Goombette eyes disappear because the eyes change when you capture an enemy. When goombette got reskinned to goomba you forgot to reskin the eyes, in which are a separate sprite.

Remember. In 3D world, skipsqueks jumped at intervals, not at the same time as mario. That was just in smm2
