Awesome video!!! Thank you so much for amazing, information! I'm in the beginning stages of becoming an owner operator and you answered alot of questions!
No problem, it’s a good time to become in o/o, Freight rates are thru the moon. If you’re leasing on to a company make sure they’re paying % of the load. There’s company’s out here paying 90% of the load. Find one of them. And save save save your money this year, freight rates aren’t going to stay up this high forever

What dealer did you get your truck from? ... Make sure to change the o rings and the oil suction manifold and get an overhead engine adjustment after 500k miles on that particular truck and change the fuel pump after 700k miles. That will get it to 1million miles
@@nicklestomillions2 10-4 good deal. The oil suction manifold is probably the most important thing to change on these trucks after 500k. You carry a reset tool or software? I use OTR performance but the nexlink is cheaper.
Yes, It's a huge difference as long as you set up right. The key is low cost of operations. Don't use any factoring or dispatching companies. Save your money and dispatch yourself
Thank you for this video. I’m not a driver, but will be hiring my cousin to drive for me and I’m planning to buy my first truck & trailer by the end of year. It’s all a bit overwhelming but your video was full of really good information. Love that southern accent too! God Bless

Great video and great info! You got my sub. Question for ya... for setting up authority alone. What would you say the total cost of that was? Thank you sir!
Thank so much for the information. I heard from someone (don't know if it's correct) that you can lease-to-own a truck, and that the lease payments are 100% tax deductible. It would seem if you're going to pay taxes anyway, might as well cover the cost of the lease payment with it...?
Yes thats true, But I don't recommend leasing a truck cause the payment could be to high. I recommend paying cash or monthly payment no higher than $1500/Monthly. If you pay cash or go the monthly route, you'll be able to write off the full purchase price of the truck or trailer in the first year.
No, It was easy, you'll have a few that won't work a new authority but y'all have a lot that will. I only ran into 2 Brokerage firms that wouldn't work with me cause I was too new at the time.
I haven’t had any issues out of the engine, but the DEF system is shitty. That’s been my biggest problem. If you’re going to buy that truck learn the DEF system, buy your DEF out the box, and change your sensors/filters out at lease once a year. Look into a glider kit or a older truck without the emission.
@@alfredoruiz9427 Every Truck is different, Depends on your setup and weight you're hauling, But my 2014 Cascadia Gets 6.5 MPG to 7 MPG Fully Loaded hauling 45k to 48k pounds on a Flatbed. Empty Around 9 MPG to 11 MPG
That insurance cost covers tractor, trailer and cargo or just tractor? Is the insurance one policy for all required coverages or you shopped for different insurance carriers? Thanks

Daimler Truck Financial, Try your local credit union first most likely you'll get a better rate. Daimler Truck Financial rate is high for a first time semi buyer. plus I didn't have a problem, Mainly cause I used a personal guarantee with good credit over 700+ at the time
@@nicklestomillions2 Thank you for your reply. I don't want to drive a truck yet but I do want to start up a company and hire a driver. Do you have any advice or offer 1:1 assistance with this? I've done dispatching and brokering now I'm ready to get my feet wet with owning a trucking company.
Ive been driving for about 9years plus a clean record. It goes off your driving history, location, and some factor in your credit also. and I bought my truck from freightliner out of Little Rock AR
$10,000 isn’t enough to get your own Authority. The best advice I could give you is to find a 1099 job that pays % of the load. Work that job about a year or two, Focus on learning how to drive and Maneuver the truck. Pay attention where your carrier is sending you to pickup and drop off loads. Write that down and the pay. That’s a easy way for you to learn the lanes, where to go and not to go. While you’re working that job save your money and build your credit. Within 1 or 2 years you should have about 35k to 40k saved. Go out in buy a cash truck from 12k to 25k get it load ready then lease on to a carrier that’s paying 80% to 90% of the load, Save some more buy a cash trailer then get your authority. Then you’re be set debt free making bank. It’ll only take about 3 to 4 years. Hope this helps and whatever you do, don’t go out in lease a truck
Save up minimum 100k, have a good paying contract with shippers to take the brokers out (leeches) , get new truck, tent out trailer, new truck will give u 8mpg against 6 n will b low on maintenance and after 5 years u will have a truck tgats about 550k miles on it just like this guy's truck but guess what, u will save by having no payments and ur truck will most likely b still going strong as u have been the sole owner
