How wonderful that Neil feels so comfortable to walk the streets and talk with people. What a very humble and down to earth man. Neil is so nice and encouraging to others. One more reason to love Neil Diamond.
We lived 2 doors down from Neil & his Family when we lived on west end ave, in Manhattan Beach..My mom use to buy me & my brother's clothes when we were small at his parents clothing store "Diamond's in Brighton Beach. There were times when i would be playing outside by his home and his mom Rose would give me a treat or candy. Then after Neil moved away busy w/ his career, i remember him stopping to see his parents and he stopped in our home w/ some promo lps that he gave us. I must have been
about 9 yrs old or so and i had my 1st guitar for x-mas, so i asked Neil "Do you play the guitar?" and he laughed and said to me "yes, but not very good"..I remember my Dad laughing and it was a very inspired moment for me ..I've never stopped playing the guitar , going on 40+ yrs now.So i always felt a certain bond when i would hear a Neil song on the radio, glad he made it , he was very cool. it must have been around 1969 or so.. He had a nice family, it was a fun time in our lives..
Amazing they know you? LOL Your music ROCKS! And thru it, you have touched many many MANY lives, mine included. You have a beautiful heart and a giving soul.
You don't have to be from Brooklyn to know an amazing singer-songwriter his music covers the world! Who cant listen to Brooklyn Roads and not go back to where ever they were raised and have memories flooding back to them. Wonderful music Thank You, Neil.
I used to work in oil exploration out in the deserts and we all lived in 5 man tents. Next to my bunk I wrote on the canvas tent side, two names with a permanent marker.... Dylan and Diamond. Its 2020 now and that was 50yrs ago. Loved him all of my life....
Neil Diamond is the first man I ever fell in love with at the age of 13. First song I heard him sing was "Girl, you'll be a woman soon" stole my heart forever. My mom fell in love with him too, after I turned him onto her, she was one of the "Tree People" at his Hot August Night concert in LA. She then remarried to a man that looked like him and as for me a Grandma, the feeling I had for Neil Diamond back when I was a little teen, still remain. Crrruuussshhh
Like your songs Neil. i do enjoy them Arrived in NYC at night at JFK in Dec. 71 coming in on a DC8 by Atlantis. Meeting two lovely women on the plane and them realizing I had no place for the night, they invited me to their home. It was comforting and wonderful being a stranger to New York. God Bless their Family. Greetings to all the good folks in NYC.

Neil Diamond was in 1977, four days on Tour in Netherland.there were problems with the Hammond organ (110 Volt America-Europe 220 Volt) I'm approached by Lou van Rees Management for a solution to my Hammond Rent. After four days I got my B3 Hammond returned with Fire spots of Cigarettes. It frustrated me.They have me removed me from the Neil Diamond Fan Club because I had this listed on their site.Never Apology of Neil Diamond ;-(
