in no way would i consider the cable to be a down side. it vastly improves the durability of the device. if the ligtning version gets hit in any way while its pluged in it will break the connector off
no if you have an ipad 10. gen it cant work directly bc the 1. gen pencil is lightning but the ipad is usb-c so if you use them you need a cable and an adapter to plug it into ipad
I would take the Lightning one any day just for the pressure sensitivity feature. Apple should have dropped the price of the USB-C one more in order to be considered a good choice.
There's no point using pen while charging as it doesnt take long to charge, a 30 secs can give you 30 minutes power. You can literally have a bathroom break and have it attached then youll have almost one hour of usage.
I just bought a gen 1 pencil because it works well for art (pressure sensitivity is a must) and it came with lightning to usb-c connectors so I can charge it via cable :)
Doesnt seem like a downgrade to me as the lightning port pen looks like it may actually lead to it gettinh snapped off the pen while plugged in if someone or something was to put tension onto it and idk if it can be used while charging but if it can be then the type c one is a total upgrade as you can use it while charging so there's no worry about the pen's battery running out
Tried attaching the 2nd gen pencil to my ipad 10th gen but it attaches loosely. Does the usb c pencil attaches better to the ipad 10th gen? It wont fall off?
Im not much on drawing so it works perfectly for me and yes you can buy a 10 dollar stylus if thats what you need but it wont give you the premium feel that the apple pencil does and the design is much better than the lightining one
I had this one but I ended up dropping it and the moving top part cracked. I went back to Best Buy and returned it for a 2nd gen which was on sale for $80 luckily. I actually liked the cable connection thing. I get protective iPad cases so I have to take off the case to charge the 2nd gen. The usb-c version was more convenient for me, but it’s not as durable & there’s no protective cases for it yet which is why I stayed with the 2nd gen.
Type C, no pressure sensitivity, no double tap you can get for 1500 in India and if you give 700 more you can also get wireless charging. The only thing you won't get in is an apple logo.
Guys buy an after market pencil if you are a student and want to write only.... You can also get away with a usb-c no need to buy the gen 1 it wont be compatible with future ipads... 😊
I have a pencil clone with tilt that I purchased for 15 dollars. I charge it with USB-C, the charge lasts close to 20 hours, it's got 0 latency and pairs quickly. How would the apple pencil USB-C be better than a clone with tilt?
That’s not true at all!! You only use the cable to connect your pencil to your iPad!! You can use this pencil exactly like the one you would spend your money for the pencil that cost $130 plus tax
Why do you think that? It is a decent product that brings you the ApplePencil experience for a way much affordable price. In my country, the price difference between this and the second gen is around 70$, which is a huge difference, but the second generation may worth it if you need it. But the iPad 10 is not compatible with it at all, so you might stick with the losable cap, the need of the adapters to charge, the shiny surface and the round shape. Instead I’ve got a second generation shape (and a slightly shorter product), a cap that I can’t loose at all, an easy way of charging and the magnetic attachment to the iPad.
@@techtips is the USB- C and is pro but when l use my ipad on the apple pencil (USB-C) my ipad not moving it stay still and when l go to the fixing device store is say it is chinse ipad and need to wait it to is low battery

The downside is that it has no pressure sensitivity and thus it can exactly do everything a 10 $ pen can do
It does have tilt sensitivity though I believe so it is a *tiny* bit better than a $10 stylus… if you like highlighting things, that is 😂
Do any of the apple pencils have pressure sensitivity?
@@Gabzrecovery1st Gen and 2nd Gen Lighting Apple Pencil definitely have Pressure Sensitivity

Right, and with USB-C you can use the Pencil while it's charging
@@LampreyGodcall me 🤓all u want but im pretty sure the pencil disables while charging

you have to get a stupid $9 usb-c to lightning connector to charge the apple pencil 1 on ipad 10, ridiculous.

Ah yes, another Apple moment

for art it’s muy bueno
I'm using the usb c right now and its really good plus it magnetically attaches to the side of my 10th gen

exactly

TYSM FOR THE HELP ❤
(I have scrolled on the whole TH-cam to find this)
I brought the Penoval AX Ultra pencil, but it has the USB-C, JUST LIKE YOU!!
I thought I needed to upgrade this into Apple Pencil the 2nd gen
The cable is a positive, everything else about the pencil is a negative. No pressure sensitivity makes me want to cry
The magnetic charging one is probably the best
They did that so you would have to buy a cable which somehow cost $40, even though you could just get one for $1.25 at the local Dollar tree
Can you just use the charger your iPad came with to connect it or do you need to get that specific cable
I had this one but I ended up dropping it and the moving top part cracked. I went back to Best Buy and returned it for a 2nd gen which was on sale for $80 luckily. Hi, how does the usb-c pencil connect to the iPad 10th Generation tablet, with a cable?
It’s honestly not that bad bc the cord comes with the iPad
Does it work on the 10th gen ipad?
@kirby3969 Thanks, just got it and I love it.
Tbh I love the usb-c Apple Pencil
my daughter used my usb-c pencil and she had no problems drawing with it.
Where u buy it from and do it work on apple ipad?
Target (linked in video) and it only works on iPads that have USB-C ports rather than Lightning.
Do they both have a palm rejection ?
Your video is more like the unboxing of pencil😅😅😅
Question: Does the usb c Apple Pencil come with a cable or do you have to buy it separately?
It comes with a cable
Okay thanks@@denishalennon9457

The downside he posted is an improvement, now you can charge it from something other than an iPad

Great if it works for you but my apple pencil type c lasts me for 5 days so that's pretty good and also you get the premium apple feel
Its for an ipad ten.. plus i can charge it in my ipad case slot
what ipad is that??
I got my Apple Pencil on Amazon and it’s the same brand for 80$ and it’s the one the charges magnetically
My parents say that it’s $300 dollars and it won’t connect via cable! ??? Can you fix this
It's not 300 it's 80 and it does connect with cable easily if yours isn't working maybe you should get a replacement
The downsides are mixed. With the cable, you don't have to worry about losing the pencil.
That’s not true at all!! You only use the cable to connect your pencil to your iPad!! You can use this pencil exactly like the one you would spend your money for the pencil that cost $130 plus tax
No pressure sensitivity, I’d rather just buy an Amazon pencil or keep my Gen 1
Just buy a 3rd party pencil - does what it should for less than $10 and it works even on the new 13inch m2 air and pro
Who would buy the 1st Gen and The USB-C
Is it compatible with ipad 9th gen?
So no one here know that the ipad 10 has a usb c port so you need a cable and an adapter to plug it in , so there is 'o downside
