"Just because I got lucky" You might think he's just being modest, but he's 100% right. Yes he's very talented and the funniest show host on television, but there are millions of Conans out there who just aren't on television.
He's really humble it seems and he doesn't want his children to have an inflated sense of self. It's really easy to encourage children to think too highly of themselves, everything is new, exciting, emotive, and they crave independence.. it's just their nature to feel like they're on top of the world when they do anything exciting, and for free? I wanted to be a a singer too at 10. If my dad spoiled me with free vip tickets to see Gwen Stefani and I played with her children, I may not have discovered my real natural abilities and skills in professional art and psychology. Way to go Conan. Don't let the world's obsession with hollywood stardom raise your children. Hollywood is an extremely cold, competitive, unforgiving, unempathetic industry.
I think people who didn´t get born rich and had to work their ass for wealth and succes over the years just know it can ruin a person, being born with everything handed to him, never having to try, and logicaly they don´t want that for their children, they have to struggle a little bit, try things they don´t like for a living, search for something they are good at and can live off it.
deckieishphiltrash God no . I thank the lord he ain’t my dad . He’s pure evil . My dad is fine compared to this physco. How about a dad that isn’t evil and does drugs yah. I thank god . I’m sorry but he isn’t a good parents . But then again no one is perfect . I’m just glad he ain’t my dad . I’m okay with my family right now and you should stop these thoughts. The only true father we have is jesus
He also makes a great point that not everything is positive and happy at all times. It just isn't realistic, because success whether in family, career, or relationships is not founded upon good times , it's really only achieved through consistent hard work, pain, sacrifice, and it's not pleasant all the time to get there. You may also not end up where you want to be, but you could end up where your skills are highly valued and sometimes we need to revaluate what our priorities truly are.
When the interviewer says 'why are teaching kids to follow their dreams' and Conan says 'no', the look on the interviewers face when he thinks he did something wrong XD
Think for someone who’s famous he’s giving his kids a average life which I respect, Conan grew up and worked hard to become what he is now so at least his kids will work hard and teach there dreams too! Plus they might have better luck since there dad has connections, which is awesome!!!
I'm really curious about Conan's childhood / family life growing up, he very rarely talks about his parents (i only think i heard him joke about his father a few times)
His dad is a M.D. medical researcher at Harvard in infectious disease. He was never home. His mom was a lawyer, then stay at home mom of 6, then she was begged to come back and be one of the first female partners, at one of the oldest law firms in the US.
Famous people’s kids are judged all the time. People think the only reason they get to where they are is because of their famous parents. Even if the kid works hard and studies hard, people will always assume it was handed to them. Try living in that shadow. Can’t be easy.
But yet society celebrate people like kris jenner who give their children all this monry so they can stay rich. At least Conan id tryimg to give them a normal life. But everyone buying lip kits from kylie 😂😂😂 omg
@@henrywhite2228 in a way i agree. stop giving attention to people who don't deserve it. whether it's good attention or bad one, it still feeds their ego
As much as I usually enjoy Conan- I just couldn't hold out 100% on my own kids (if I was him and had kids,) at LEAST SOME special privileges that stars would offer! I can figure he really does not want spoiled kids, I wouldn't want any of that either. I'm certain he's erroring on the side of the least bit of the opposite though.
I'm sure he can't prevent it 100%. But he does a pretty good job of letting his kids live a normal life. He keeps his wife out of it too for the most part.
He seems biased in the way he talks about his kids. His son is a little Steve Jobs and super smart, but his daughter is just a typical girl who wants to be a singer? Why the disdain for her dream and not the son's?
Nothing wrong with following your dreams. Only this morning I ran down the street in my nude because Scarlett Johansson had told me unless I catch the purple elephant riding a chocolate pogostick she won't do that thing...
I think 'zero gravity' is a perfect way to describe that experience. No limits but also nothing to train you to become stronger and face any kind of adversity.
"I wanna see everyone's dream shattered."
Words to live by from Conan O'Brien
Oh Conan you soulless ginger

maybe not literally millions, but I personally believe that there are 3 or 4 Conan-clones that take turns being in front of the camera
Yeah there's 50 DiCaprio's out there working construction
he has 160 iq.. not a lot people with 160+ iq

I love Conan n his parenting style! You can tell he’s actually a great dad
great dad

I couldn't agree more!
I agree with everything except the humble part. What he is is a realist, nothing to do with humility.

WELL THEN, guess I won't get that box of cheese puffs at the store today!
So did you get them?
Update please. Answer the man, did you get the cheese puffs?
No, I just got a hernia. Walmart loves putting stuff on the very top shelf so that no one can reach what they need...
Lovely interview with CoCo.....
I wish he was my dad tbh
thats very ugly to say, whats wrong with your dad
don't mind him, he's probably 11 yo max
surprise! not everyone has parents that have been there for them.
right i think that would be fun

I bet his daughter can sing. Conan's got a really good voice he just doesn't know it. So the daughter might inherit his angelic voice
Exactly...
If I was Conan's son I would dress up like Conan and brag about having such a cool dad.
no you wouldnt u idiot
😂😂
Trust me they cringe at their dad. Every kid does
that was a difficult time for him, but I think he's past it now - he's a deep, sharp thinker obsessed with work and success

Yet another uptick in my respect for Conan O'Brien.
He sounds really grounded especially for someone in showbiz. But I guess it's usually the actors that live in an unreal world.

Hahahahaha that was so good
The zoom job was pretty weak.. was not able to see conan's face..you should had zoomed inside his nostrils
Truth isn't always pretty. life isn't either.
I would say life is 75-80% un-pretty
He has got his feet on ground for sure.
Conan is the best

his kid is so good at the computer 1:20 "dad there is this free app I can get, so we limit their computer time.
"Here is the raw data and your dreams will never come true" LMAO
Perfect! He is a realist. Someone who says it like it is, much like me.

jokes aside, everything he said in this is true. Including his son being a reincarnation of Steve Jobs
for king and country
Conan looks younger then :)
why am I crying? I need an explanation :(
