I think Leo realized that his ability to have a successful long-term relationship and happy family ended when he became a celebrity. I could imagine him looking around at his famous peers and seeing all the disfunction in those circles and seeing the writing on the wall. Even though his looks will decline, he probably knows the majority of women are only pursuing him solely on his status and money anyways, so why risk it?
That is what I think. My parents marriage made me extremely selective. 42, never married.
@@brandonclark435 In the days of my youthful ingnorance, I thought modern marriage was ONLY good for two things: Child rearing and a barrier to motivate couples to solve their problems instead of ending it. But nowadays I know marriage offers next to nothing because children are being raised by the internet and women are not only dissuaded, but rewarded for ending marriages. Marriage made more sense in an earlier era, but nowadays I’m not sure

Who cares? They're two consenting adults. If you really feel like Leo is in the wrong, call the authorities or sue him, and let's see how far you get. Also In an alternate universe, Leonardo Dicaprio is going through his third divorce, and his ex-wife is taking him to the cleaners, I'm talking about divorce settlement, alimony, the whole lot. But in this universe, I'm pretty sure Leo sleeps well at night knowing that he doesn't have to deal with any of that.

All men like to date younger girls/women they don't see anything wrong with Leo dating this teenager (fair enough, Leo you do you). However it's funny how they wouldn't want their own 19year old daughter to date a 48yr old guy.. why is that? I'm curious..
I'll give you a good reason: most men that age aren't as cool as Leo. Otherwise I'm sure the mother would accept it

In a world, that morality is not an issue. There is no reason not for a girl if she wants success and riches to get in a relationship with DiCaprio. Of cause, I strongly believe that finding success and riches will not lead to happiness, but that is just me, my beliefs and my life experience.
Leonardo’s girlfriend will definitely have some sorrows to tell later in life that a lot of people will be interested in listening to people

I'm 43 and I usually date women in their 20s I'm handsome so take that as you want. For me dating women my own age comes with to much baggage. They have kids ex husband. I still look like I'm in my twenties or early thirties women in their forties I they just look old I'm sorry. They have saggy bodies and they look very wrinkly in the face if they look like I do in my forties then I wouldn't have a problem with it but they look like they're much older than I am.

The fact that the story is not even true does not seem to matter to anyone. Thats scary. All this over a photograph taken at a public event where the organisers seated them together. They were at a crowded table. They are not together. They are not even looking at each other. DiCaprio has denied that they are dating. Other sources have come forward and confirmed that its not true. Imagine if every time you were seen with someone people claimed you were a couple.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to sex and lust. These women out here are literally sexual objects, not girlfriends. Relationships are serious. It is what it is. He's famous and good looking, what do you expect?
So long as the letter of the law is being upheld it's really no one else's business. Morally speaking we can turn to the Bible. In the book of Ruth we learn of morality and dating as God wants from us. Ruth never looked at or "dated" men not even of her peers. Now when Ruth was 40 years of age we learn that God blessed Ruth with Boaz. God does so as the Bible tells us "women how good for you that you not chase after young men". Ruth's act of not chasing young men is the very act that God blessed her with her Husband Boaz for. We learn that Boaz is 80 years of age, quite the May/January couple eh. But certainly not the only one. Adam obviously was older than Eve. Rebecca around 16 and Isaac was 37. Even Mary and Joseph, Mary being around 16 and Joseph being established was at least 30. Though colors believe him to have been as old as 80. The difference between these men and old Leo is these men were marriage minded where as Leo is a womanizer and yes that narcissistic selfish and most certainly creepy. Ladies take a look at older men unwed men. Generally they are past games and want more than sex. They want love companionship and trust. Plus if you marry an older man he's far less likely to cheat, I'm mean his options are limited. I'm there is a certain amount of jealousy on older women's part. One never knows why, though it's likely that they realize they wasted their life with and giving their best to Mr. Wrong. Best advice I've ever been given. One can not find Mr. or Miss right with Mr. or Miss wrong always hanging around.

The only thing I think is weird about it is if the laws and social stigma around it were different I think it’s very likely he’d be with a 15 or 16 year old.
Why do hot young women like older men?
We can provide them with experiences that young men typically can’t. And most young men are not as mature as young women

It’s the same script with Dicaprio. They are 18/19, models, go on bike rides, takes them on vacations with his frat boy friends, they get gigs and then he discards them at 25. This is not jealousy, men like beauty and youth but Dicaprio only dates college age girls not even 27-34 which is still young. This is R Kelly vibes and this “jealousy “ comment is what allows these men to get away with this behaviour.
Kelly literally pissed on 14year olds that were living in precarious conditions, isolated them from family etc. Leo doesn't seem to do anything like that at all. And there's a huge difference between 14 and 19. At 19 you can drive cars, in Europe you can gamble and drink as much as you want and take out 6figure-loans

I was really hopeful listening to this episode but got very disappointed that neither acknowledged the biological and neurological underdevelopment of humans at 19-25. The word 'adult' is a legal term, not developmental. If you are 30+, think back to your 18, 20, 22 y-o self . . . Aren't you wiser today? Isn't your perspective on life, relationships, self a bit different? Maybe even more grounded? I *was* that younger woman and it was very exploitative. The onus is on the more mature (95% of the time, older) person to recognize this and make the choice to be ethical and choose a more power-balanced relationship.
There's no point in where the human brain “fully develops”
All I hear are a lot of assumptions. If we want to get into the weeds here, we need to regard, that those young women are extremely successful already. They're models and actors, traveling the world. Assuming that they are immature and naive is agist and sexist.
The neural networks continue to develop your entire life and physical growth after 18 is minimal. Also how wise someone is at 25 can vary greatly depending on life experiences up to that point and I have met 25 year olds that are way more mature 30 year olds. For sure if you are a couple decades older you will be wiser, but saying that you are an innocent child that can be exploited when you are in your early 20s is extremely condescending towards them

I think that people generally greatly exaggerate how much they think the mature with age. I just don’t see it, as it seems to me that a lot of the works of literature and art that are considered wise were created by people in their 20’s. As we get older I think we develop more practical skills, like getting better at separating laundry and knowing what kind of toilet paper we like. But unless we are actually meditating for hours a day, or some deep therapeutic process for years, the passing of a decade or two isn’t automatically giving us some kind of enlightened maturity. The women that I’ve dated that were closer to my age weren’t generally any more enjoyable to be around or calm in challenges situations, they just knew more 80 and 90’s cultural references. I think most middle aged people are far more similar to their 25 year old self than they admit.
It speaks to his own immaturity. Think about how much youve changed and matured since you were 20. Youre basically a child at that age. So maybe its not "wrong" but it definitely shows your own immaturity if you are 40 and want to be with a 20 year old. I am 30 and wouldnt be with a 20 year old because of this. If you want to be with someone that young it seems like it is just for sexual reasons.

There is a huge power imbalance in the dating when men are younger, yet nobody acknowledges it. I know a lot of girls who have nothing to offer and yet have been with 50+ guys and have dated a few of them seriously also. Yet I had to struggle to get even one date in my 20s. It’s time for me to enjoy what I should’ve enjoyed in my 20s.

In fact, if you have a very experienced 19-year-old, I would argue that the power dynamic is in favour of the 19-year-old and that in 19-year-old can potentially exploit and damage a 40-year-old naive person .
That might be the 40-year-old first relationship, and they are naïvely and idealistically, looking for love and that 19-year-old is exploiting that weakness for their own gain
It’s not a very likely scenario in fact I would argue it is fairly unlikely, but it is possible ….

The way Emily dissects this is so dumb. It's really sad to hear a woman label other women as jealous when maybe they're just trying to look out for them. Talk to a relationship or marriage counselor. Ask them about age dynamics in relationships and why some men go for younger (more impressionable) girls. Actually do proper research with science based evidence, instead of spewing nonsense at your viewers. Emily, I strongly encourage you to get the help you need.
