Initially I thought the 'optical flow' stabilisation would not work so well outside...but I was wrong. It maintains hover over the same spot and at the same height very well. This helicopter is controlled more like a drone than a traditional collective pitch RC helicopter. It makes it much easier and less challenging to fly. Left stick for up and down, yaw/spin left and right. Right stick for move sideways left/right and forwards/backwards.
Everything is included in the box except the 4 AAA batteries for the radio transmitter. The smart batteries charge up in about 30 minutes using the provided USB C lead. No assembly required and no stickers to apply. It is ready to fly out of the box.
Put the battery in the helicopter ensuring the clips engage. Then switch on the transmitter. Hold down the button on the battery to switch it on. Put the helicopter on a flat surface in some space ready for take off. Click the unlock button, then put the sticks to the out and down. The motor will start spinning. Then use left stick up to take off !
To land descend using down on left stick, and when very low hold that stick down to land and it will switch off motor automatically.
If you want to have the fun of flying an RC helicopter without the steep learning curve and challenge of learning collective pitch helicopter flying then this could be for you. It's quite clever how it is controlled more like a drone than a traditional RC helicopter...and it will fly on each battery for about 20 minutes !

I have the c189 md500 which is basically the same thing but without optical flow,absolutely a excellent helicopter and lots of fun to fly,3 batteries flies forever it feels but yeah these helicopters are brilliant. ❤
It’s important to know that it’s 5 channel, not 6 channel. So there is no aileron type inputs. No crank and bank.
This seems like an important point to not gloss over.

This is a nice heli to get infected by the heli virus! It's for sure much easier to learn the orientations with such a machine than right away with a collective pitch heli in 3D mode. It might bring new people into RC heli flying. Before these machines with a lot of help features were available it could have been frustrating. I know very well what I am talking about, had my crashes and bad moments!

I would imagine fenestron would not be too difficult with brushless motor set up.
not sure why they didn't do it.
and if they aren't going to do fenestron, why not just make EC145 with conventional tail ? rather than EC135 ?
Hello I've watched all the videos on this helicopter. You can fly this helicopter inverted.why doesn't anyone show this in their videos

Nice if it had a camera in the nose
It's too small for anything other than an analog FPV camera and that would ruin the look of it. I'd only add a camera when it can be installed inside the canopy/fuselage. I did do it with an Airwolf heli not long ago.
