      Completely wrong, look at the 1% and 0.1% lows in every game tested. On the 16gb systems vs 32gb, the 32gb may use 1-8gb more ram, and the 16gb would be stuttery. Example: Hogwarts Legacy, Avatar, Warzone, Forza Horizon, AC MIrage. Basically every game other than cyberpunk.

    • @m8x425
      @m8x425 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's the thing, 32GB of RAM is NO LONGER getting cheaper, at least for DDR4. All IC makers like Samsung, Hynix, and Micron have all pulled back on DDR4 IC production, and prices are expected to rise throughout 2024. Some projections state that DDR4 prices could climb by 10% to 15% per quarter, but this depends on demand.
      If PC building and computer sales makes a strong rebound this year, you'll see DDR4 prices go up a lot this year.
      Not sure about DDR5 because I keep hearing different stories about DDR5 production.

    Not fair comparison. You should try 8gb card to correctly compare RAM amount. 3070 for example. And 16gb RAM will be completely destroyed by games.
    So. If you have 12gb card or more, it is possible to use 16gb of RAM with some lags (1% and 0,1% fps). If you have 8gb card - you should purchase 32-64 gb of RAM.
    If you want to buy a new PC even with 4090 card then you should buy 64gb of RAM with G.Skill 64 GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6800 MHz F5-6800J3445G32GX2-TZ5RK or Corsair 96 GB (2x48GB) DDR5 6600 MHz Vengeance RGB (CMH96GX5M2B6600C32) memory with even less timings.

    Zephyrus g14:
    14” display.
    OLED 3K 120 Hz

    32 GB RAM
    GeForce RTX 4070

    OLED 2.5K 240 Hz
    Intel Core Ultra 9
    16 GB RAM
    GeForce RTX 4070
    1 TB SSD
    Please keep in mind that the ram in these laptops is soldered in so I don’t have the option to upgrade it later on.
    What I really want is the G16. I really want the larger display (since it’ll be the only display I’ll have) and the dark grey color it comes in (unlike the g14 which only comes in a white color). It also has a higher refresh rate, and a better CPU. Everything about it is better…except for the ram.
    I’m worried that I’ll face problems with the RAM in the long run since I’m planning on keeping this laptop for atleast 5 years.
    I’m getting this for some gaming (mainly games such as COD, GTA, and some others) in addition to school work (which won’t be demanding). I like everything about the G16 more except for obviously the ram. Do you think this difference in ram is worth me choosing the g14 instead?

    OS uses more RAM to itself if you have more RAM installed. I.e. if you have 8 gbs of RAM win10/11 will use 2.3-2.5 GB of RAM, for 16 GB it will use 3.5-4 GB of RAM and for 32 gb it will use 5-6 GB of RAM + background processes can consume more RAM (Nvidia, adobe, telegram etc). Only weird thing happened to Hogwarts Legacy, maybe it's not optimized well or something big and heavy was ran in background while testing Hogwarts Legacy.
    So it's enough to have 16 GB of RAM nowadays. Maybe 24 GB of ram in near future (i.e. 16+8) as reserve.

    Actually, 16 or 32 GB RAM does not say anything about performance. If the game or app designed for a certain amount of RAM.
    Then it just like that. Not going to take more RAM if you had 32 over 16. More RAM to help you multi-task better. Not for the performance in term of loading single game/app at a time

    PS5 and XSX have 16GB total memory for system and graphics. So 16GB is still fine for PCs for now. Most games that are also released on console will be fine running within that limit on PC. Until consoles move beyond 16GB, we'll be mostly fine. That said I do have 32GB in my gaming pc 😅 because why not

      Based on the first few games 32GB help the 1% lows. I'd say if you have enough money then get 32GB instead of 16GB. If you're on a tight budget then you can save the money or put it where it's immediately useful e.g. faster GPU, bigger screen, or bigger SSD to have space for more games at once.

    • @InternetListener
      @InternetListener 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jochenkraus7016 By the moment you really fully need 32 GB of ram we will need a PC upgrade of at least GPU or even CPU, if today it's nota problem with a rtx 4090, why care i n a slower card we probably have? Today adding the 16gb additional cost to your GPU makes your FPS go higher ,average, median, lows, middle, high and the nth fractionth of FPS you randomly choose... going from 8 to 16gb gpu makes a differenece for vram dependant games , now and more i the future for sure, or more if we add quality settings in the setup of our current games...more rome for RT and superresolution to work and increase resolution without losing FPS massively... but going from 16GB to 20 or 24GB or 48 GB for gaming now or tomorrow, is a waste of money... in the future it will be needed, for sure, but now rtx 4090 playing GTA 3 only needs 2 GB GTA 4, hard to use more than 4GB. GTA V, from 2 GB to 4GB is amazing iamge quality evfen on 4K, going upwards of 6GB of vram or more than 8GB almost impossible, 12 to 16gb may be used in PS5 version but 24 Gb even at 16K don't think it being possible without changing game source code and compile new version...
