میرے پیشِ نظر عالم رہا ان کے تصور کا
فقط ان کے تصور میں گزاری زندگی میں نے
Tu mujh me baqaa hai, mey tujh me fanaa hu
You are the permanence inside of ‘me’, I am non-existent in ‘You’
Tu hai nur meraa, me teri ziyaa hu
You are the light that illuminates me, I am your illumination
Na tu hi judaa hai, na mein hi judaa hu
You are not separate (from me), nor am I separate (from you)
Tu mujh me ayyaa(n) hai, mein tujh me nihaa hu
You are manifest in me, I am hidden in you
Nahi ghair tera ke mushriq nahi hu
You are not ‘other’ so I am not someone that joins to you
Tu hi sab ka awwal, tu hi sab ka aakhir
You are the beginning of everything, you are the finality of everything
Tu hi sab ka zaahir tu hi sab ka baatin
You are the manifest of everything, you are the hidden mystery of everything
Tu hi sab ka haazir tu hi sab ka naazir
You are the present in everything, you are the resemblance of everything
Tu hi sab key andar, tu hi sab key baahir
You are the one inside of everything, you are the one outside of everything
Uthaaye chasme dil se jab hijaabaate duwi meyney
When I lifted the veil of duality from the eye of my heart
Me tujh me aisaa samaa jaawu ke mein hi naa rahu
I would like to endure in you in such a way that I become non-existent
Tu mujh me aisa samaa ja, ke tu hi tu ho jaa
And would you capacitate yourself in me such that none but you remains
Uthaaye chasme dil se jab hijaabaate duwi meyney
*Kabhi khayaalo ki hadd me thaa yaar ka jalwa
The splendour of the friend was confined to the limit of my thoughts
Aur ab hai jalwaa hi jalwaa, khayaale yar nahi
Now, that effulgence is so manifest that the thought doesn’t remain anymore
Wo kohey toor ho, ya sar zameene dil Bedum
Whether it is the Mount of Sinai or the earth and sky of the Heart of Bedum
Jamaale yaar se khaali koi dayaar nahi
The effulgence of the friend is not vacant anywhere
↑ Hijaabate duwi uth jaaye ghar zaahid ki nazro se
If the veil of duality is lifted for the devout monk
Nazar me uss ki yaksa Kaaba-o butt khaana ho jaaye
Then his sight will not be able to differentiate between the Kaaba or the Temple
Uthaaye chasme dil se jab hijaabaate duwi meyney
Uthaaye chasme dil se jab hijaabaate duwi mene
Har ainey me shaql-e ainaa ghar dekhli meyney
In every mirror I saw the one who made the mirror
Merey sajdo ki qadr-o manzilat maalum hai ussko
He knows the state and value of my prostrations
Liyaa jis aastaane sey khiraaj-e bandagi meyney
From the shrine where I paid my obedience, worship.
Gayaa soo-e haram zaahid, birehman soo-e butt khaana
The monk went toward the shrine of the Kaaba, while the Brahman went toward his idol house
Magar me baada-kash thaa, maikadey ki raah lee meyney
But I was a drinker, so I went to the place where the wine was served from
*Na man tan aazari, maikhana raftam
Junaid-o Shibli-o Attaar shud mastam
Koun hai jisne mey nahi chakkhi, koun hai joothi kasam jo uthaa ta hai
Who is it that hasn’t tasted the wine? Who is it that makes false oaths about this
Maikade se jo bach nikalta hai, teri aankho me doob jaata hai
Even the ones who leave your tavern are drowned in your majestic eyes
Magar me baada-kash thaa, maikadey ki raah lee meyney
Kabhi sangey darey maikhanaa se takraa key sir phoraa
Sometimes I beat my head at the door of your tavern
Kabhi hosh aagayaa to phir ba-qadrey zarf ki meyney
And sometimes if I regain consciousness, then with utmost respect I retain courage (to value this treasure and carry on)
Wo chasme koozagarh jab aa basi chasmey tasawwur mein
Since the drunkenness that comes from your eyes is beheld within
Giraayaa hath se shishaa suraahi towr dee mainey
Then I dropped the outward forms of worship (that mean nothing)
Jabeene showq har sajdey mey, sajdaa gaah ney choomi
The places of worship all kissed my head as it bowed in your true yearning
Liyaa kuch aur hi rehh rehh ke lutfey bandagi meyney
These are the delights that I have tasted from worshipping you
Mere pesh-e nazar aalam rahaa inn ke tasawwur kaa
His was the image I always contemplated, oh Aalam
Fakatt inn ke tasawwur me guzaari zindagi meyney
I have spent my whole life simply contemplating his image

کبھی خیالوں کی حد میں تھا یار کا جلوہ
اور اب ہے جلوہ ہی جلوہ، خیالِ یار نہیں ہے
میں تجھ میں ایسا سما جاؤں کہ میں ہی نہ رہوں
تو مجھ میں ایسا سما جا، کہ تو ہی تو ہو جا

مگر میں بادہ کش تھا ، میکدے کی راہ لی میں نے
حجابات دوئی اٹھ جائے گر زاہد کی نظروں میں
یکساں اس کی نظر میں کعبہ و بت خانہ ہو جائے
