Spot on about your Umude comment. As well as Trey Wade. Agree 120%. That dude is solid. Not sure why more plays not designed around him. I know Muss trusts JD immensely but Notae HAS to be more disciplined IMO. Notae just jacked way too many from the logo against the Zags. Don’t think you can do that against Duke and get away with it. Not saying Notae shouldn’t take his shots but use more discipline where he gets a better look at the rack. Notae looked spent a few times since he went to the rack so much against those 7 footers and as he brought it down, got to the logo he just cut loose his shots. We need to work it against Duke to get a better look. When Notae has a good look more of his shots drop.
The major difference between gonzaga and duke is athlectism so I'm not sure if the same game plan will work

@@southeastern16 You underestimated the differences massively. Duke's bigs were more athletic and Mark Williams has always been able to defend the paint without fouling, giving Jaylin Williams fits in a way Holmgren couldn't. Duke was always the more physical team, and those "same principles" were never going to work as well on Duke. That being said, I didn't expect them to be completely out of the game with 5 minutes left.

That ACC a down league, could land 3 teams in the elite 8 and maybe the final four. I think the league started slow but was good during the season and these teams were really good at the end of the season…. I mean ask Auburn about Miami.

As for the game itself, it will come down to how the refs call the game. The college basketball establishment will be all in for Duke as usual but with Coach K on his last legs all the more. Their talking heads have already softened up the refs with this pony narrative that Arkansas got all the calls against their other darling, so the Hogs will have to bring that A game we’ve been waiting on all season to advance. We haven’t seen it yet so now is the time. 🙌🏾WPS!

My goodness that was the most ridiculous team size strength… I like Duke, but Texas Tech… I watch a lot of games this year and that game last night was the highest level game I’ve seen. Arkansas was very fun to watch but was not disciplined with many possessions with bad shots…. Can’t do that on the bigger stage. Gonzaga was not playing well other than Timi this tournament. Good win for Arkansas
@@TheHardTake we’re physical enough to get the job done. We would beat Texas Tech in my opinion, cause we got a lil bit better offense then them. It would’ve been a big defensive minded type game, but Hogs prevail in clutch moments, so they would close it out to win it

One thing I did not hear youzz guyzz address is the factor of JD actually having a game where he goes off offensively. Had he done so scoring-wise vs the zags it would have been a massacre! Even 2 or 3 more threes in the Zag game would have changed the complexion entirely. He is so so due to pop. #WPS

I know this sounds crazy but I like playing duke more than TT. Duke is an extremely good team but doesn’t have the defensive pressure that TT presents. Either way, go hogs!
You do realize that Duke beat Gonzaga this season and the game was never in question? I mean that’s not to say anything about Arkansas but using Gonzaga as the standard is kind of blah…. I would say It’s apples and Oranges.
@@SilverSergeant I’m a fair person so I will look but I highly doubt they have beaten as many sweet 16 teams and elite 8 teams as Duke has…. Like I said before the great thing about the sport is it will all play out in front of us. I’ll brb and take a look at there schedule and record.
@@SilverSergeant ok so I took a look Kentucky Duke beat down, Gonzaga Duke handled, Auburn got straight up slaughtered by Miami elite 8 team who Duke has beaten, and where is Tennessee….. I think the SEC might have been overvalued and the ACC underrated severely. I mean what are you talking about Arkansas had some good Wins but when Duke beat those same teams that are the prize wins and the has beaten two other teams that are in the elite 8…. Duke is better than Gonzaga, and their talent level is far better. I think we can win, but this game has me more concerned than the game last night. We must play hyper-disruptive defense and still score about like last night. Notae has to be more efficient than 9 for 29. I love the guy, but those 20 missed shots could have resulted in five more made shots via someone else. That said, I think he had a directive last night of ATTACK and draw fouls while shooting. Some of his misses had a greater purpose. It can't be a one or two man show tomorrow on offense. We will need double digits from four OR five players, another double double from JDub, and we have to get to the line 10 to 14 times. That has to result in at least 14 pts. OR, in place of 6 of those free throw points, we could take #3 or #5 fouling out. Duke can't get easy buckets. Everything must be challenged.

arkansas matches up better against duke than gonzaga though. arkansas is especially good at containing elite guard play, so i agree duke is a more talented team, but it doesnt mean it is a better matchup for the hogs,

I wanna know what you guys think happened to Auburn and Kentucky falling off the last month of the season. What happened? Neither team played to their potential the last part of the season, an not to take nothing away from Miami or st peters, but if Auburn an Kentucky both were playing the way they have most of the season those games would have turned out different. I'm curious to know what y'all think.

Arkansas will lose this game because of jd notdae. He is extremely inefficient. He takes 30% of Arkansas shots. That will be an issue because duke has better athletes and creates better ball pressure than gonzaga.
It’s funny when I read people post that so and so team is “over-rated” in this tournament. Hmmm any team getting to this tournament is not over-rated. Is Duke over-rated? Nope. Solid team and program year end year out. They deserve all the props they get. Coach K has 100 tournament wins. That is insane. Muss will have to coach his a** off to win this one. Zags really pushed the Hogs so hope our boys are rested up. One more game boys then you got time to rest up for the FF.

I am very worried about the officiating coming up for this game. Especially since UNC is playing St Peters for a chance at the final four spot to face the winner of ark/duke. Duke usually already has the officials on their side, but I think it will be fairly bad in this game

The big difference is athleticism and physicality. The teams that beat Gonzaga tend to do so by being very physical and athletically overwhelming (and they neutralize Nembhart). Arkansas was able to do that perfectly. Duke is a different animal altogether. Going to be a good game, but Arkansas isn't going to physically dominate them like they did Gonzaga.
