I jumped when I saw that you had posted this! I don’t really wait around for my subscriptions to post new stuff but Sir John, I stop what I’m doing and watch. I’m disabled so I have more freedom than most. I don’t know how you go home from these fields mate. I’d have twenty batteries and lights strapped to my head 😂❤❤❤❤❤
The key thing is a tumbler inside of a lock. The key shape is formed grumbles and spacers they allow for the shape of the key.Love the channel and history
Hello John, just started watching, was sitting in Church when it came in so,know I'm watching yours and now Simon has so when I'm finished enjoying your Video than I guess I'll have to watch Simon, comment at the End,Indiana.
The silver pocket watch case was imported into London by a company called Stockwell & Co AKA George Stockwell. This is represented by the letters GS near the bottom of the case. The numbers 925 represent that is sterling silver. The mark to the right of 925 represents that it was imported into London. The letter M represents that it was made in 1907.
I really love that Edinburgh Half Penny! That is such a great Scottish find, well done John! You really must get back on that new permission site. I hope you find gold!

John, I have always loved history which is why I enjoy metal detecting videos. Your great videos with a history lesson thrown in has gotten me interested in the history of Scotland. Can you please recommend a good book on your country’s history? Thank you.
Nice finds! St Andrew is the patron saint of Cyprus, St Andrews Day (known as his name day here) is day where anyone named Andrew, Andrea, Andreas etc celebrate (bit like a 2nd bday).
A good day there John! You should check out the value of the Silver Pocket Watch back it could be restored and the hole fixed by a specialist. There may be valuable pocket watches out there needing a nice back like that. Clock and watch collectors would know.
From experience I'm guessing that all your finds are from a fraction of the holes you've dug, so, I can see you've worked hard for this lot of finds John. Well done you have some decent finds I like the St Andrew coin and the silver watch back.
Why don’t you get a pair of foam rubber handlebar grips for the handle on your spade? Keep your hands warm and give you a good grip, good work 🎉from Highland Perthshire
What’s a day of digging, if you don’t get your aluminum! 😂 those old ring pulls are deceiving buggers! 😂 congrats on your new permission! Now off to finish your live, I had to leave.

Having watched you for a few years I cant understand why your on a D2 - you cant pinpoint, discriminate crap or choose a good target because of the numbers. I use a D1 and dont waste time digging crap. The Deus is Great for finding things but I swtich progs using an XY screen to know if its a target worth digging. but I will still continue to watch your vids as Scotland is my homeland even though im 250 miles away. GLHH next time. Billy MAC.

12:55 You should see if the mystery object matches up to the cog. Seem to be similar in size.
Dark at 3:30! Must be the metric system.

What a special token, nicer than some true coins.❤️❤️
the pocket watch looks like it was shot by a bullet.
The things you find! There’s no predicting what will come out of the ground with you swinging your detector

Speaking of St Andrew, any news from the Edinburgh museum on your lead half-mold find last year?
Nice Video John, enough Silver for a couple of bullets for those Werewolves I here you all have a small problem with overthere, thanks,Indiana.
Perhaps the plug looking thing is an old battery connection
The silver case bottom looks more like a makeup compact. Isn’t it kind of deep for a watch? 😊
