This first one is so true. There are usually absolutely no mistakes because the writer pays extra attention to them and make sure there aren't any. In the case where they do make a mistake, I'd usually politely correct them, unless they say not to.
I’ve found a few decent ones that I’ve actually really liked. Idk if my standards are that low or they are actually good. All of them ended up with the love interest getting married and lots of smut. It’s great. On top of that the comments are feral.

Ao3 is top tier, started from twitter fics to ao3 and the fact that i have 200+ fics that i havent started and many more that havent been updated, i love it there
I don't know if this will help, but there is a book called "Global University Entrance Examination" (bl), it has a really good plot, is slowburn, kinda enemies to lovers... it is not a fanfic, but a (Chinese) novel, so the smut is not really there, besides the "extra" chapter(-s?) which the author released. You can find good translations for the entire thing (166 chapters) and there is a manhwa (not finished)...

The one I recommended to you is not in a historical setting, but more modern/Sience fiction like. (If you want another recommendation I'd say "The defective" by priest. I’ve been thinking about a handful of fics with this concept as a key point, but haven’t decided what I want to do first and which darn version of each I should settle on. But my stars, seeing someone else acknowledge the need for loving all the worst parts of a person? To still be valued no less for your flaws, nor in spite of them? To be accepted wholly, with understanding instead of the love you receive being only for the better parts? Makes me keen to write at least three of them asap. One being enemies to lovers(?), but that not being the point of the fic. I think watching this comp has successfully properly reignited my desire to write. Thank you!
