I am Swedish .. you know Scandinavia and all that .. and this series was broadcast here in the nineties and I saw the whole of it, even taped in on VHS and I consider it the perhaps greatest western ever made. I've read almost all of Larry McMurtrys novels since (in English like you should even though it is not my first language). This episode sold me on the story. It is just simply a gorgeous western. It was, as I understand it, made to de-glamorize the genre and the time period but just made people love it more. [edit] and that thing Tommy Lee Jones said: "best thing you can do about death is ride away from it" .. that was probably when I fell in love completely. And even I know what the alamo is and here they just ride past it .. things like that .. oh man. Cheers 🍺
Blue Duck killing Roscoe, Janey, & Joe in the book was SO MUCH WORSE if you can believe it. Had me traumatized for a few days the first time I read that scene.

Oh, definitely. She will be watching part 2 before we record part 3 so she won't be lost. I may watch 2 with her too bc it was so good😊
