Capa decides wether you are acting "morally" correct, deciding what that means themselves. They are corrupt af and have connections into other media and the government, the president and vp are really shady. Lawyers are on it, and zhang zhehan is living his popstar era in Thailand now. He had a massive glow up, his outfits are slaying.
There are still deepfakes of zzh online, and a letter essentially accusing gj of queerbaiting and stealing his work. We don't know if the letter is real, since zzh had no access to his insta or weibo. But if their relationship was queerbait, then it's not only gj to blame, but both of them.
There were like millions of bots, pushing lies into the hot topics on weibo, media outlets just copied it then.
Colonial trauma was weaponized against zzh, disguised as "patriotism", when most of it was straight up nationalism and homophobia.
There are some dedicated haters of gj out there, most of them are just transphobes and homophobes. Then there is this thing about "effeminate" men being banned in Chinese TV shows and movies.
Prior to that entire story, a similar thing happend to the untamed lead actor. A queer fanfiction with the actors name was posted on ao3, so the entire website was blocked in China, the actor was deplatformed and the author of the fanfiction got blamed for it.
In both cases, the actual fanbase of the actors never stopped supporting them. Many of them are queer themselves.
