🌟🌟THE NEIGHBORS STORY!:🌟🌟 The neighbor lost his wife in a accident thats why you see him in that wreck and hospital room where the moniter flatlines. then his son pushed his sister off the roof while they were playing up there when the neighbor was building on to the house. u can see that this happened when your on the roller coaster and push the girl. then he locks his son up in the basement because he thinks he is dangerous and that's why you see the boy and the bed and stuff. the black figure represents fear. you go to the store and school cut scenes because that's you over coming your childhood fears and when you kill the giant neighbor that is you protecting your younger self from his biggest fear which is the neighbor. now at the end you see the figure banging on the neighbors door that is his fear. which is the fear of never getting his family back and he won't over come it so he is trapped in that house. btw left this out when the neighbor kidnaps you as a kid he took you because he wanted to feel the way it feels to have a child again. so he locks you up to protect you and when you escape that is when you gain that fear of him. well I hope this helped idk if I left anything out but there are videos of the story on youtube.👍👍😁

ur the neighbours son, the demon could be ur mother or an evil creation of her if she had died. the neighbour tried to keep u safe by locking u away as a child. when u were big protecting ur younger self, it was actually the neighbours actions u were acting out. the little girl was the neighbours daughter, ur sister, and he lost her, so did all in his power to protect u from the demon, which could be ur mother, maybe an experiment gone wrong as the neighbour is super smart when it comes to inventions. i'm just guessing yall, lol!

I think the neighbour lost his wife and kids, which turns him into a total creep. The neighbour then had a deal with the devil (kidnapping children) but then regrets it (it explains why he never kills us, or breaks into your property). The cutouts and people on his missing posters are his son and daughter. The room at the end is the son's room , and the dollhouse belongs to his daughter. During the period when you are a child, if you get caught a certain amount of times, it will show you a dream sequence of how the neighbour's wife dies.

@@addisonruan I know the story I will tell you it so in the start the neighbor had a family then his wife died because a car crash but the neighbor lived then he was depressed then the son went crazy and killed his sister by pushing her off the roof of house then the neighbor locked his son in the basement then one day Nicky/player was passing by and saw the neighbours son he was confused who he locked in the basement so then started to find out who was in the basement then at the end of act one you get caught by him then once you escape he tells everything to his parents then they called the police the son was directed to asylum so now the neighbor was alone then a fear attacked him and Nicky and the bigger the fear the bigger the house Nicky had fears he feared that in the supermarket people will sweep him with their carts and take his items he is afraid of darkness and the double jump means that he is turning on the light in the basement and the school fear he got bullied and wanted to hide in the wardrobe at the finale act he faces his last fear screaming child in the basement then you protect your self from fear in the finale fight you against the fear after your done that you see then neighbor and the thing in a house Nicky has the power to over come the fear but the neighbor does not then when you wake up you get rid of the fears and act 1 is a real world but act 2 and 3 is all just dreams trying to get rid of his fears that is the story of hello neighbor

Uh No. So what actually happened is that the black thing is Fear and his wife died. His son pushed his sister of the roof so the neightbour locked him. The fear was knocking on the door becouse the neightbour was scared of never getting his familly back. :P hope i helped

Ok so what happened is
The neighbour had a car crash
Lost his wife
Lost his daughter
He killed his son
The shadow person is not a person. It is a shadow looking over him representing guilt, and misery. He wants to keep it for himself and that now you know the story, the shadow will now look at you. The end cutscene represents him never being able to get rid of the guilt.

You're wrong, the black thing was the neighbour's fear. His Daughter was pushed off the roof by his son: you can see this during the game hide and seek, it shows the neighbour's backstory with his wife and kids.
