The fact that Mads doesn't have an Oscar is a travesty that I hope this movie will fix. All you have to do is put Mads in a movie and it makes it an instant watch for me. This looks on par with the highest work he's done so far. I still lament the cancelling of the NBC Hannibal series, probably my favorite role of his and he played Hannibal even more cunningly and beautifully than Anthony Hopkins himself.
The Oscars are a joke, we all know that.
Only 1 actor on this planet deserve Oscar, and it is President Zelenskyy :) Slava

Mads Mikkelsen it's one of the best actors working today, so versatile. Everytime I see him on a screen, I don't see an actor acting as a character, just a see character living the story. I love it!
He was excellent in Hannibal! IMO better than Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter.
I have never seen him give a false note, no matter the genre, no matter the story, no matter the character. He's absolutely incredible, and the very definition of "gravitas" on screen.
Agreed, he's also grounded as an individual.

I love 18th century period pieces and I love Mads Mikkelsen. "A Royal Affair" was excellent, and this looks even better. Can't wait.
Just saw it tonight at the cinema - it IS better. It is brutal, cinematic, engaging and even have small pockets of humor ❤️

Just came from watching the screening at TIFF and OMG this was so good. I can't wait until the book is translated. Also, shout out to Director Nikolaj Arcel for having such a great Q&A session after the show at midnight. So many people wanted to ask him questions. I even saw him stay behind right outside the theater to continue answering more questions.

Caught this at a festival. It’s as fantastic as the trailer (which uses score from the film). You constantly expect it to be a Braveheart type underdog epic and it keeps surprising you. The end is so powerful.
I watched it last night. It's a really good movie. Also, the female supporting actress who also stars in Raised by Wolves is a tremendous, tremendous actress (sorry forget her name)

There are lots of new rules, I don't think that european movies with european cast can even be considered for oscars anymore
@@Velnias8 Bullshit. The new rules are easily achievable that no film will be left out because of that. Plus, they are only meant for best picture. It is not required for other categories

Just saw this at Chicago international film festival. The pastoral beauty and theatrical wit of banshees of inishiren is met with the uncompromising grit and terror of the Northman. A beautiful and ultimately inspiring drama. Really never seen anything like it.

I watched the movie in venice with the cast. What a masterpiece! Great performances especially from Mads and the guy who plays the villain.. thrilling..
Mads in Arctic was one of the best acting I’ve ever seen. Very little spoken, all him acting . This looks good too
That was incredible. The Hunt is also one of the most gut wrenching performances I've ever seen. He's just mesmerising.

So good movies, that are worth watching are still being made nowadays. But one has to really dig to find them. Cinematography, good actors and production - it was a movie that was satisfying to watch. Although, maybe not memorable to last a lifetime, or as intense, but it had lots of moments that are worth mentioning. It almost felt like being transposed in the realm of a novel.
Really good film. Excellent acting. Not just Mads Mikkelsen. Fantastic directing.
