This coming December I shall attain the ancient age of 90, and I have read almost every word Stephen King has ever written, beginning with Carrie. My library overflowed with hard covers of his words; I moved to a much smaller home three years ago and had to pass along most of my treasures I still have my favorites. King is the only author for whom I shall always pay full price for a hard copy , as he has afforded me more pleasure than any other author on the planet As long as I keep going, I hope he will keep writing! Hey Nannette. Fellow constant reader here. I’ll be 29 this year. I started collecting King’s books from thrift stores years ago. Every now and then you’ll see a cluster that you know belonged to someone who loved them. Know that some other person is gonna come along and find your collection you parted with, and thus theirs will begin, making them a constant reader too. 🫶 Happy early birthday by the way.
He is my favorite author. His books are just phenomenal. There's nothing like a good King story. Wether it's a short story or a longer one they're all just as fascinating and just as satisfying when they end. I don't think I've ever been disappointed by the ending of a King story. He's one of a kind. That's for sure!
Years back, my hubby and I went to see the Irish movie - The Butcher Boy. I saw someone walk in, did a double take, and it was Stephen King. I was a couple of rows behind him and watched him more than the movie, lol. After the show was, we were riding the escalater down. Hubby went up and put his arm around Stephen's shoulder and began talking about the movie. Then I went up to SK and said I read some of his books, like ALL of them. He was a super nice guy and my absolute favorite since Carrie. Gunslinger series - beyond brilliant.
That he doesn't expose so much as repeat it in our own voices he understands how to write what people really say in both our conversations and in our own heads
I've been reading Stephen king books since I was a young teen ... I fell in love with his writing.... I'm 36 now and I still can't put down every book of his I read... What an Amazing writer Mr King is... Can't wait to read "you like it darker"
His characters seem like they are real people. The depth of character is on point. Dean Koontz writes his protagonists as ALL GOOD and his villains are ALL EVIL. Also, I'm convinced that he believes that addicts are automatically awful humans. In reality, there are shades of many different colors in us all.
@@amberlynn-d1h John Grisham, Dean Koontz, Ruth Ware, Alex Michaeldes, Lisa Jewel, Linwood Barclay, Shari Lapena, Karen Slaughter, Freida Mcfadden. etc. This is just a few. If you go to Goodreads you can find out more about me.
@@amberlynn-d1h Honestly I read a lot. these are just a few authors. Lisa Jewell, Dean Koontz, John Grisham, Linwood Barclay, Joe Hill, Freida Mcfadden, Karen slaughter. If you go to good reads book club you can find more about me.
❤my mother started buying me Stephen King books since 1979 I’m now 59 yrs old and I have over 68 hardcover in excellent condition books. Will follow the King forever❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😎
I picked up a book to take into the hospital with me when I was going in to have my daughter. That was 1978. I was 18. The book was The Shining. I'm 64 now and I own every book by SK in one form or another and have read many multiple times. I love Stephen King . Can't wait for this new book but my favorite will always be The Shining.
I've been reading Mr. King's books since the paperback edition of Carrie with a blood-soaked Sissy Spaceck on the cover. My mom inexplicably allowed me to put it into the grocery cart when I was a kid, and it was the beginning of a one-sided lifelong relationship. Over the years, his books have been interwoven into my life the way that good songs are. A reference to one of his books, or re-reading one, can take you back to another time. I'm so grateful to him for all the hours and joy-and terror-his work has given me. Thanks, Mr. King.
I am addicted, ADDICTED to his words, his imagination, his books. I plowed through "Holly" and I am slow reader. My name is Sharon and I addicted to all things Stephen King.
I decided I had a new favorite author halfway through ‘Salem’s Lot’ years ago. I have never been disappointed in his works, and I own every book he’s written. After listening to him reading and building it all in my mind, I can’t wait for this newest book to arrive in my mailbox!
Hi, Love Stephen King !!! You rule !!!! I only read your Novels n everything you wrote n have been since the late 70's. Yep, I'm 62 now still love you !! You are the MASTER OF HORROR and will always be forever !!!! 💕💕❤️💖
I cannot wait....I have been reading his books since I first discovered Cujo as an early teenager, so 40+ years one...the works of the master storyteller are as compulsive as ever.....I cannot wait for this one!
Stephen King has been my favorite author since I was 20. I'm 67 now. We were an Army family and moved many times and lived in many places. SK was always there for me, familiar, entertaining and he always made me think of the possibility of things beyond what we know. Thank you!
He's looking good for his age! Danny Coughlin's Bad Dream sounds so good!!!! Can't wait! I like how his style of writing, his prose never seems to change!
I LOVE Mr. King and his writing. I've read every book he's written, most twice, except for "The Stand", which I've read three times. I would love to listen to him read this, but it just hit my Audible library so I'll listen there. He is, without doubt, the greatest writer of our times. Perhaps ever! I'm so looking forward to this book!

Cool! Thank you. not familiar with that particular one. I remember noticing it in some of his previous readings. You got a very good eye to have identified it by only glimpsing a small part of it. Stephen being who he is might actually be able to afford it if he so wished but being a practical self proclaimed yankee would probably pass on it 🤔 Thanks again!
Thank you for sharing this reading! Looking forward to reading the rest of the stories -- as I do with every book that Stephen writes, but I especially enjoy the short stories -- so satisfying in a short period of (reading) time. His books of short stories make me smile a lot!
Appreciate the teaser for what sounds like a great collection. My English Dept. has used Skeleton Crew for years, and I personally have used Everything's Eventual. Thank you.
Thank you Stephen King for once again bringing us another bone chilling book’ you’re truly the Best at bringing us and showing us the things nightmares are truly made of🙏💯❤️❤️❤️❤️
While Mr. King has some excellent novels (my personal favorites, Duma Key, The Dark Tower opus, the Mr. Mercedes-esque books and 11/22/63) some, IMHO, don't float my boat quite that way, his short stories are brilliant. Though short, they really pack a punch. Rita Hayworth, The Body, The Boogey Man, The Monkey and others I can't bring to the fore - run the gamut from touching, heartfelt to outright horror is when he really shines. I, as do others, have all of his books and so am waiting - almost like Christmas - for this next batch to give me goosebumps.
I'm just starting to read "YOU LIKE IT DARKER"! I just love your books, and at times I have seen my own nightmares within your books. I like the sound of your reading.....
Dude is a legend and a treasure. My life has corresponded precisely to his professional career. I was born the week carrie came out so i have to assume I'll die when he finishes his last novel. I don't think short stories count. So as he types THE END on his final long form fiction i will suffer a massive coronary. I have a reverse Scheherazade situation.
I’m actually reading Danny Coughlins bad dream right now. Haven’t finished it. It’s really upsetting in a realistic way. It’s so frustrating and heartbreaking what Danny goes through. Very realistic kind of story and it’s no wonder people wish to remain anonymous when reporting a crime.
