Thanks so much for this! I wanted to find something to watch that would bring a patriotic spirit for president's day, and this was perfect! I loved the humor, the christian values, the editing, the music, the destinations, and all the interesting facts about Washington and Lincoln. This makes me want to visit these sights you visited. I feel prouder as an American and I want to cherish the values that these presidents instilled in our country. What amazing men. You're doing a great work! Please keep it up! I'm officially a fan of Drive Thru History!

We failed to live up to Washington's words. We're so divided now and we've lost what this nation was built upon.

Hey Dave, I enjoy your videos! You should fix an issue with this one. You talk about Jefferson Davis being the leader of the Confederacy-however, the person shown is a Union general, not Davis. @44:25.

Just know that there is no federal holiday called President's Day. The federal holiday is Washington's Birthday.

Its ok with me that you didn't include Biden or make a new recording of the song.
I love your clips, by the way, but they are way too short (except this one so far)! Love the Humvee. Drove one when I was in Iraq. My 2016 Jeep Wrangler is the closest a civilian vehicle has come . Even the civilian Humvee doesn't compare. And I was just in Philly and Valley Forge with it this past weekend! I went into Philly to go to the Eastern State Penitentiary. But didn't get to visit Independence Hall or the American Revolution Museum. We wanted to also see where the Tun Tavern had been and the Scottish and Irish Memorials nearby. We did go by Geno's and Pat's to get a cheesesteak. Pat's won out because it was more accessible on a busy Saturday night where we had the goal of leaving before night fall. Better panning needs to be done for next time. Its really beautiful at night.
Still have yet to go to Mount Vernon. Been waiting for things to open to pre-COVID conditions. There are remnants of Washington's presence in my home town and area. I live in Cumberland, MD. We have a "Washington's HQS" cabin at the very start of where the nations national road starts (US RT 40: Cumberland, MD to Wheeling, WV). There is a beautiful Episcopal church where the Fort Cumberland used to stand. There are corner stone markers on the street to mark where the original fort stood out from the church and there are still some remnants of the tunnels that used to be there as well. Washington was in this area during his time with General Braddock. Not too far away....you can find Braddock's Grave and Fort Necessity. Alot of French and Indian history in this region. You will find these items all along RT 40. All of Braddock's camps are indicated.
Been to Gettysburg countless times. My husband and I vacation there every July. There's always something new to discover and new people to meet. They just finished, I believe, a big renovation on Devil's Den. They are currently do a renovation on Little Round Top. They are only doing this to make it "user friendly." It will be a missed visit this year. The place where Lincoln stood for his address is sadly not specified - it is only referenced where it "could" be. I would think this would be something someone would have wanted to indicate for historical reference and remembrance - but was not. His address, however, will do something its words resonate - long endure. Been to Ford's Theater. It is beautiful and most of it is in original condition or as it appeared aesthetically. The museum and the place where he died in bed across the street is a must see as well. I don't believe we will ever have anymore presidents as we did in our nations first 100 years or so. These men truly realized how lucky we were to have gained our independence from England and it carried on for a generation or two. Now, the citizenry of this country largely has no respect for history or much else for that matter. I am forever grateful and happy that alot of the historical items that were erected, created, or built are still available for future generations to ponder on and discover.
Incidentally, I think a new "National Treasure" movie needs to be made.

This video contains a major error. Congress never a approved a change to Presidents Day. The federal holiday continues to honor only George Washington. Lincoln's birthday has never been a federal holiday.See: A goodly number of the nation’s states-probably 20 or more-have officially named their state holidays observed on the third Monday in February as Presidents’ Day to honor Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
However, the federal holiday and the state holidays in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and probably at least half of the other states remain George Washington’s Birthday despite what state officials and websites say.
Lincoln’s birthday has never been a federal holiday and many states, particularly those in the South, never observed Lincoln’s birthday as a state holiday.
In the 1970s when a new federal law required four federal holidays, including Washington’s birthday, to be observed on Mondays, a number of states that had state Lincoln birthday holidays combined their Washington and Lincoln birthdays as Presidents’ Day to avoid giving state employees an additional holiday.
Advertisers and marketers have been the major pushers of the term “Presidents Day” for retail sales promotional purposes.
If they, banks and other organizations want to refer properly to the federal holiday, the term “President’s Day” should be used since only one former president is honored by the federal holiday.
And that will not change unless Congress decides at some point to make a change.

Interesting Canada has made the 3rd Monday of Feb a holiday too. Is it pagan?🇨🇦 here, I learned Washington wasn't first, there were several others before him.
