This is my next project for getting back to the hunt camp. We get a lot of snow up there in northern ontario and I don’t want to by a snowmobile even if it was cheap lol. I want one of these for the simple reason we get a lot of trees that fall from the snow in the winter and it be nice just to drive around the. Instead of having to cut them and move them lol. We took a trip up beginning of February and it took us 5 hours to get in on our small trail off the main which usually takes 20 mins in the sxs lol.
This would be a perfect animal then. In the up you can just go over the trees with a track sled yeah mines about a 20 minute quad ride as well but maybe 30 with a track sled
We have a pretty cool dead end road. We all just have different noises kids parties ect.. mines just loud metal working and riding stuff with engines lol
Well whatever the gearing was it looks like it goes pretty good! If you ever count your teeth and sprockets I'd be interested in knowing your combination.
No problem thanks for watching. Some day I will get better at filming along the build progress of the things I like doing. Just get so focused that I forget haha
Awesome! I love my new one I built. Still figuring out the engine with the governor removed. I was running out of fuel in the higher rpm. Drilled the gas tank vent out and seems to be working the way I want now 👍🏻
@@TRoutdoors2021 I plan on removing the governor as well. I'm swapping the carb to run on propane. Running out of gas would be awful way out on a lake somewhere.
Ya I feel ya. I wanted to do that because I think it would be sweet to tee off to a heater but I feel like I would always be questioning how full the tank is and if I can make it or not lol. I’m going to just make a mount for a extra gallon. Seems like they get 15-20mpg?
@@TRoutdoors2021 I have no idea the mpg. I haven't decided on the size of the motor either. My plan is to mount a 20 to 30lb tank near the motor. Additionally I'll have another tank for my buddy heater cooker.
It’s more for a “trail legal” thing I never really use it as they stop within a reasonable distance by themselves. But i am thinking some sort of cover would be nice
I’ve had that three wheeler since I was 15 I am now 29. One of the pieces I will never part with now it’s a great machine. Usually it is up at my camp for a daily driver but it’s getting a little tired now is going to be on the chopping block for a top end and head rebuild
Very nice build. Im wanting to build one that i stand on with a ski in the front

How about a bumper in front of the drive gear down low ? I’d think one good hit on a stump or something would take out your drive !
I thought about it but I haven’t had much issue yet.
Looks good Bud, Nice to see builders working in the Northwoods
Thanks! Mainly what I do. I love building stuff in my garage
LOL! I have relaxed neighbors I'm pretty sure I'd be spoken too if I did that! Gearing looks good.

I’ll count them up for you soon. It is a good ratio for sure
@@TRoutdoors2021 I will take 1. How much? You do great work! I need this for getting around our 80 acres. Thanks for the info
I like to start building them but there a decent amount of work to money wise I feel like
@@TRoutdoors2021please count your sprocket teeth, I’m dying to know too!
Yeah that’d be great love when a guy says he’s going to do something and doesn’t
Looks great! Thanks for sharing.

Excellent build! I'm in the UP just south of Marquette and attempting to build one out of an old snowmobile.

This is awesome! starting my own build now .. what clutch did you use for that 212?
I used the knock off comet tav2 from eBay they work very well
what do you supose it would cost to build this in materails?
I had some metal laying around but I would guess 600$? I also got the track for free as well
Looks great🎉
Thanks Matt, I appreciate it
What's the top speed?
About 16-17mph
You will have a frozen brake cable after the first run!

I see you have a Honda Big Red, very nice. I've got 5 of them, just love them. Now I want to build a track sled.

@@TRoutdoors2021 Well worth the time and money, nothing better in the bush. Have a good one.
Tensioner on the wrong side.
Yeah, seems to be working just fine.
Would be less pressure on the idLer sprocket. But seems heavy duty enough that it might not be s issue
It doesn’t seem to be yet 👍🏻
