+Adam Anderson It's deep and gets you thinking. The average viewer in this generation doesn't like thinking about things that make them uncomfortable, hence all the useless shows that get renewed and all the cerebral and quality shows that get cancelled. Not always, but that's the typical way.
Truthfully, America doesn't really deserve this show anymore. It's too brilliant, too suspenseful and too smart. The general tv public is too interested in b.s. reality tv, Kardashian crap or "another NCIS".
This is the greatest TV show in the last 20 years -- on par with "The XFiles", the Battlestar reboot from Sci-Fi, and Lost (season 1-3 only).
We're not likely to see anything close to "Person of Interest" ever again on network tv. Our only hope is that some cable channel will take a chance on a new, great show, but that will only give us 10 ep seasons. Person of Interest was the last to deliver a FULL season of 22 eps -- and never put in a filler ep ever.
BRAVO PERSON OF INTEREST TEAM -- I will truly treasure these remaining eps.

+The Savage Donut Yeah you're right. This show is out of understanding capacity for most Americans. The way it's written, the delivery, the concept - everything is great about this show. More importantly, we are living in a world of A.I's - from gaming to basic NSA filtering of recorded data. It's a shame, not a single other show thought of a concept like this.

But we can't do anything about it, CBS used all of it's power to make sure that this show doesn't succeed. They changed timing, air date and lots of other bureaucracy to decrease the true potential of this show.

But CBS not owning this show mean show's owners can sell it to a another TV network.... Hopefully to CW (CBS Subsidiary)

R TE CW is a network that appeals to the teenage market who throw a strop when they don't get what they want, inevitably resulting in writers producing shit to keep people hooked.

Just finished watching the very last episode. This show is one of the best. Loved every moment of it. Kudos to the writers and actors.

+Kurtis Shats actually I think it was supposed to be 7. At least that's what the creators said they would've wanted to tell all the story. Not to mention cbs even cut down this season, making them have to cram a lot.
janine mp look up Abrams interview early this year, it was planned to end after this one. Only Satter does 7 seasons, and to be honest, it is better to finish the story the way they wanted to, not making it a 10 season soap opera, since it will keep it's quality this way.
+Kurtis Shats Abrams said that, because by this point CBS had decided that this would be the last season. Jonathan Nolan, who is the creator of this show stated that there was seven seasons worth of storytelling to work with. There would potentially be a new story after Samaritan, but not anymore.

We get the episodes late in The Netherlands and I am very sad that there will be no season 6. It's an incredibly well-scripted and well-acted series with the characters outlined very well and with great skill. It's seldom that such a fine American series gets as much interest as it has in The Netherlands.

It will be a _good_ ending, no doubt, and I agree with you on principle, but Person of Interest was still a ways away from getting close to that point. The people behind it had a lot more planned. I feel like 6 seasons at full length would have been "perfect", but obviously everyone feels differently. Edit: On second thought, 7 seasons with the new shorter format would have been even better cause I'm actually very happy they're cutting the slack. 3 more short and focused killer seasons and they could have told a truly incredible story.

Limpwrsting is basically where you hold a handgun (Glcok, Beretta, H&K etc) in a manor so that when you pull the trigger, the gun fires but doesn't get enough energy to chamber the next round. For that not to happen, he needs to be holding the P226R with a firm grip - he's not doing that so the gun will either fail to cycle or even suffer from a stovepipe jam.

POI is such a brilliant show in every aspect. The writing, the cast, even the guest actors each week are so good. So much diversity in terms of race,class,gender and sexuality. The show still had lot more to offer us but I'm glad the showrunners got to end it on their terms #whatthehellCBS

One of my favorite shows of all time. We are watcing it for the 2nd time and it's equally as riviting. The richness of all the main characters is almost indescribable.Intelligent story line and very appropriate for the hidden hand surveillance we encounter today. Hated to lose Carter and Jim Caveizel is as usuall the best...I am in love with him in everything he does notably Sound of Freedom which was released this year although filmed 5 yrs ago. Brilliant script, gifted actors, addictive... getting ready to watch season 5 again. Need to find something else to watch after this...nothing compares
i just can't believe how this Brilliant and perfection of a show is gonna be canceled !!!! it's so unfair to the incredible work the cast and team have provided all these years , always taking it up to the next level ! it's so underrated !! ugh !

Can't wait! One of the most enjoyable shows I have had the pleasure of giving my time over to. While I am sad it's ending, better that it has a proper ending instead of getting abruptly cancelled without closure or dragging on until it loses too much of it's quality.
This is addictive! The story line is superb as well as the actors and actresses! This is indeed an underrated show. I'm now on Season 5.

Without question one of the greatest TV shows ever made, it started out as one show, but with some class writing it evolved into a different type of beast altogether. Great characters, a cracking rogues gallery, Love Elias, a great sense of humour running through, I could rave about this show all night, Love it, Love it Love it!!

Awesome show that doesn't to be cancelled and also treats fan favourites very well. I think I saw a Shoot Sec scene in there, this show is great and I love how how well they represent lesbian characters.....most of my favourite pairing are divorced or dead but this show, will always be one of faviourites with Lost Girl. CBS made a big mistake here. One thing I hope, is that none of the main case die and they carrying what they do best...saving people.

I'm still holding out my hopes for Netflix cause they said there interested but it depends on how this season does as a whole, for all they know, the views might drop by the finale due to a bad story. Probably won't happen though because these writers know what they are doing and their sweetness of modern day intergrated into the show is spectacular! I believe in Netflix! :) or I'm just being to hopeful but fingers crossed. :D

Esta tremenda serie, que es la mejor de la humanidad no merece terminar, menos en este 2016 donde puede realmente RENACER como serie con toda la tecnología y guión... Estoy seguro que Person of Interest tiene mucho más que dar aún y sería maravilloso si después de esta quinta temporada algún canal la podría tomar. También es cierto que es una serie muy avanzada para los televidentes, muy visionaria para muchos que no van a la vanguardia.
Espero realmente que este no sea el fin de Person of Interest, sino que un nuevo comienzo.

Guys, sure. It's sad to see this show go. But think about it. Most shows end up going straight to crap after 4-5 seasons. This was one of the few where it luckily didn't and can end on an actual good note instead of being unnecessarily dragged on.
For example, Bones, Castle, Degrassi? They started off good, but after 5 or so seasons it just went nowhere that kept fans truly satisfied. Be thankful this show is ending where it probably should to remain golden. 🙂

From the start, POI had movie-quality scripting, acting, and film techniques. I've been so impressed with it, and I've fallen for all the characters. Each time someone dies is hard, even though I can appreciate the tension and realism that it adds. It makes me so anxious about how they're going to end the series.
I know Nolan's said that they want to leave it open-ended enough for a reboot, but that allows so much. The way I figure, as long as a version of the Machine survives, the show could technically be rebooted with a whole new team. I don't think I could keep watching if that happens. It could end with Root's message, and leave some or most of the team's survival open-ended, "Cura Te Ipsum" style, where you can guess at what happened, but you don't 100% know. That way, if they get a sixth season and not all the actors are available, then they could move forward with the people that they had.
If I had to guess, I would say that Root will survive because she's Nolan's favorite character and she's a good character for moving a plot along rapidly. I really hope Finch doesn't die. Although I like all the characters, he's definitely my favorite, and there's so much character development that I can imagine with him. But every main is somebody's favorite, right?
I have learned to use the same type of voice as Mr. Reese. . . . . . . . and I love it.

surely you guys who love this show should be happy that they're stopping it on a high. so many shows that started off amazing end up doing far too many series and the quality gets worse until you just don't watch it anymore before it even ends.
