It's the first time I have read someone saying that William purposely commited suicide, and I think it makes sense(?) He probably knew that he will still "live" in a way, so he decided that even if he died in springbonnie, putting the suit was the best course of action. I don't know. No, the Purple Guy from Sister Location minigames is not the same Purple Guy and FNAF 2 3 and 4 minigames. There are 2 Purple Guy's, William Afton and Michael Afton. Also, William isn't actually purple, Scott confirmed he's metaphorcly purple and he confirmed Michael is physically purple. Also, that is not pink, that's magenta(AKA reddish purple).

What did he think going into Springtrap would accomplish? Those are ghost children, non-corporeal, an animatronic suit isn't going to protect you. Unless he was purposefully trying to trigger it as an act of suicide.
It's the first time I have read someone saying that William purposely commited suicide, and I think it makes sense(?) He probably knew that he will still "live" in a way, so he decided that even if he died in springbonnie, putting the suit was the best course of action. I don't know. I still think he did a stupid thing out of fear. He was terrified seeing the ghosts of the children and thought that he wearing the suit will scare the children away for some reason, after all it was the thing they last saw before dying. He thought he won for a moment, and well, everyone knows what happened after...
