    i started with a home made 1 color 2x4 press made with a door hinge (not jiffy clamps). then i got the blue press on ebay. then expanded to a 6x6 from China. Beginning of 2020 I'm getting a vastex. I learned watching YOUR videos and Jonathan (Cat Spit) and Ryan (Ryonet) and a few others. thanks for the video! wish i had tried the jiffy clamps! that's pretty cool.

    I actually started out from ground zero with that Vevor 4 color system. You are 100% correct with having to tinker and retinker the alignment of all the working parts but once I spent time doing that, its serving me well. I started printing shirts for my tattoo shop and I am able to make some really good money so far!!!!! Thanx for your videos!

    So I started with that exact blue press! and ran into the same problems and more..the biggest is that the base was bent to hell and 1/4 of the hardware was just non existing.... Soooo with a hole lot of swearing and some backyard engineering it is now with stand and functional registration. mostly from just stuff lying around my place or at friends. it rocks now! so if anybody has one of those and are just about to kick it to the curb and go back to a lovely life of flopping whoppers.... hit me up. I I can walk you through or make you some seriously needed upgrades!! I would be happy to help!!

    Maybe build a little topper box that has a hole in the side that you could place over the shirt. Stick the nozzle of the heat gun in the side hole and get an "oven" effect that might work better than overlapping passes.

Than upgraded to a used cheap 6 color 1 station that I saw on sale for $2000pesos (about $105 USD). Its a horrible press with no micros nor even an off contact adjustment. 😁It's so hard to find an affordable printing press ( 4 color 1 station /4 color 4 station ) that has great reviews, little to no "quality" issues or good features like micro registration. Im yet to find a top rated best list for manual printing presses at beginner/entry-level at least not on a pro grade level and I don't mind buying extra for great features & quality but $1400 for a start up small business sounds a bit much but if it's worth with the right stuff I'll buy it... I started with the blue press myself and I hated every second of it. My bearings were worn out and none of the gate keepers were the same size so my print would ghost left right up and down it is terrible. And it was so hard to get the right off contact because everything was wobbly. I mainly sell multi color prints and trying to register two color prints is almost impossible especially when both colors ghost. It discouraged me so much I stopped pressing and I sub my work out or I buy heat transfers.

    • @ThePrintLife
      @ThePrintLife  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      for sure. I would not want to rely on that press for anything more than one color jobs.

    So a realistic starting budget could be as low as $300 for ALL supplies (screens, DIY press, emulsion, ink, better heat setting option, etc.) If nothing else, it makes for a fun hobby with some side money potential.

  • @iam.loopexx

    I like the idea blue one,many colour can been printed..and also saving a storage,can put at the side of corner..but,I worried about the clamp and the frame border,for long term uses..it can bend the frame border because it needed to clamp tightly avoid slightly printed..for me,that clamp design not good for long term uses..

    • @ThePrintLife
      @ThePrintLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct bending was a horrible idea anyway. Someone else mentioned I should adjust the pallet tilt and they were correct. That's what I should have done.

      An inch or 2 will do nicely just enough to tuck the bottom of the shirt in.

  • @jakey7178
    @jakey7178 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, have you ever exposed a printed peice of paper on a screen to get an image? I've seen a couple of videos where they have used baby oil on the paper to make it more transparent (also appears to stick to the emulsion surface well) and have got what looks like fairly decent results 🤔

    If the platen's are to big on the blue carousel what size do you recommend for T-shirt printing?

    • @ThePrintLife
      @ThePrintLife  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly I would just trim one inch of each side and it would be good. But that big pallet would be good for printing small posters

      And for the other board is that a 8ft 2 by 8?

    • @ThePrintLife
      @ThePrintLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The screws were crappy dry wall screws. I litteral cut them with clippers so they wouldnt pierce the surface of the pallet. I'm not sure about the length of the 2x6 I think it started at about 6 foot. Just use what ever scrap you can find.
