  • Join me as I explore The Alila Diwa, part of my Best Hotels & Resorts in India series, to uncover its highs, lows, and everything in between. Located in Goa, just 30 minutes from the international airport, this sprawling 153-room resort offers a mix of styles, from bustling family-friendly vibes to the serene exclusivity of its Club Wing. But is it worth the hype? From metal detectors to Mediterranean dinners by the pool, I’ll give you the full scoop on what makes this resort tick-and what doesn’t.

This video takes you through all the essentials: a tour of multiple room types (including one I didn’t even know existed before I arrived), a glimpse of the three main restaurants, and my honest take on its proximity-or lack thereof-to the beach. You'll see how the Club Wing provides a calmer, more luxe experience, with perks like a private pool, high tea, and sundowner drinks. Plus, I share why the resort's use of plastic bottles left me unimpressed despite the beautiful spa and well-designed spaces. Whether you're planning a family getaway or a couple’s retreat, my goal is to help you decide if this resort fits your vibe.
The Alila Diwa is a Hyatt-owned property with four restaurants, a spa, and a free shuttle to the beach, making it a convenient base for exploring Goa’s Portuguese history and colorful culture. Entry-level rooms start at $120 in the low season, with Club Wing upgrades offering additional perks for about $40 more. While it’s not right on the beach, the resort’s lush grounds and thoughtful amenities might make up for it-depending on what you’re looking for. Check out the full review to see if The Alila Diwa deserves a spot on your travel list!

Really loved your videos and felt great that someone made a pointed out those plastic bottles (the point about sustainability), most hotels and resorts in India have a plastic bottle system, but due to the high criticism they are applying a more sustainable method.

In India is rare to find an hotel or mall without a metal detector and scanner at their entrance. After the terrorist attack (Taj Mahal Palace- one of the most notorious Palace turned into a luxury hotel in Mumbai as an example) its probably a mandatory safety feature you will see across the country.

Thanks for commenting...I'm sure that's true at many places... but of the 12 resorts I tes drove in Inida, this was the only one w a metal detector. I get security is a concern, but wonder if they could be more subtle about it

The far from city resorts you previously Visited usually avoids the checking in order to avoid any sort of inconvenience to the guests, other than those sort of resorts mostly all high end resorts which are heavily populated has a security check.
