I remember the American commercial for "Kibry's Block Ball", which featured crash test dummies that looked like Kirby (from the "Play It Loud" era). I can't find that commercial anywhere online; not even on retrojunk.
I wish I could find the american commercial for Star Stacker. I remember it because my friends asked me once "How does kirby never get full?" and the star stacker commercial involved kirby being an 8 foot tall piece of chewing gum with a vacuum cleaner inside that came to life from falling stars, and that he needed to keep making stars hit each other for some reason. I thought I knew the lore of kirby when I was 7 because of that commercial. XD
Ah, Star Stacker, one of my favorite puzzle games even to this day. I don't even think Star Stacker had an American commerical. If I recall "the old days" well enough, I don't remember it being advertised at all, and I just found it at like a K-Mart by sheer luck. Great BGM this game. The B.B. advert proves my point about Kirby's personality change. I'd give my life savings to HAL to see cartoony AND cute Kirby return. I love that mischievous wink. :D
