It seemed like they had very little evidence against them. Her testimony likely guaranteed that at least one of them would do time in prison. Also, she was not just as guilty. She didn't make the offer and she didn't commit the murder, she was an accomplice. She should have gotten some prison time for that, but like I said they probably didn't have enough evidence to convict _either_ of them without her confession.

They made a plea deal because they didn’t have enough evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. The offender knew they were on the right track and would get a much worse sentence if they figured it out on their own. What police know and what they can prove are different things. They pretend to know enough to intimidate people into making a deal.

It blows my mind. They would rather take the risk of murder conspiracy instead of a divorce lawyer! I've never been married or divorced but how expensive can that be compared to someone losing their life and/or prison.
Even if these millionaires maybe billionaires were to lose half the assets they would still be just as comfortable. I just don't understand.
Some religions will not let you divorce but you could kill her and probably get away with it. Some do honor killings, where they kill one of their own immediate family for bringing "shame" to the family.
So somewhere in this rant I may have stumbled on anything resembling a point. When I started this post I thought I knew where I was going but it turned into a rant.
Anybody got anything to add or let me know if in that ramble you find a point.

When men kill their wives, it's a "vicious, brutal, savage murder". When women kill their husband, they "snapped". 🤣
Why is getting angry over being treated like a suspect "odd behavior"?
    Cop talk ... LOL!!

A person who loved their spouse would be grieving not angry at the cops. They would cooperate 100% to help the police not get all pissy!

David, you obviously focus more on cases where men kill women 🙄 also, you think with all that planning and plotting, the killers in this case should be referred to as having ‘snapped’ ?? These kinds of comments are disturbing to be honest. NO innocent person deserves to be brutally murdered. And there are cases where a person just snaps. These cases are far, far from that. Grow up and stop with the woman hate.

Great seeing the brilliance of detective work and forensics catching these vile killers. Losing their freedom for the rest of their lives is good and proper. No mercy should be shown to these murderers.

I can't believe people actually think they will get away with these crimes! Who is going to believe a woman died by accident in a car crash when she was obviously attacked in her home? Or that a man who isn't feeling well will all of a sudden want to go fishing at night? So dumb! And I am sure the money they got didn't cover the cost of the boat or their ruined lives. They had a home in a beautiful place, they could have just been grateful and enjoyed it.

So many killings …..and for what? To get caught and wind up in prison??? Disgusting people committing despicable acts. For crying out loud, these criminals need religion, they need Jesus in their lives. They better repent in prison, if not, they are going straight to Hell when they die.

All the three suspects in the first case got off super easy 11 years 20 years and three years probation? That's what bothers me about the American justice system there is no consistency convictions and sentencing that same charge and conviction would land all three in prison for life without parole in most cases. Just wondering how they came to that conclusion and why they got off so lightly for an obvious first-degree murder conspiracy to commit murder and accessory
