A Prelude Imitating a Duo for Violin and Cello. /For this reason I believe that the speed here is a little excessive. The sounds are pleasant. In your performance there are never apexes (micro-stops, or micro-broadening of time) where the melodic lines reverse direction. There are moments when you speed up that I don't agree with much. The piece in general, given the type of harmony, the chromatisms, the rather low register of the right hand, should be more dramatic and serious rather than witty. It is a geometrically beautiful piece!
@@mtv565 The tempo might be "just right" if he could play it at that speed, but there is near-constant fluffing and unevenness, especially in the left hand. Rule one of tempo: never faster than is physically possible for the performer to play with metric precision, especially in music that is mostly driving rhythmic precision.
wow bless my youtube today i came across you today, I have been looking for people analyzing P&Fs for a while now and your analysis of this BWV 875 is really nice! and your channel has a lot of good stuff too! could you do more analysis on the bach's 48?
Thanks for your great message. Yes I will do more of "The 48". I have other analyses planned for the weeks ahead, and several other requests to fulfill, but I will return to the 48.
Bach transcribed a Vivaldi Concerto for solo keyboard and this prelude is very close to being pretty similar.
I love it. Very interesting imitation, yet free.
The initial theme reminds me of the third movement of his d minor harpsichord concerto.
My top favourite of all his 48.

Inversion? Is it not voice exchange? To ly knowledge the word inversion is already taken
Suona Molto romantico stilisticamente.
