- 76ers trade rumors after signing Caleb Martin & waiving Paul Reed: Could the 76ers still trade for Dorian Finney-Smith from the Brooklyn Nets? HoopsHype previously reported the Sixers had interest in the Nets’ forward before signing Caleb Martin. Chase & Chip, do you guys think we should sign JT Thor. He's a pretty solid 4 with a high ceiling. His athleticism is off the charts which makes him hard to stop when he's driving while also making him a "solid rebounder & defender." His 3pt shot is VERY decent he shot like 36% from 3 last year & 33-35% from 3 career% the only downside is he shot 55% from the stripe last year (ft%) I think he'd be the perfect plug & play guy until we can get a Dorian Finney-Smith trade finalized.

DFS is super underrated. Guards any position 1-5, played center for BK while Nic Claxton was out, and he was an absolute sniper from three shooting well over 40% before he injured his ankle

True. But JT Thor is kj Martin with a 3pt shot, more athleticism, more length (no diddy), more defensive minded (commits WAY less fouls & has better defensive IQ),& he has WAY better handles.
His only downside is he shot 55% from the stripe (ft%).

The KJ for DFS idea is one of the dumbest things I’ve heard. Just sign KJ at $3mm and play him.
Because the Sixers are over the cap, signing KJ to a bigger contract gives them access to a higher value cap slot. You get a better player & a more tradeable commodity. Otherwise… we have no other avenues to improve this team except for vet min deals.

All they really need to do is just resign KJ Martin as he can start at PF and play the same exact role. Resign RoCo or Marcus Morris on a vet min and we’re golden.
They aren’t golden. Kj Martin won’t shoot a jumpshot and dfs will. Dfs actually plays minutes that contribute. Kj never did. If they can get another forward, they then need another guard. Not 2 more forwards who can’t dribble. Idk what you talking about golden. lol

We should grab JT Thor. He's the perfect utility plug & play option. Plus we don't have to give up any assets to get him. He's a free agent. Only 21 so his ceiling is high he's just never played for a winner because the Hornets aren't a good team without melo

The sixers do have a rebounding problem in the starting line up. I would put Adem Bona at power forward and ask him to rebound play D and run the floor catch lobs for dunks, he has a nice little jumper. The sixers don't think out of the box like that. Plus, the sixers have a mental issue with young players.

In this case, it's only important because the pay determines whether it's possible to sign them at all. The salary cap is far more restrictive than it's been.
