I'm simply a huge fan of John Williams' Rey and Kylo Ren theme and experimented with combining the two themes into a love theme.

John knew what he was doing more than the directors of the film. He understood star wars probably more than most the team. It's what makes him great, so many times over the three trilogys there's songs that can be played together and tell you mini narratives that ultimately make the the whole narrative more cohesive. Without his music Star Wars wouldn't be Star Wars as we know and now he's inspired a new generation.
Literally all Ben Solo needed was someone to be there and believe in him. If he had met Rey before the incident in the hut, he would never have went to Snoke, he would never have turned. He only went to Snoke because he felt like everyone around him feared him and thought of him as a monster, the other students, his parents, and now his uncle...he felt completely alone, like he had no home and belonged nowhere, so he accepted peoples view of him and became what he felt he must be if Luke Skywalker himself was ready to kill him in his sleep...a monster. Rey’s presence would have completely negated all the darkness inside Ben Solo, all the voices in his head (Palpatine).
Obvi I agree mostly, but when luke looked into Ben's heart in the hut he saw he had already turned..Ben wanted more power and ability in ways films haven't explained..it was his choice..no one can force him to choose that path..what Luke did cemented that choice, but it was there inside Ben before that, 😉
neil murphy, At face value it can be considered his choice but the second you look slightly deeper you can instantly see that It really wasn’t his choice, it’s stated that he hadn’t made a decision on anything. Luke forced his hand, even after the fact it shows in a comic that when he got out of the hut, he started saying *“why”* while looking at the Jedi Temple. I’m telling you Ben Solo wasn’t at all evil in his heart, the people around him from his parents to his uncle made him believe that there was something wrong with him, Luke trying to “kill” him in his sleep just completely solidified Ben’s beliefs that he had nobody, then he made the decision to turn. Afterwards, he even let some of the surviving students go...that’s not something Vader would have done in ROTS...not something a man who had himself premeditated the decision to turn would have done. I think Palpatine was manipulating what Luke was seeing in Ben’s mind, after all Palpatine was “every voice” in his head, he’s been pulling the strings since the day Ben Solo was born.
Obvi I take yr points but he was still responsible, Yoda in ROTS novel says how Anakin made a choice, he didn't fall, he chose.. we all choose, ultimately Ben chose too, not the people around him.. in fact he finally chose to turn to the light..if take choice away there's no real redemption..
neil murphy, Of course he ultimately chose, but context matters, it’s not like he woke up on a sunny day and thought “you know what I’m going be evil from now on”, in his mind he felt like he had no choice after what happened with Luke...I blame Luke for Kylo Ren existing more then I blame Ben...because in the end it was completely his fault, he’s the “Jedi Grandmaster” and he failed to realize Palpatine was in Ben’s mind, he failed to protect his apprentice and nephew, and to add to it he considered killing him in his sleep...which is what caused Ben to turn.
Honestly I think The Rise of Skywalker would have made so much more sense if Rey and Ben had both survived. If they were to get married, Rey would actually become a Skywalker in name and their children would be Skywalkers and could be the first of a new generation of children to be trained as Jedi
No The point is to move on Carry a new legacy without jedi or sith, no light or darkness just balance Both the jedi and sith are gone Rey was the embodiment of all jedi and palpatine was the embodiment of all sith both died by both hands but due to the dyad in the force kylo was able to save Rey
I agree. It would've made more sense if Ben was the one who went to Tatooine to live in exile as repercussions for all the bad stuff he did, while Rey remained with the resistance and the family she found there. Obviously they'd still see each other pretty frequently, but I think that ending the film with them both alive but temporarily separate would be a better fit than what they actually did.
I was gonna post a comment similar to this, how Rey has been longing for a family and having her end up having one with Ben would be a great way to give her even a semblance of a character arc, but you took the words right out of my mouth
There are many reasons I love this pairing but I think the biggest reason is because we the audience watch their journey/relationship together the whole ride. They are the only Star Wars couple in the films we see this because Anakin&Padme and Han&Leia's relationship fleshes out outside the main films. Reylo is complicated but that is why I love it. It's something we and the other characters may never understand, but that is how the relationship is designed because only they can understand. They are their own world and we are just observers..... Idk if that made any sense but hey I tired and it's like 4am lol. Anyways, very beautiful music! It's so breathtaking :)
Who would in their right mind fall in love with a psychotic killer? Anakin killed Sandpeople to avenge his mother's death, and Padme still fell in love with him. Kylo killed his own dad in front of Rey, then a day later they like each other. Does the Skywalker blood manipulate women into liking killers? The only real one was Han and Leia, and even in Legends Luke and Mara, Mara tried killing Luke, and yet they both fell in love. Sounds like Star Wars just loves them romantic drama.
This ship really astonishes me, I get that people like bad boys and stuff and explode with joy when the main character can "saves" them from themselves. But Kylo's not some emo kid whose just so happened to go down a dark path's, he's a sociopath with more in common with Hitler at this point. I mean he was very much involved in the firing and making of a weapon that genocides planets. But I guess that's okay because unlike Kylo those billions of people killed by his actions weren't hot or angst.
While I may be pretty disappointed with this trilogy, Rey and Kylo’s relationship is the strongest part. Could the kiss have been done better? Yes. Did I crack a faint smile when it happened? Yes.

idc what people say to me. I love Ben solo and he’s had the best arc in the sequels and to watch what happened to him is not right. If the film just acknowledged him and gave him a funeral of some kind I would be at least accepting of it.

Compare this trilogy to the previous trilogies and notice how Lucasfilm marketed HanxLeia and Anidala in promotional works. Meanwhile, look at Disney's marketing for Reylo even though it ended up endgame in the movie. I think that's 1 reason (among many) why Reylo is the most controversial trilogy couple. Had Disney marketed the romance better, it might've suffered less hate. It also likely would have gained more traction in foreign market since apparently Reylo is less controversial/hated in Asia compared to in the U.S., which isn't surprising.

The marketing was over the place and even though they did focused on selling Ben and Rey as pivotal point of the story and it was evident from TLJ that it was also a romance story, DLF (Disney-Lucasfilm) didn't openly treated as the romantic couple as it is. It was stupid. In Asia they are more used to the enemy-to-lovers trope and compared to certain Asian dramas Reylo is vanilla for a enemy-to-lovers romance.
You know what's ironic? This theme is FILLED with hope. That is what it reminds me of, hope and happiness. I'm not sure if it refers to ben's redemption or rey somehow bringing him back... but it's there. While across the stars speaks of what could have been and tragedy, and han and leia's theme is sweet and almost like home, this is filled with hope, as if something lost was finally regained.

I love Ben and Rey! Reylo forever!!!! When i was pregnant last year i would play this song over and over and over again so my baby can hear it in the womb and when he was born we continued playing it for him and every time we would play him the song he would calm down or fall asleep! He actually remembered the song! And to this day he instantly calms down when I put this song when he’s crying! It has seriously been my secret weapon. I love this song and forever will be obsessed! This is so beautiful, it made me cry. Hearing how flawlessly you were able to tie their themes together, it really does sound like they were composed to be two halves of a whole.
The fact I love about most about this relationship is that the FORCE itself ships them lol. "Oh, you thought you were enemies? You are soulmates lol here have a force skypecall maybe you'll get warmed up to each other" Aaaaand one movie later they kiss :)
I really like Reylo, these two had so much developing potential but it wasn’t written into film. But it’s okay, I’m glad at least they both had a little comfort. I just don’t like how Reylo always get shunned and stepped on whenever it’s brought up in conversation. People should be more respectful.

I love this. It greatly expresses the moment when Ben and Rey kissed, then Bens passing and finally the tone changes wherein you can picture the possibility of happiness if Ben had lived. I still long for the possibility of what might have been.🤧
This theme is what the power of love can do. How it can turn even the darkest souls into luminous beings. What a relationship with a real person can do for us. I’m speechless and in tears. John Williams is a genius. One of the few musicians that can make you see images, scenes and characters when you hear those delightful combinations of notes. And it’s truly impressive how you managed to merge both themes together. You can first hear Ben’s theme. Think of Ben, kylo, remember his history. Then Rey, you think of her innocence, her uniqueness, brings you back to TFA. Then they combine. Completing eachother. You forget everything else. There’s just them both, in the moment, the only scene I can think of is the kiss. You’re a genius too. I’m impressed. This is beautiful. Brought me back to late December. Brought me back to them.
Thank you for making this, I always felt the bond between Rey and Kylo Ren/Ben Solo was the soul of the sequels, their connection is so subtle yet palpable that others are just drawn into their sphere. When I left the theatre after watching tros I felt like something was fulfilled in me and changed me. The relationship between Ben and Rey has me really marveled in the sequels. I’ve been seeing all this hate on the sequels but really this movie mad me start balling in the theatre. I cry every time I see the trailer because the sky walker family will never be forgotten. I think that this ending fulfilled me in this way that makes me want more. This series has left me super happy with my life, and I can’t believe how amazing this movie was. Legit it gave me everything I could ever want in a last movie. This is the most gorges edited soundtrack music I have ever heard, and I’m actually crying tears of joy. Thank you so much for bringing this video up. I just can’t believe 42 years of Star Wars has came to a end, but I’m happy Rey, and Ben, are finally happy. And I’m happy that the sixth and Jedi are finally at peace. For it wasn’t actually a anakin who was the chosen one, it was Ben. Ben brought balance to the force and he will be happy remembered for that forever.

I didn’t like TROS that much but wow they nailed their relationship, it was something truly great from the new movies, they remind me of Revan and Bastilla Shan.
In the Exegol scene, where Ben fades away, Rey’s face is telling a different story. Daisy Ridley is a very talented actor, if Ben was truly dying, she would have been crying her heart out, as if she lost part of herself (two that are one) but instead her face doesn’t portray emotions that are that relevant to Ben’s death. Personally I think some thing else was happening and they changed it last minute.
So many things I love about this! First, hearing Kylo Ren/Ben's theme in a different key and then the way you combine with Rey's theme is just glorious. Thank you so much for this. I treasure these two and I wish their relationship was done with more justice for what we saw on the screen but this is absolutely precious to me

Absolutely gorgeous. My favourite part is right at the 2:00 mark. You think it’s hit the peak, but then it dips and soars to even greater heights. It brings me to tears every time, it’s so triumphant and filled with hope.

Their story is about two people caught in different sides of a war. And we watched as they discovered who they were and as they found not just peace, but love. Star Wars, the whole saga, is about a journey across the stars and how different people experienced a different war

To have the lives that they deserved. “Two that are one.” Together. Soulmates, lovers, dyad. Hope, family, peace, love. Everything that this movie should have been. With this incredible song as it’s theme.

No matter how cringey anakin and padme were they were designed to be a couple from THE START. They fell in love with each other like normal people would. Literally all Ben Solo needed was someone to be there and believe in him. If he had met Rey before the incident in the hut, he would never have went to Snoke, he would never have turned. He only went to Snoke because he felt like everyone around him feared him and thought of him as a monster, the other students, his parents, and now his uncle...he felt completely alone, like he had no home and belonged nowhere, so he accepted peoples view of him and became what he felt he must be if Luke Skywalker himself was ready to kill him in his sleep...a monster.
Rey’s presence would have completely negated all the darkness inside Ben Solo, all the voices in his head (Palpatine).

Obvi I agree mostly, but when luke looked into Ben's heart in the hut he saw he had already turned..Ben wanted more power and ability in ways films haven't explained..it was his choice..no one can force him to choose that path..what Luke did cemented that choice, but it was there inside Ben before that, 😉
neil murphy, At face value it can be considered his choice but the second you look slightly deeper you can instantly see that It really wasn’t his choice, it’s stated that he hadn’t made a decision on anything. Luke forced his hand, even after the fact it shows in a comic that when he got out of the hut, he started saying *“why”* while looking at the Jedi Temple. I’m telling you Ben Solo wasn’t at all evil in his heart, the people around him from his parents to his uncle made him believe that there was something wrong with him, Luke trying to “kill” him in his sleep just completely solidified Ben’s beliefs that he had nobody, then he made the decision to turn. Afterwards, he even let some of the surviving students go...that’s not something Vader would have done in ROTS...not something a man who had himself premeditated the decision to turn would have done.
I think Palpatine was manipulating what Luke was seeing in Ben’s mind, after all Palpatine was “every voice” in his head, he’s been pulling the strings since the day Ben Solo was born.
Obvi I take yr points but he was still responsible, Yoda in ROTS novel says how Anakin made a choice, he didn't fall, he chose.. we all choose, ultimately Ben chose too, not the people around him.. in fact he finally chose to turn to the light..if take choice away there's no real redemption..
neil murphy, Of course he ultimately chose, but context matters, it’s not like he woke up on a sunny day and thought “you know what I’m going be evil from now on”, in his mind he felt like he had no choice after what happened with Luke...I blame Luke for Kylo Ren existing more then I blame Ben...because in the end it was completely his fault, he’s the “Jedi Grandmaster” and he failed to realize Palpatine was in Ben’s mind, he failed to protect his apprentice and nephew, and to add to it he considered killing him in his sleep...which is what caused Ben to turn.
Honestly I think The Rise of Skywalker would have made so much more sense if Rey and Ben had both survived. If they were to get married, Rey would actually become a Skywalker in name and their children would be Skywalkers and could be the first of a new generation of children to be trained as Jedi

It would've made more sense if Ben was the one who went to Tatooine to live in exile as repercussions for all the bad stuff he did, while Rey remained with the resistance and the family she found there. Obviously they'd still see each other pretty frequently, but I think that ending the film with them both alive but temporarily separate would be a better fit than what they actually did.
I was gonna post a comment similar to this, how Rey has been longing for a family and having her end up having one with Ben would be a great way to give her even a semblance of a character arc, but you took the words right out of my mouth

There are many reasons I love this pairing but I think the biggest reason is because we the audience watch their journey/relationship together the whole ride. They are the only Star Wars couple in the films we see this because Anakin&Padme and Han&Leia's relationship fleshes out outside the main films. Reylo is complicated but that is why I love it. It's something we and the other characters may never understand, but that is how the relationship is designed because only they can understand. They are their own world and we are just observers.....

Who would in their right mind fall in love with a psychotic killer? Anakin killed Sandpeople to avenge his mother's death, and Padme still fell in love with him. Kylo killed his own dad in front of Rey, then a day later they like each other. Does the Skywalker blood manipulate women into liking killers? The only real one was Han and Leia, and even in Legends Luke and Mara, Mara tried killing Luke, and yet they both fell in love. Sounds like Star Wars just loves them romantic drama.
This ship really astonishes me, I get that people like bad boys and stuff and explode with joy when the main character can "saves" them from themselves. But Kylo's not some emo kid whose just so happened to go down a dark path's, he's a sociopath with more in common with Hitler at this point. I mean he was very much involved in the firing and making of a weapon that genocides planets. But I guess that's okay because unlike Kylo those billions of people killed by his actions weren't hot or angst.

Compare this trilogy to the previous trilogies and notice how Lucasfilm marketed HanxLeia and Anidala in promotional works. Meanwhile, look at Disney's marketing for Reylo even though it ended up endgame in the movie. I think that's 1 reason (among many) why Reylo is the most controversial trilogy couple. Had Disney marketed the romance better, it might've suffered less hate. It also likely would have gained more traction in foreign market since apparently Reylo is less controversial/hated in Asia compared to in the U.S., which isn't surprising.

You know what's ironic? This theme is FILLED with hope. That is what it reminds me of, hope and happiness. I'm not sure if it refers to ben's redemption or rey somehow bringing him back... but it's there. While across the stars speaks of what could have been and tragedy, and han and leia's theme is sweet and almost like home, this is filled with hope, as if something lost was finally regained.

When i was pregnant last year i would play this song over and over and over again so my baby can hear it in the womb and when he was born we continued playing it for him and every time we would play him the song he would calm down or fall asleep! He actually remembered the song! And to this day he instantly calms down when I put this song when he’s crying! It has seriously been my secret weapon. I love this song and forever will be obsessed! I’m speechless and in tears. John Williams is a genius. One of the few musicians that can make you see images, scenes and characters when you hear those delightful combinations of notes. And it’s truly impressive how you managed to merge both themes together. You can first hear Ben’s theme. Think of Ben, kylo, remember his history. Then Rey, you think of her innocence, her uniqueness, brings you back to TFA. Then they combine. Completing eachother. You forget everything else. There’s just them both, in the moment, the only scene I can think of is the kiss. You’re a genius too. I’m impressed. This is beautiful. Brought me back to late December. Brought me back to them.
Thank you for making this, I always felt the bond between Rey and Kylo Ren/Ben Solo was the soul of the sequels, their connection is so subtle yet palpable that others are just drawn into their sphere. When I left the theatre after watching tros I felt like something was fulfilled in me and changed me. The relationship between Ben and Rey has me really marveled in the sequels. I’ve been seeing all this hate on the sequels but really this movie mad me start balling in the theatre. I cry every time I see the trailer because the sky walker family will never be forgotten. I think that this ending fulfilled me in this way that makes me want more. This series has left me super happy with my life, and I can’t believe how amazing this movie was. Legit it gave me everything I could ever want in a last movie. This is the most gorges edited soundtrack music I have ever heard, and I’m actually crying tears of joy. Thank you so much for bringing this video up. I just can’t believe 42 years of Star Wars has came to a end, but I’m happy Rey, and Ben, are finally happy. And I’m happy that the sixth and Jedi are finally at peace. For it wasn’t actually a anakin who was the chosen one, it was Ben. Ben brought balance to the force and he will be happy remembered for that forever.

I didn’t like TROS that much but wow they nailed their relationship, it was something truly great from the new movies, they remind me of Revan and Bastilla Shan.
In the Exegol scene, where Ben fades away, Rey’s face is telling a different story. Daisy Ridley is a very talented actor, if Ben was truly dying, she would have been crying her heart out, as if she lost part of herself (two that are one) but instead her face doesn’t portray emotions that are that relevant to Ben’s death. Personally I think some thing else was happening and they changed it last minute.

@@elijahlee3610 No chemistry? Maybe I am just cold because of the awful Padme and Anakin romance in the Prequels but with the hut and elevator scenes in The Last Jedi they share far more chemistry than Padme and Anakin in four hours.
@@kungolaf4499 and here it is, whataboutism. Yes padme and anakin's relation was badly executed that still doesnt change the fact that so was rey and kylos. Them sharing 2 seconds of dialogue in an elevator(IN WHICH SHE IS TECHNICALLY HIS PRISONER IN THAT SCENE) doesnt make their relationship at the end of TROS any less contrived or stupid.
No matter how cringey anakin and padme were they were designed to be a couple from THE START. They fell in love with each other like normal people would. They didn't spend an entire trilogy trying to kill each other and then randomly kiss
I like The force awakens, love Rise of the skywalker and I think the last jedi was good to okay. But it's the same that I think reylo was the best thing in last jedi

UGH THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL!! i literally cried while listening to this!! YOU ARE SO TALENTED!!! i really loved their stories in the sequels. they had the best story and all of their scenes were amazing.
