"I have been many things in my life Molari. I have been silly. I have been quiet when I should have spoken. I have been foolish. And I have wasted far too much time. But I am still Centauri. And I am not afraid." Great lines delivered by a very fine actor.
Damian London in the most substantial role of his screen career although I think he's a stage actor as well. The character never did get a name, did he? I recall he was referred to as Minister and later Regent in both the scripts and credits.
*Virini* is mentioned a few times in the show (I just rewatched it like 2 weeks ago), but yeah, he’s almost always referred to by his various titles which is why it’s such a shame... pastels would have looked nice in the royal court ;¬)
Damians character started off as a minor comical one. But he was probably one of the greatest ones in B5 history. His fate was so incredibly sad... :'(
People often talk about fates worse than death, but this one really lives up to that description. I don't care how many times I've seen this It still makes me shudder every single time.
Most of the characters in Babylon 5 are brilliantly designed ... and Walter Koenig was better as Bester than he ever was allowed to be as Chekov in Star Trek.
The Regent was a terribly sad character for me. He didn't deserve his fate, the pain he must have endured being subjugated to that monster. Makes me feel sad.
MY favourite recurring side character is the regent, together with Cartagia, Bester, Mr. Morden, Refa - all of them played their characters perfectly. The regent' s fate was extremely tragic, as he was really good-hearted, loved Centauri Prime, and he was extremely loyal to his duties and had a certain kind of innocence, naivete, but always admitted when he did something wrong. Babylon 5 is perfect, the story, the actors, the design, the execution, the races, everything. It is no wonder, the creator, JMS actually cared for his choices as actors: For example, late Michael O' Hara (Sinclair) was schizophrenic and was given meds and they made it through the first season, despite he had hallucinations and paranoia during most of it.
I always that he was very much like Londo, but with Vir's bigger heart. It's just tragic that he may very well have been the ideal leader for the Centari, but his destiny was tragic.

Such an underrated character played by an excellent actor.
