Mike Lange called my childhood. Hockey nights made the school year bearable. I remember the 5 or 6 overtime game against the capitals in 96 or there abouts. School was rough the next day but his call of Nedved’s goal that night is something I’ll always treasure. Thanks Mike.

People actually _did_ buy Sam drinks and one for his dog, too. And yes, the dog drank beer.

    God bless you, Mike Lange!
You brought a lot of joy to so many over the years.

Back in the late 80's when I was at Duquesne, we'd go to games and book back to the dorms to listen to Lange's radio replays. Lemieux scored a lot of those goals.

Who's the greatest Pittsburgh announcer? Mike Lange or Myron Cope? (or Bob Prince)

Thats a great question. I probably love the Steelers more than the Pens but I like Lange more than Cope. No disrespect to Myron, he’s a legend, but so many cold nights were spent in front of the TV watching him call games. It’s just special to me more than Cope. 82 games a year might have something to do with it. Heard him much more often.

Double Yoi! That’s a tough one. But I still gotta go with Myron Cope.

Shame on you for six weeks, great balls of fire, buy Sam a drink and get his dog one too, throwing everything exept the kitchen sink. Some of his originals of my childhood.
