- In part one, we look at the Miniature Railway operation of the Llanelli & District Model Engineers Easter Rally held at pembrey Country Park, in Carmarthenshire over the weekend of 19 ~ 20/03/2016.
We look at some of the magnificent miniature locomotive, that have travelled from all over the UK to this event, some of characters I've met during the day, and two trips around the circuit at Pembrey, one behind a Black 5 and County, and the other behind double headed Class 20's. We also see the wide range of locos on display.
As always a big thank you to Rob Rayner and all the exhibitors and club members who have made this such an enjoyable event.
In part two, we will see the Road Traction engines, including the road run to Pembrey Square.
Wonderful Bob, those double headers were really something. As usual, an excelent show with a wonderful array of models
+acw71000 Thanks Austin, I've just finished my stint for the weekend, and once again, it's been a real treat to capture this for the Club...I will be watching your SVR video later....Regards...Bob

+David Howarth It's incredible, the detail that they build into these superbly built locos Dave...a real joy to watch...Bob

Well it's that time of Year again Bob....This event crept up on Me...Didn't realise it was on. You've done a superb job of capturing your trips around the Park...Great angles...Loved the close-up look at the Locomotives too....Cracking video..Well done....Steve.-:)
+Steve Lewis Video Channel. Thanks Steve, it's the Autumn Gala that's the big one, the Spring Gala often clashes with the WSR Gala, so I can't always do it. As always it's a great honour to be asked to come back and do it for them, and all these visiting locos made it a real special day...I'll be back down again this morning as there are a hundred Mopeds coming down from Cardiff to join the event, so it's all go down here....Best wishes...Bob
Sent you a text.
Terrific on-train footage! They really belt along when you're that near to the ground. I see there's been some track relaying going on.
+AndreiTupolev They've recently relaid much of the track Andrei, which can be seen gives a very smooth ride. The wide angle of the lens and being close to the ground, gives a wonderful sense of speed....Regards...Bob
Excellent once again Bob; I think I'll come along today once I've recorded the donkeys at the local Church this Palm Sunday
Maybe see you there.........Mike
+Mike Wilcock Thanks Mike, be aware that there will be a large part of the park cut off from all transport movements between 11.00 and 15.00, so parking may be an issue. Hopefully you'll be able to get through....Bob
some good looking trains there Bob, and they go fast,,it all looks new there and new track work going on,,, nice video
+David Frobel There is a great deal of track renewal going on David, and this results in much smoother running as can be seen...Bob
Hi Bob, just found your video. Great locos . like the carriages never sen them like that before. Super filming...Dave
Thanks Dave, despite being small, it's all very exciting....Thanks as always....Bob
Hi Bob, very good, thanks for reply...Dave
Wish i could come. Those trains look awesome to ride on! Shucks.
+Metalguy40 They're in the process of upgrading the tracks, and the running is now superb as can be seen.....Bob
+Robert Masterman very well done like usual brilliant little g scale track. The railways doing well by the looks of it and so is the new section being built....joshua
Thanks Josh, it's bigger than G Scale at 7 1/4 inch....Bob
That looked like another excellent rally, Bob. Great footage on board with the double header. The rods on the County were certainly moving, I wonder what the equivalent full size speed would have been? I've marked the Autumn dates in my diary in the hope I can get up to South Wales then. Keith
+hemerdonbank Thanks Keith, please ask for me when you come down, it would be great to say Hello. Regards...Bob
Another superb video Bob! I must try and find time to get down to Llanelli some time. Your close-up shots are truly excellent...well done. I can see that the club is extending its track...what's the final circuit going to look like...any idea? How about a shot of Bob driving? If I can look enormous driving a 7.25in gauge loco...surely (as you look better) we can have a brief cameo of you (Alfred Hitchcock style?) on screen? Best wishes Rob
+Rob Mannion Thanks Rob, I was given the opportunity to drive the showman's engine, but driving a Steam loco is a different ball game altogether....One day maybe.....If you ever come down, you'll be given the best of Welsh welcomes...Regards...Bob
What is the middle rail? Electricity?
No it's to accommodate locomotives of different Gauge....Bob
+Robert Masterman has anyone made a U.P. big boy 4-8-8-4 and if they did how much of a load did it pull.
The only time I saw a miniature 'Big Boy' was at Dobwalls in Cornwall in the UK, I don't think it's there any more....Bob
