I got PE26 copy around 5-6 months ago. It's such a faithful copy down to the slightest detail. Installed genuine jets, needle jet + needle and it worked better. Not 100% perfect as a genuine one but it works well.
Interesting to know! Maybe a good cheap alternative to someone on a budget build but thank you for the feedback
@@ctadrenaline Funny thing is that this carb came with a #152 main jet which was ridiculously big. A #110 + cone filter did the trick. Another alternative is to get a used genuine one. There are lots of rebuild kits around.
Yeah them knock offs r getting super hard to distinguish. Some even have the laser etched serial number I've heard. U know what would be cool, ordering one of the fakes that has keihin, and pwk stamp and do comparison measurement wise. Intake and filter side measurements, and find some other differences too. I think the idle screws r different material. Brass bung plugs aren't brass I think. I could be wrong lol but yeah I've never tried one of them either so I can't say for sure. But it's not worth the risk. Esp on bigger motors.
So apparently the knock off parts can fit into the real pwk carbs. Like the slides can fit right in, the top cap can bolt onto the real, but the real top cap can’t bolt onto the China one though. The bottom bowl is a direct bolt on swap as well. Yes I agree not worth the risk especially on a bigger motor. Problem is people try to cut corners on certain things like electronics for an example and wonder why the bike isn’t running good
Chinese carburetors work great as long as you put in the Keihin needle and jets your bike calls for. Typically the carb will come set up super lean. One other thing to check is that the jet block seal does not leak. I had that issue on mine and had to replace the seal. Attached is a video I found on how to check that seal. th-cam.com/video/q1xVF2CKqgE/w-d-xo.html
I've been using a 28 dollar Mikuni VM26 clone...its cloned down to the Japan stamp on the side. Identical copy and it works great with the jets I used. The needle it came with was fine, 5 slot for the C clip.
So many shops us those knockoff carbs and we can’t-tell the difference.
Can’t tell the difference in appearance or performance?
I bought one ftom rolling wrench . Used supposed to be new
Thank you for this video
The fakes are actually great carbs. Use them all the time. Never an issue. Not everyone can afford a $250 carb.
People have used them with success. Some have not. If I was going to use them I would use genuine inside parts like slides, jets needles. What year make model did you use the fake carb on?
Where do you buy the ones you have success with?
@Eli Skinner there is always that chance it might not be good but I’m glad to hear they have worked out for you. What bike or quad did you use them on?
Can you take the bowls off I wanna see the jets
What is the problem of running fake carbs ?
Like the China cylinders that can run ok with a good port job, the longevity of them will not compare to oem or the other good cylinders available like CP for an example. If someone is to run those fake carbs I would suggest Keihin jets both main and pilot, and the needle you would currently run in real pwk carbs like a CEL or whatever you choose. It would be a shame to be out riding by yourself a hr out and have a failure happen whatever it may be. Not saying it would happen but it could. Plus you want to support the companies that made the real ones in the first place
where can you buy?
Dealerships, bansheehq sponsors is a couple places. Stay away from ebay. Yes you can get real ones but I wouldn’t be surprised if there is fakes on there saying they are genuine
Nice video
Thanks for viewing and the support! Please feel free to subscribe if you think the video was helpful
So basically if u dont have a genuine one to compare with your f#$ked i honestly cant even tell anymore, ive excepted everything is a knock off 😮💨
Buy from a bansheehq sponsor they have legit ones
