That IS an amazing coin to still have in existence! Thanks for sharing the history and video, David and Interviewer (apologies, I'm a newbie and don't know his name). To hold in your hand the very first ever USA coin, and the same coin that was the beginning of/ responsible for the entire world's present-day decimal monetary system is AMAZING! :-)

If it's the very first coin shouldn't it be type 1 instead of type 2?

Maybe not for one that is very similar , the 1783 blunt rays nova constellatio is around a couple hundred u.s. dollars . 2020 redbook price GUIDE , which are not set in stone prices , but a suggestion of retail value. They list "fine" as $225. The 1785 pointed rays are listed at $200 for fine. $550 for veryfine on the 1783, and $300 on the 1785. I am starting a shop soon and am specializing in helping people of lesser means have nice quality coins.(first hand experience ,i cureently have less than $900 monthly from being disabled) There are obvious limitaions when strapped for cash , but you would probably be surprised at what can be dug up and accomplished. I stay away from details coins when at all possible.

Fugio not the first? Really!!!!!!! History is clear on this, Fugio was the first authorized by the United State. The entire group of Nova Constellatios can only be considered tokens by private mint. Nobody from the United States government officially requested these tokens to be made. All Novas except one are unique. The non-unique Nova had just 2 examples.
