the Silhouette cruise, but our next two have been booked on Edge and Ascent. Your video does a great job of capturing the essence of the ship. And of course I'm subscribed. You two are outstanding presenters and very pleasant folks!
Haha we had to go back and listen to that part! It did sound like someone was saying Vlogging! No one actually said something to us! (This was also an old trip we did it back in March)
The Solstice class isn't that much smaller than the Edge class. The biggest Solstice class ship, the Reflection, is actually a little larger than the Edge and Apex. You refer to the ship as smaller but it really isn't that much smaller. This isn't a retreat ship. They retrofitted some areas but this is more of a find your public space, whether social or quiet, and be in it. The food quality should be no different from oldest to newest ship. The specialty restaurant to go to on the Solstice is Murano for a great experience and the best food on the ship. The thing that makes the Solstice more desirable for some people is the Sky Lounge, Ensemble Lounge, Library/Hideaway area, lawn club, feel and alcoves in the Martini Bar, deck spaces in front of the ship and ability to lie down on the lawn and see the stars. Pretty much none of this exist on the Edge class What makes the Edge desirable is it's newer so it seems more modern for now, the theater screens and design, Eden, designed in Retreat, Sunset Bar, Rooftop Garden. Eden and Sky Bar aren't the same so you either like both or one or the other. Or prefer one or the other. The other big change is the 4 MDRs vs. 1 MDR. I can tell this isn't the ship for you or just your sailing wasn't too exciting. But I can assure you some wild and fun things happen on Solstice class ships and they can be as vibrant as the Edge class, but with their own unique feel. The vibrancy is in the smaller spaces and interactions with crew, fellow passengers and sometimes entertainers (like in the Ensemble lounge).
@@lindsayslivealittle thank you, we have done the Haven a few times and RCL Suites (which I don't think are that great, too many different perks with different rooms, just make them the same) so we are looking forward to celebrity! Thanks for the tour. I have Celebrity ascent in retreat in April as well.
You were correct on one of the astrological signs. But as for the question not going to answer that. While we publish some of our life online, personal stuff is for us.
I’ve only done suites on the new ship so it was interesting and informative to see how it is on an older ship. I’m really baffled by the zodiac menu covering only half the signs! As a fellow Aries I’m offended 😂
Haha! I was sad there was no Aries drink! I feel like if you are going to have a menu with the zodiac signs you have to do all of them or don’t bother! Next week’s episode actually goes in a little more depth on what we thought about the Retreat on an older ship! Thanks for watching!
That sounds amazing! If you can I would suggest an edge class ship (Apex has been doing Norway, but not sure for 2027!) we have a LOT of content on Norway! Even on the Apex! We love Norway!
@@lindsayslivealittle If doing the Fjords, the disadvantage of an Edge ship is the lack of a Sky Lounge and access to front deck space if you aren't in a suite. Also, do you like infinity balconies or regular ones? That can be a big factor as well.
@ these are some good points especially if not in the retreat. But for Norway I would first go off of the itinerary. Having done Norway several times different ways I think itinerary is important.
@lindsayslivealittle i just looking for that 10 day norway with arctic circle, i book a short 7 day cruise on may 2026 to Oslo, an Denmark an one more city i can't remember with princess. Then in sept 10 2026 i go to alaska with Norwegian Waiting on does excursion to book. For sure I want to do the helicopter trip an kayaking. Because iam going on my own i will rely on the cruise excursion.

Thanks so much!
I've got 2 cruises on the Silhouette in 2025. A solo trip and then a cruise with friends for my birthday. Cool to see what they do for birthdays.
Have a great time!
We’ll be on silhouette in Iceland next year
Did I hear someone complain about you vlogging at 15:18?

We will definitely be trying other classes soon!
Jack seems like a Taurus and you Aquarius. One out of two not bad.
Boarding on the day after thanksgiving , the retreat. First time on Celebrity.
Ooo hope you have a fantastic time and love the Retreat!!!

Having done similar to you guys (100% agree on Royal) we are a fan of Celebrity! Hope you guys enjoy it!
Love seeing all the food; is Poppy expecting a sibling? lol. I think Jack is a Pisces and you are either Aires or Sagittarius.
Omg how rude

My plans is to do celebrity on 2027 to norway
